Simone Sommerhalder, principal cor anglais with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, was born in Germany in 1987 and raised in Ticino and in Italy. He represents the sixth consecutive generation of professional musicians in a dynasty originating from the German/Swiss composer Adolf Reichel (1816-1896).
