      Hahaha...sure...tell me what good guards, centers and DT are available?
      We could have drafted 2 starters in the first
      2 rounds...we got 2 good football players sure but they won't start(the T might this year has Armstead will get hurt ready this) but our offensive line is WORSE than it was last year and we are about to extend our QB to a massive deal doesnt seem to smart to me!
      Good we drafted 2 DEs and 2 small wide receivers and a RB?
      Grade of C

      @@gregorybeale Paul is Armstead's replacement who gets 1 year to understudy before Armstead retires in 2025. He'll be a swing tackle this year and the starting LT next year. That's your starter on a super cheap rookie deal, which is great because creating the cap room to pay Tua means a lot of veterans are getting cut for players on cheap or rookie deals.
      Robinson won't start, but the concept of a starting defender is irrelevant; what matters is what percentage of total defensive snaps he'll play. And he should play around 50% of defensive snaps, given that the Dolphins will be playing with a lead much of the time, putting the defense into pass rush mode more often than run defense mode. There's a reason why Grier drafted two pass rushers; the team will need them.
      To recap, the Dolphins added the #1 pass protector in the entire FBS, added another home run hitting RB, and added a WR with 110 catches last season. The offense will be even more explosive with less attrition from injuries; no more roster hackery like they had to do against Baltimore. In recognition that the offense will be more explosive and that the AFC is loaded with QB talent, they added two more pass rushers to help keep the other team from catching up on the scoreboard.
      It's a very smart draft. Get over the fact that the Dolphins value guards less than the fanbase, embrace the roster management that's going to keep the team competitive while clearing cap for Tua's eventual monster contract.

      @AwesomeCollections2 Місяць тому

      @gregorybeale dalton risner. Its already been reported Miami has reached out to a starting guard and told him they will be in touch. DT isn't so much of an issue due to the signings already made, a change of scheme and Zach Sieler.
      There will probably be two other veteran signings, maybe OBJ and Simmons.
      The key point is we maybe could have possibly had two starters in the first 2 rounds. 50% of first rounders don't work out, so it's a big leap to say two starters, an even bigger one to think they would be good year one starters

    Miami drafted from a position of values rather than needs. So many times a team will pass on players who should have gone off the board over 30 picks earlier only because they have positions they need to fill. Miami didn't do that. Especially on the 3rd day. They just went after the guys they had much higher up on their draft boards. I read where a scout from an AFC team was blown away with the players Miami got on day 3 even if they had stronger needs at other positions. Sure, O-line and D-line may be an issue, but god damn, this team is loaded at Edge, WR and RB. Miami is gonna be a problem for teams.

    A- is fair . It’s kinda hard to imagine they could’ve got more upside with any of the picks they made . This draft in 2 years could be awesome a bit of a gamble with the Paul pick you could’ve gone safe with a guard and got a average starter but if Paul and Chop are a average to above average starters this is a HR draft because on the 3rd day they killed it. Could’ve easily got a future starting RB, rotational edge and a starting slot WR.
    That’s 5 contributors doesn’t get much better than that

    All in all, I liked this draft. The top 2 picks were solid fits, and they killed it day 3. I know people were upset about Hunt and Wilkins, but Miami let them walk because those aren't positions you normally pay a premium for. Most teams would happily trade a DT and a guard for an edge rusher and a tackle.

  • @kurtwagner350

      The Dolphins are absolutely stacked three deep with free agent DT and NT. New MIA DC Weaver is expected to import the Ravens no-name rotating DL scheme.
      Grier prefers to bring in experienced free agent IOL who other teams have developed through their growing pains. I expect the Dolphins to sign LG Dalton Risner shortly to finish their OL.

    • @kurtwagner350
      @kurtwagner350 Місяць тому

      @@bartdepalma3820 You’re delusional if you think the Dolphins are “stacked” at IDL, they aren’t even a top 20 unit in the NFL let alone talented enough to consider themselves “stacked”. Idc what scheme the DC uses, there is no scheme that magically grants more talent to players then they have. On the OL front, it’s apparent they don’t see fit to invest in that group meaningfully. However this I would consider baffling given how your season went in the trenches when you had 3 pro bowl level OL players, who bullied when it mattered most against good defenses. 2/3 of those guys are gone and their replacements are inadequate to put it lightly thus far.

  • @RobertDouglasLW
    @RobertDouglasLW Місяць тому

    My perception is that, among Dolphins fans, many of us feel as though Robinson & Paul were a bit of a reach at 21 & 55, but they’ve both got high ceilings and are plus athletes for their positions. But past that, a lot of Dolphins fans are very excited about the offensive skill position players. Both WRs, who are both called Washington, feel like absolute steals given their draft spots. Wright is a prototypical McDaniel back but he’s in a crowded RB room. Kamara has a nuclear reactor for a motor. He’s already said he’s “very, very angry” that he fell to round 5. You have to like that kind of attitude in a pass rusher and, while I haven’t met the young man personally, he doesn’t seem like the kind of person you’d want to be angry with you.
    No one will know much of anything until next season starts at the earliest, but SoFL fans feel like we might’ve gotten some good value late in what was supposed to be a top heavy draft.
