Ironically the better one here 39226 is withdrawn and 39221 still going. In Stagecoach Strathtay land up here we have some ADL E400MMC’s that are B5LH’s and they are a bit ropey with the electrics so quite a few of them have been changed to diesel only mode
As these are the buses that run on one of my local routes (in London) which I use very often, I have grown to like them. I do find the about of vibrations from the engine unacceptable, however.
In Leeds City Transport days Regents and PDS Were used on Moor Town and Shadwell in the 60s in 1967 There were Replaced by Leyland Atlanteans and Daimler Fleetlines In the 80s Atlanteans and Olympians were used on theses Routes and in the 90s -21st Century Volvo Scania and MCW Metrobus and Alexander Striders and Dennis Lances and Darts and Plaxton Beavers Then Followed by Northern Counties Olympians From Bradford 5180-5185 Followed by Alexander Royale and Volvo ALX 400S In 1998 and Optare Solos ETC But things nothing last for ever
The only thing I can relate to is Lothian country subsidiary of Lothian buses had 4 of these Volvo B5LH in use 13 plates I believe all of them are now back in England 🏴 but Lothian do have a large number of wright bus B5LH street deck hybrids in service and 49 single decker hybrids 7900s I’ve only ever travelled on the York hybrids but I’ll admit I liked the ones first have in service in England 🏴
The Cost of new batteries to the MPG ratio compared to a normal diesel, wasn't worth replacing so the whole of First Group scrapped a lot of them which is a shame brilliant buses in my opinion and only 10 years old a waste

Brilliant vehicles to drive, luckily enough I’ve had the pleasure to drive 39225 on guideway training!!
Gonna miss the B5LHs for Leeds. R.I.P 😢
Already missing them
You should try the hybrid E400’s at Wolverhampton and the hybrid Gemini’s at Birmingham
Gutted the Leeds B5LHs are being withdrawn from FWY to be honest, liked these hybrids 😢
Was in Leeds last week delivering saw the a few kites and the electric street deck.
@Robstew9000 There’s a ton of electric ⚡️ Street decks
@@2025bbyt yes had a look at fleet list for bramley nearly all electric and to think when I left there in 1999 they were still running atlanteans..
Is it only me , or is the audio weird at random points because it only happens on and more central vlogs, no one else.
But anyway great video alex

The Go North East B5LHs are going too sadly 😢
Those hybrids won’t be missed. Same with the Bramley StreetLites.
why did they retire
