I am happy to say I knew AJ and he was honestly one of the nicest genuine guys ever, he is missed very much, especially here on Long Island

This guy is a legend! Been a huge fan since '82 (after i saw them on The Tube, which he mentions here), and i always loved his drumming! Great interview, and one of the good guys of the world. So sad to hear the news today, of his passing!! Thanks for all the memories and music!! RIP Tony (A.J.) \m/

I met AJ two different times in the 1980's. Once in Bangor, Maine at a drum clinic, and once in California at the NAMM show. He was fun to hang-out with and just a great guy. Much continued success, Mr. Pero.

C'mon man, four years have passed and still no part 2. You don't necessarily need an imac to do the editing. That's history and I think you should upload part two in memory of AJ. Thank you for part 1, it was a great interview.
All of the footage is in NY in a storage locker and I live in Florida now. The footage is also all on a hard drive that was formatted for an iMac. So it’s not as easy as just “editing it”. I hope to get up to NY and get the hard drives one of these days.
Great interview and fantastic tips!!
Thank you for you kind words! I'm glad you liked the interview Janet! I'm working on part 2. I just found the hard drive and hope to have it done in the next six months. :D Subscribe and you'll be notified!
I wish your mic was working... Great interview. One of my best friends toured with Santana during the 80's. He told me great stories.
Guru Chuckle I haven’t watched this in years. Was the mic not on?
A. J Pero forever in y metal heart
This guy is great! Fantastic behind the scenes stuff! Where the hell is part two? Hello, part two, part two! Has anybody seen part two?
Mi Michael! I have part two! I never ended up posting it because I didn't think anyone cared (my show didn't exactly get picked up by tv haha). I'm only now really seeing all these comments! It's all on my old mac computer, and when I can afford to buy a new mac, I plan to find all the other footage and post it here. For all of AJ's fans who have come here to watch this video. Thanks for your patience. I will post it as soon as I can!

R.I.P. AJ !!!
I miss my favorite drummer A.J💔😭
Most of the drummers on Staten Island in the 70s were in awe of Tony's playing. I recall seeing him in 1975/6 at a high school where he was with a band that did Chicago covers. He and I went to St. Peter's High School together and were both kicked out for long hair later enrolling in New Dorp High School where long hair was permitted. He told me once he made an appearance on Johnny Carson at a young age. Wish this clip was online. RIP Tony.

Nice work with the interview! How's it going with part II?
Thanks very much! As for part two, I need a new iMac in order to edit it. My current computer is quite slow. I hope I can get the new computer in 2020 and make it happen. I know many people have been waiting a long time.
Nice video
Thank you Riya!
Cool interview!!

definitely a new sub :)
Have you posted part 2?
I haven’t. I am saving up money to purchase an iMac and hope to post part 2 of all the interviews in 2021 or 2022. Thanks for your interest Abigail!
Ha, my band opened for them at the North stage Theater!
Ray Josephs That’s really cool Ray! What a great honor to have done so. Wish I could see a video!
@@monroemann ... I wish there was video footage myself.
But I can tell you this. While my band was playing, I looked to my left and just off stage was Dee Snyder and what turned out to be Gene Simmons. The both were heavily watching me play drums. From what I later found out, Gene was considering me as an audition for Kiss HOWEVER, because Dee and the singer of my band were friends that consideration got swept under the carpet. I never found out until AFTER I left the band that opened for T.S.
So how is that, for having bad luck!
Priscilla Harriette (PHB) was the band I was in at that time that played the North Stage in Connecticut.
I still have my back stage pass ID for that show.
And more...myself and the two guitarist left PHB to start the conception of Cinderella.
Ray Josephs Great story. Bad luck happens but everything happens for a reason. Maybe you would have OD’d if you had been selected! Maybe you can write a letter to Dee and Gene? I’m sure they’d remember!
A killer drummer. He hit hard
RIP

Ask tony (AJ) about the time he tied meatface to a chair with the help of Mark and Ritchie, lit a bonfire underneath him, then threw cherry tomatoes at him as he
sizzled. He had a good time in California, and with fun like that its a wonder he ever left. Long live the Bonimo Kid!!
