- Disclaimer: The following is just my opinion and may not reflect your experience. I am an affiliate of Unikeys but I purchased these switches.
The Strawberry Wine v2 switches by Sarokeys, manufactured by BSUN, are what I consider to be close to plug-and-play switches; the factory lubing is sufficient enough that I wouldn't consider hand lubing these myself, other than to either spring swap all or re-lube some springs. Some of the switches have a minor amount of spring crunch if you listen very closely. I found that the handful of switches I opened up had a pretty consistent (and almost too generous) coat on the sliders that was reflected in the consistently smooth keystrokes. These are definitely on the deeper side of the long pole switches that I have tried. I am more so impressed by BSUN after trying these than I was after their BCPs, but they have a little ways to go before they match the quality of HMX's lubing process.
The v2 SSW differs from the original in a few ways. The first thing I noticed was the inclusion of an RGB diffuser - a welcomed addition for those RGB fans. The most notable change(s) however are the completely different thermoplastics used in every component of the switch. The top housing has changed from POM to LY, the bottom housing from "Nylon" to "Modified PA12" (still nylon though), and the stem has changed from "Modified UMPE" to Y3. I am not too sure of the implications of these changes on typing sound and feel, as I have never tried the original Strawberry Wine switches, but these seem like a completely different switch. Oh yeah, they come with a heavier spring and a slightly shorter travel distance too.

Have this exact same config, it’s so clacky haven’t heard any other board with this sound signature. Arc60 is goated
Such good value
hahahaha /kekw irl at the intro
Was it engraved with "Saro x geon" at the switch?
Yup!
does jwk make these? theres jwk like spring crunch sounds
They're manufactured by BSUN. I honestly didn't notice the spring crunch until you mentioned it but I think that you're right. Thanks for pointing it out! I've updated my writeup in the description. This could be something that worsens over time, but spring swapping or adding lube to the springs would be a fix.
@@keebscape yeah i recognize those sounds anywhere. previous bsun switches never exhibited this. altho the light diffusers on the switches appear a lot like the jwk molds they are using for their lotus switches. black lotus was one of the worst switches i have ever come across. hopefully bsun isnt using their molds or manu. the v1 ssw switch is completely different, i dare say these have nothing to do with em other than color. its a shame they are discontinued, the SSW v1 are goated switch. i wont be touching these ones. thanks for the testing though, HMX on the other hand, current favorite switch manu.
@@shylocutus it’s definitely becoming more evident as I type on them. I haven’t ever tried the v1s but I’ll pick some up on your recommendation! I recently got some BSUN BCPs that were pretty damn crunchy. Also I definitely agree on HMX, my fav too
@@shylocutus how does the spring crunch sound? I'm quite new to this
if you cant hear it in the video, thats good. once u hear it, u cant unhear it and get very picky with switches@@potynawowasanhee8073
Is it really that loud
It’s impossible to say haha
Best way is to wear headphones, lower volume until background noise matches your own, then you will have at least somewhat kinda half-decent idea of volume of the switcg
What's your wpm?😊
anywhere btwn 80 and 120 depending on how much caffeine is in me
bro what is with the right handed index spacebar presses
I use a combination of my thumbs and index finger, as I find it most comfortable (this is not a hard conclusion to land on, but it seems you need some help) following an injury that damaged a nerve in my hand, making repeated thumb presses difficult
