I worked at a radio station in the late 80s that had all the Jandek LPs in the record library...at one point a friend and I went into a local record store in Tampa, FL, and they had two sealed copies of this one in the dollar bin! I still have mine...
yeah i got that one too eventually, and Interstellar Discussion, which rarely comes up for sale. Had to stop with the Jandek collecting and be satisfied with what I had. Lately I've been into original pressings of classic albums in good shape and japanese pressings with the obi strip. Record collecting is a ridiculous rabbit hole lol.
not really, it's just some of this stuff takes a while to be appreciated. Morrisey put it best, it takes deaths for artists to be recognized, it's once they're gone that you see the obituaries and mentions in Rolling Stone and the Guardian, the documentaries, the tribute albums, compilations... etc. No matter how weird, obscure, cult or avant-garde an artist may be it always happens, hell if they are all of the above then their death will really propel them since they already have the mythology and legend status to heighten the art. It's sad but that's just how it is for these kinds of artists. I would love a world where they live to get their flowers and everyone feels their influence while they are alive and not when they are no longer among us
There’s something soul crushing about this song. It’s the sound of crying and wailing for someone you know can’t come back.
This guy is gonna be huge.
Huge asshole, probably.
@@cakesnatcher4541 The coordinator of Corwood Industries has always been quite courteous to me regarding orders placed, of which I've been satisfied.
This makes me feel things the way few other songs ever have. And if that isn't the indicator of good art, I don't know what is.

O.D. Jones Lucky! I recently paid almost $100 for one. The most I've paid for a single disc record.
@@chillepalmerz how does it feel to be a dumbass who pays 100$ for some garbage persons musical "talent"
@@chillepalmerz currently convincing myself not to drop $75 on a copy of blue corpse LOL

This is great! I never heard JanDek so soulful! it also shows he has 'range'.
If being a shitty musician is 'range', sure.

Sterling is a genius. If he led a cult, I'd happily join.

This is so great
Some of the best artists that sing about sad stuff are half never remembered because some people don't like thinking about that and some do.

Really accessible, for the Rep at least.
Kenneth Higney energy. Love it.

Strangely reminds me of Dylan's Blonde on Blonde...Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, perhaps?
Absolutely. It's like a musical erasure. I've always thought that about this song too.
Seriously, Bobby Dylan hears this and cries. Who even knows how to touch this song?
reminds me of alvarius b from sun city girls. wow, great music...
It' sounds like me when I'm blackout drunk.
He might’ve been
had jandek even listened to his own albums
reminds me of gene clarks some misunderstanding kinda
What genre is this?!
don't know,?
"outsider art" "lofi" but really, it's just Jandek

It’s simple singer songwriter blues
him singing out of key doesn’t make it a special genre
I was looking for the style of the music he was singing, should've been more specific. Thank you, Navigator.
According to Wikipedia it's Lo-fi and folk blues.
Who else is watching this on their Galaxy Note 7
ME!
Farkin' hell, there's err, chord changes...! BTW everyone, remember to put bees in your ears
