Re the new space-- life is short, bro. I say put everything in one space. It’s also cheaper by and large. No travel time, no extra bills. Sure, it's smaller. But that's what modular mounts are for (VESA trays, monitor arms), etc. My space is small, too. Gotta do what I can. Everyone loves negative space but sometimes a tight studio with everything within arms' reach is just so satisfying.

You’re right… Downsizing to a smaller place again really doesn’t bother me at all. I’m just thankful for my health and that I’ll be able to keep making beats and videos. Doing it from a new basement studio will be great too!

First, IT'S AWESOME hearing about the positive results on the 2nd scan.
Secondly, I couldn't imagine not having a studio at home, being able to randomly go to my "space" and instantly move on an urge or an idea.

We had no doubts about that you would beat brain tumor but it is really great to hear regardless! Congratulations!!🥳🥳
Regarding to studio space; I think once you have a convenience of having studio space at home, it is really hard to replace it.
You can, in time, spoil yourself by having 2 studios, 1 at home for light work and creative stuff and another one somewhere else for serious stuff. That is what works best for me at the moment.

I’ve thought about something like that too - different places for different projects but I think my next step here is to make the most out of my future basement studio. If I need something more in the long run, I’ll definitely look into it.

I have had my "studio" at home for many years. Very small space but it is the best decision ever. I can play something everyday, before breakfast, after dinner or in the middle of the night. Very inspiring to be able to access my instruments at anytime! Good luck with the move! And I´m glad to hear that you are healthy!

Excellent news on all fronts. I can relate as I am pulling out of 2 separate studios I was paying for, because of the realization that my now separate music and art studios at home are more than enough - they're perfect for me at this stage 👌

Health is sucha deeply personal matter, from "Why me?" and "Why it had to be this?" to "How do you actually fight the damn thing?". And although we can conceptualise what is happening, our mind is really not equiped to understand cellular level events - so it worries about the outcome A LOT. Not having this worry anymore is a HUGE relief! Also, makes other circumstances instantly lighter to deal with. Awesome news Accurate! 👍
(And yeah, I agree, not having the immediacy of the studio presence right where you are plays a significant role in not actually being active in it. I had a studio/shop space 10 minute drive away from my residence - sometimes it was weeks between visits there cos life would find many hoops to keep me away. Live and learn 😉)
You’re completely right. I’ve never wanted to go too deeply into the worrying and the anxiety this entire process created but it’s been really rough to deal with this mentally.
The meaning of getting this type of confirmation is impossible to describe to people who hasn’t been through something similar but definitely a huge relief! Thank you for acknowledging that!
(And yeah) I kinda knew that could feel like this with the new studio but I didn’t expect it to be this apparent, this quickly. The sudden bursts of creativity is apparently really important for me and just the 4 minute drive has been enough of a threshold that I’ve been scrolling Instagram instead of making music…
The new house and the basement is gonna be great. Now I’ve tried and now I know.

That is amazing news about your brain tumor man. I had a health scare and it’s not pretty. But I would say it taught me to appreciate making music and being a musician so much more because of it.
