Ordered one, intend to use it as a key light for portrait videos, and to also eventually move away from using dual ring lights

did you attached it with your camera on a gimbal and used it also in events other than portraits?

@@Poppinmetyer24 I currently have it attached to desk mounted camera stand. Works like a charm

@@Poppinmetyer24 excellent, has a good battery life. With it being compact, I didn't have to make any sacrifices with my carry on equipment and I see it lasting for a while thanks to its solid build

Is it possible to have the charger connected while The lamp is on? So the lamp can be brightest for how long you like?
Does the lamp remember The settings after turning it off? Or so I have to do all The settings every time i want ro use it?

Yes! You can connect a USB C cable to a PC port for example and it runs forever. Tried and works!

      @@pr1sm55does it not overheat?

Never did for me. Longest I did was 5 hours. You can also power it with a battery pack such as the Anker PowerCore III. Most important thing is to not drop it with the USB-C cable connected - that will break the port.@@EllaRivera

Should have added not at full power, that I do not know if it would overheat. But it's pretty bright at 50%.

No it’s not magnetic. But it can be screwed to something like a tripod

could u slap a soft box around this for a better key light on the go?

Yes you can, another option would be to use a small lamp base with no bulb in it, just set the Vl120 upside down where the bulb normally screws in and you have any color lamp you want. I use this technique a lot

Looks like this is a white lable product ... identical, down to the packaging, to the Ulanzi VL120 light.
