This picture transmits so much peace… I can think of the gold age of being in 1970s or 1980s, with better life quality and job opportunities, social interaction with no cellphones and disco nights
"Better life quality and job opportunities" for who exactly? I'm no expert on the socioeconomic climate of the 70s-80s, but something tells me that the idea of a "gold age" in the past is tinted by rose colored glasses
For me personally, if I close my eyes and listen to this, I travel back in time... Maybe at age 9-10-11, I'm calmly following my mother through the clothing section of a big store like Sears or K-Mart and some music similar to this would be playing in the store's distant, low quality speakers as she casually browsed through the clothing racks. The carpet floors littered with ripped off tags and hangers, the smell of cheap perfume in the air from the nearby fragrance counter, occasionally crossing the mirrors in the aisles and briefly stopping to look at myself out of boredom... On some good days, when she was done browsing, she would say something like: "Ok, all done here, want to stop by the McDonald's before we leave?"... When I was IN THEM, I actually found those kinds of days really boring and couldn't wait to get home to play Nintendo... but looking back, these ordinary moments with the ones you love are actually the best things in life...
when i listen to this, it makes me think of a 70's/80's paradise, sitting in a beach house living the life without problems and that time periods culture floating everywhere
Original song is Vanessa Williams: Dreamin Edit: I was wrong the original version is by "Guin". there's came out in 86 Vanessa's version came out in 88.
Listening to this, a few days after a 6 year breakup, in a now quiet house after getting a big promotion this morning but not having the person there I want to really celebrate that with. Bittersweet
Even after all of these years, this is still the song I always come back to. To me, this is one of the best vaporwave songs of all time. It invokes all of the right feelings and emotions. The gif in the video is just the cherry on top
Makes me feel like I'm a kid again, walking through snowy Manhattan with my mom, aunts, brothers and cousins on Christmas Eve in 1998. Window shopping all the high end toy stores all the way from Penn Station to Rockefeller Center and back. So many dope, elaborate train sets and human-sized action figures.
"Dream", huh... I wonder what my childhood dream is... I mean, now i've became a boring person with no purpose to enjoying tomorrow's life, i kinda want to know what is my own dream.

@probability_density the 80s were the height of the economy in America as for today, I don't think we're doing too good
@@zachbohemian Inflation was 5x what it is today in 1980. You are very much mistaken. Reagan did not make it any better during his 8 year run.
amen
Pero sin un teléfono celular no estarías escuchando esta joya de canción

Same :) ... we can't go back to the past... must cherish the present and look forward to the future... sad but must move onwards...

Imagine driving a DeLorean DMC-12 in Miami at night when this song plays.
A guy can dream, can't he?
I'd change the Delorean to a 1984 Porsche 944.
I'd be playing Power of Love while driving a Delorean.
I Drive a 1987 Corvette with digital clusters to this jam.
