    It's pretty surreal to see a city be so quiet and not much walkers. Keep on walking Shinichi! Great videos and insights on these unseen cities.👍🏾🤠

    27:05 Oh, I’m so glad your video was on my recommended list of videos! I lived in Tottori for 13 years. It was my first assignment to work in Japan and you passed my former school where I worked for 9 years! (Time stamp on comment) It was an all girls’ high school back then and it’s so exciting to see how it’s changed! The Bunka Kaikan that you passed was where the school held my farewell party. Sooooo many wonderful memories! Thank you so much for your lovely video which captured all the beauty and simplicity of Tottori City. 🥰It’s been way too long since I’ve been back ~your video has filled me with nostalgia and happiness! Thanks again!

    These types of videos where you're just kind of walking around showing us different areas of Japan like city centers and shops and local neighborhoods and parks where you are narrating and telling us about everything are my absolute favorite! I feel like I actually get to explore these places with you. Thank you so much for doing them! Also this one is particularly fun because it almost has an apocalyptic feel to it I guess because there's so few people around and so many shops are closed down. It almost feels like a different timeline than our current reality. Very interesting. Thank you Shinichi and I'm very sad to hear about the passing of one of your moderators. R.I.P. ❤️

    That was a lovely walk, Shinichi--very quiet and peaceful. I enjoy empty streets but i understand how odd that may feel in contrast to Tokyo. Thank you for taking us on a tour of Tottori's city center. I really enjoy the videos about less-visited locations.
    I'm _so_ sorry to hear that one of your faithful, hardworking, and treasured moderators has passed away.💔 As you say, that _is_ life, and yet the world always feels diminished by the loss of a kind and loving person. Prayers fly up for her, and for all who knew and cared for her--you and Satoshi included.🙏

      This city reminds me of the country of Laos. Laos is a low populated country with tropical climate. It is very quiet and you barely see any vehicles on the streets when you're outdoors. I was in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO heritage town. I like the French colonial architecture there.

    • @Scriptor13
      @Scriptor13 Рік тому

      @@OS253 The similarity you find is very interesting!😊 I know something of the topography, climate, culture, and politics of Laos but have never actually been there. I wouldn't have expected the cities to be quiet. I'd like to see the French Colonial architecture. I can imagine that the French influence is quite pronounced after 60 years of presence in Laos.

    It just amazes me how much trust Japanese people have in Japan. You will never have unmanned merchandise in America or other parts of the world. Everything will get stolen or vandalized.

    • @leonardticsay8046
      @leonardticsay8046 Рік тому +5

      Their trust is in Japanese people who have been brought up in the Japanese monoculture. That’s why they trust each other so much.

      Its the culture and accountability. It SHOULD be like this everywhere. Unfortunately politics, greed, capitalism ruin america. Divide between rich and poor makes it to where the distrust is so deep rooted and will likely never be fixed and the racial divide in america also plays a prominent role.

    Shinichi, thanks for the walking tour! Wow, looks like most of the population has moved away. We have hundreds of cities and towns in the USA that similiar thing has happened. I am glad to see the streets are clean and crime is non existant.

    Thank you for the video. I was sad to see what was going on in the Tottori downtown. You made a comment that it reminded you of an old US western town. Well a lot of those turned into ghost towns. Is it that the population of Tottori is very elderly and they don't do restaurants annd bars and fashion stores? In the US there are plenty of examples. People leave, they have everything delivered, it makes for ghost towns....

    The 2nd bridge is decorated with Stars of David ✡️. Does that design mean something in Japan, other than being a Jewish symbol, or does that bridge have religious significance?
