Agree with you Bobby. But sadly in Malaysia, very less or none of the manufacture bring in performance sedan to our market. For example, this civic. Other countries offers the 1.5T 6sp manual transmission. It handles well, but don’t drives well for those that really appreciate driving.
Personally I choose sedans over suv mainly because of the sleek and sporty look compared to a suv which makes it look like a tank

2:45 are you referring to the Pirelli Cinturato P7? As those came equipped with my family’s mini when I got it. In my experience the one good thing about it is the somewhat decent wet grip only
Yes! Cinturatos, those dont bring out the best of MINI's handling capabilities. Acceptable daily tyres for a Corolla, but certainly not a good one to be used on MINIs.

You mean the Pirelli Cinturato P7 correct? Yeah, wet grip was poor and road feel also lacking. But one nice thing with poor grip is, on wet surfaces, you just need to apply a bit more throttle than is necessary to slide the rear tyres (of course this is on a RWD car lah). Which is a lot of fun at a relatively slow pace. If you had a lot of grip, you have to apply even more throttle, and it could end up scarier cos you are going faster before you can slide the rear tyres 😀 Having said that, the Michelin PS4 are damn good tyres. Wish the RFT ones are cheaper though, and come with 245/18 size here.

No challenge, but the Giti S1 Sport is quiet and comfy and performs ok. I would say it matches that of Toyo TR1 and better than Pirelli Cinturato but definitely not in the same league as the PS4

fun fact (not sure if it applies to other people) the car handle vastly different with the seat height low vs high. i can never drive the civic with the seat set to high it's aweful in corner. whenever i jump into one of friends to drive, the i will always bring the seat down almost to the lowest point.
the lowest point is too low for me at 171cm... i need to bring it up a little bit else my eye line will level with the dashboard
Its because the seat doesnt hold well. So if you sit high up, generally your body motion will be more than when you lower your seat thus you felt as if the car rolls more.

Toyo Proxes CF2. Good grip wet and dry, resistance aquaplaning, good hardbraking, good treadwear and decent nvh. Essentially a gran touring tire yet with overlapping UHP performance tire

i bought my 1.8 civic in 2016 because of u bobby [reviewing the FC 1st gen] and it's been serving me great! the only complain is getting in and out for elderly..other then that it will appeal to most ppl
Mazda 3 also low and uncomfortable lah. Many old people complain.
My other complaint is rattling dahsboard...
but it's not for old people. it's for people who love Alfa Romeo but don't want a car that breaks down ... :p
Bobby Ang in Singapore Mazda 3 is a very common grab car so it’s a lot of old people taking it from an old bone passenger point of view. Because it’s commonly bulk sold to car rental companies for rental to grab drivers, other car owners will more likely buy Honda because they don’t want to be seen in the same league as rental cars.

I realize since the civic launched why it is slightly spacious than Altis cause the civic seat is too thin and small with less tigh support unlike Altis has much better comfort seats.

Had the honda civic 1.5 and now the mazda 3 2.0. The civic wins in terms of engine power (turbo) but that's just it. Everything is up on another level for the Mazda 3. By the way, that CVT is good on paved flat roads but the lag uphill is not that enjoyable at all.

Actually the cvt doesnt lag. This cvt can upshift like dual clutch if u know how kick in the pedal fast. I nvr had any problem uphill for the pas 3 yrs of owning this.
@@1992vinod I find it better than most CVTs maybe because the 1.5T complements it but in my ownership I realized it still has cvt feels compared to conventional AT.
@@Nico-kz6sg cvt rubber effect can nvr be remove. Well, i wont complain bout it coz for the price i brought back 2017, it was the most highest feature car with the lowest price tag. Back then, mazda3, corolla, jetta were low in features. Dont even have android auto back then. Honda, threw in everything nicely except for the gearbox.
Agree with u. As this civic user, i think this Civic is good in term of performance and fuel saving only but not for comfort and handling. Suspension is too soft as well. Seat position is too low. Not practical and not enjoyable in driving feel.
Kia Cerato K3 is also one of the earliest "fastback" lookalike.

However, for me the suspension is soft and sometimes u can feel that the car whobbling. In handling, u can feel that it is not stiff enough until I dont feel that this C segment car. However, u may go to the nearest showroom. Feel it by urself. This is just my opinion.

@@AsyrafSabry There is no perfect tyre, man. Cuma ada tayar yang seimbang. Jadi, kena bergantung kepada keutamaan encik dan cara pemanduan encik. Kalao wak rasa grip kat Primacy tak cukup, pergi je PS4, tapi memang ada kompromi dari segi NVH, keselesaan dan ketahanan.

Asyraf Sabry my civic used PS4 but like mentioned by Ling, its seems to deteriorate at faster rate compare to my Goodyear which i put on my Myvi. But the grip is Outstanding, but my views cant be viewed as the benchmark as that is the tyre that i have been using since i bought it. The factory fit it with PS3

I went to view and test drive a CIvic Turbo and nearly bought it. Lucky, I went to view and test drive the top spec Mazda 6. The Civic is such a poorly built car.
