literally guys, do not engage the after market at this point especially for Geon. he literally schedule and pump out extra units time to time, the keeb hobby is a long game, dont stress out.
I used a clackier switch in mine but the original V1.1 plate - and has blown every single one of my keyboards out the water. I love this keyboard to bits.
i have the f1-8x v1 right now and i have so far not found a board that sounds even close to how good it does, and feels as good
i might consider v2
really hard to beat the sound of f1 8x v2. you can beat the front height/angle though lol

Honestly I like its nice and clean. Quote from the great Leonardo de Vinci , Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. I wouldn't pay over the market price but if had opportunity to buy one at market price I would. I am broke after buying the neson 810e so hopefully he doesn't have sale on them any time soon.
Never used 9deg/19mm but the PLX is 7deg/20mm and I initially thought I wouldn't like it because I'm used to the Ciel which is like 6deg/18.something mm, but it's surprisingly comfortable and easy to adapt. The larger front height I think also contributes to it having a little more internal room for the sound to reverberate and gives it a great fantastic clacky gasket sound, way before designers like Singa were designing gasket boards that fit that sound profile. The fact it's designed by an Australian duo also makes me happy to be an Aussie. I got mine secondhand BNIB for an absolute steal and I will never be selling it, this will remain in my collection forever.
I'm pretty sure the v1.1 plate is made of 5052 aluminum as well.
Something about Kailh Burgundy Pro stems that really make for a deeper sound. Spacebar is absolutely perfect!
despite being a bit rare, kailh razer oranges should be pretty cheap if you get lucky enough to find the right razer board to harvest.
a little bit of luck but shouldn't be too expensive!
AFAIK, the V2 and the 722 sound is basically the same. They both share the same profile with typing angle and front height, so luckily if you like the sound of the V2 you'd probably like the 722 sound too!
(not me coping because I have a 722 or anything)
Just want to say, the 722 is stunning, and i would much rather have the 722. Since I don't have any of them, I will be buying the v2 in the upcoming GB
@@oscarsanchez298 man, the 722 is too big, the F1 is so heavy already and 722 with that tofu design is really difficult to lift up. Design aesthetic, I prefer the 8X with raw bottom or PC bottom, the v2 is okay
After being apart of the F1-8x v2 Regal drop incident that lasted 20 seconds, I folded and bought a 722 off someone for $450. Hopefully the sound is just as good as the v2.
I was watching the page as it dropped (didn’t plan to buy one) and I swear they were all gone within 10 seconds lol

@@ChiefBrianIrons yeah, it was the first time I tried sniping a geon board so I severely underestimated the amount of people who had the same idea as me lol
I didn't even bother because when saw the number of units I knew my chances are slim to none. Also wouldn't be surprised people used bots I don't know if the Geon site uses simple captcha when buying a keyboard
I tried to buy, there was catchapa. I also did not get one, gone within 30 sec.

I joined the GB for one silver/ gray and one burgundy 😂 sure it’s a bit boring but it’s the only board I know of that is finally not budget board I only have budget boards lots of them wanted to try out a higher end board a endgame board what ever that is 😂
I'm using the exact frankenswitches. They feel great, the leaf ping might be a bit too much though lol. Did you lube the leaf or anything to reduce the leaf crunch?

Where did you get the custom plate from? Not sure what DDS is .
DDS is a manufacturer in China. There are also a ton of vendors offering custom keyboard plate cutting services
Some improvements I found to make f2 sounds better. Plateless + maybe buy a custom feet to lift up the case abit. F2 and frog feets make the spacebar terrible.
i didn't like plateless on any of the f1 boards i've tried. haven't tried it on f2 iirc

@@AndyVNguyen probably switch between the two or i get another pcb in the future if i feel like having it built, i got extra plates from experimenting with the 722.
I disagree about the 722 not holding up to the original. They sound the same.

i personally think Geon should stay away from trying to 'aesthetically' upgrade the F1 line, cause he honestly sucks at it. That curvy bottom housing just feels... out of place. For me, what made F1-8X(88) a cult classic that it is was its simple design bordering on brutalism. In this regard 722 was a successor in some regard (disregarding the sound signature). V2 kinda feels like a cop-out.
