    That's a very stunning piece. I tried to follow this as a tutorial using my pastels... but it didn't come out as good as yours. You make it look so easy. Congratulations.

    The softness of the pastels give such a beautiful dreamy vibe to the portrait which looks amazing 👌. Did you fixed the drawing first before you started blending the colours in ? Thanks for sharing .

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  Рік тому +2

      No, I don't fix it. I do enjoy doing a quick flat wash with a single watercolor over the drawing to tone it though. This does keep it in place more. But it's not necessary to do and there are instances where I don't.

    If you don’t mind I wanted to ask if you use pastel pencils with the features or to get the tiny areas?

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yes, I use pastel pencils for details.

    This looks so nice. It’s interesting how you make small scribbles on the paper. Is it to not put too much color or else it’ll get chalky?

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  Рік тому

      No. You can layer as much as you want and I often layer many colors. It is because there are many layers of colors in each spot or section and so I try to put the right ones in the right spot.

    Should I do the basic value with graphite or charcoal? Thanks.

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  6 місяців тому +1

      You can. I usually add some quick light basic values so I know where the shadows are. But they are not full renderings by any means. Merely light suggestions for myself before going in with pastels. And I use charcoal.

    dear Andu, I still don't understand, is the chalk you use the oil pastel chalk, or the dry one?! the appearance is of oil pastel chalk , anyway, your art is very beautiful.

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  Рік тому +1

      This is chalk based. Dry. These are not oil pastel. Soft pastel is chalk.

    Holaaa, en tu Patreon tienes clases para enseñar a pintar con pasteles? No entiendo inglés así que solo busco tutoriales de pintura para aprender a pintar.

    • @anduartist
      @anduartist  Рік тому +2

      No, it doesn't have videos specifically teaching pastels. Only longer videos of me working in pastels. I will likely make an intros to pastels video here on UA-cam in the future.

    • @Carla48435
      @Carla48435 Рік тому

      @@anduartist Are those longer videos of you painting with an AI? Or are they traditional pastel painting? Watching you work in the traditional way I can learn even if you don't explain what you do.
      Yesterday I bought a set of pastel paints after watching your videos, they have been my inspiration (although I don't understand a word of English). :)
      Where can I find those long videos of you painting in Pastel? In your Pàtreon ??I understood that it was just AI work and talks.

      @@Carla48435 I do have videos of me woking in pastels in the "videos" section of Patreon. They are about 10 minutes long each. I do also have a 4 hour video from me teaching an online workshop a few weeks ago on painting a portrait with pastels but its not on my patreon. It is available, though the price is higher. You can email me if you'd like for details.
