I got this exact size and storage in addition to my MacBook Pro for my grad school program and it’s a lifesaver to have that extra screen real estate for all my reading and note taking that comes with the course loads.
Thanks man! I think it all depends on what you are planning to do with the machine, they both have their perks but at the same time they both are capable machines
I’ve a 11 inch iPad Air, I just got the air cuz I didn’t wanted to fight with the voices in my head over 11 or 12.9 inch pros, I guess will have the battle when the new pro iPads are launched 😂
So jumping forward to now, are you still using the 12.9 ? Do you stand by your decision or regret and wish you kept with the 11? Been debating for a month weather I want to upgrade or not LOL
Hey Zack! Great info video! I need your help - I use my iphone 90% of the time & only use my HP laptop (junk!) for a quick Word & Excel doc a couple times a yr, would you suggest the iPad or Macbook ?
Hey hope you’re doing good! Well it depends, if you use your iPhone 90 percent of the time then you can basically think of the iPad as being a large display phone. The OS between the 2 are basically the same with the iPad having the ability to attach accessories, in my opinion I wouldn’t think you would need a proper laptop just to work on some documents s couple of times a year, you can download the apps on iPad and just do your work on there. Now I own both and they are both phenomenal machines but if you are more of a content consumer and not using the device as a work horse then I say the iPad is the way to go. Don’t forget you can attach a keyboard magnetically and use the new iPads as “computers” I have a review of a Logi keyboard that I feel like is the best bang for you’re buck on my channel, check that out!
Is it worth to get the cellular over wifi model for 12.9”? I’m still considering which one should I get. Another concern is about the weight and it looks bulky when I bring it outside my home even a distance going to work at the office. I do love bigger screen size but it’s quite hard to make decision 😂
If you will primarily be using it at places that have wifi (home or work) then the wifi model would be fine. If you want to have internet everywhere you go like a cell phone when you will want to have the cellular model (don’t forget you will have to have a monthly plan as well just like a phone) I have the wifi model and love it, as for the weight, after about 2 days of use you won’t even notice the weight increase over smaller models. The screen is much worth the weight
What about the weight of the 12.9 compared to the 11 inch? Is there much of a real world difference when holding the devices for longer periods of time? I’m just thinking about scenarios where it might not be possible to set the iPad on a desk. Cheers man, great video!
Yes, There is a noticeable difference in weight, I could tell a big difference especially when I added a case (using the Logitech Combo Touch). The Ipad as a whole with the keyboard case probably weighs as much as a laptop of the same quality and size. Holding it in the hands honestly isn't that bad though, I think its an aspect you will get used to after a few days and not notice anymore. Also to note, I use mine a lot without the keyboard just lounging and it's fine. The keyboard weighs bout the same as the Ipad itself. I have been using my Ipad for over a week now and It doesn't bother me at all. If having a larger display with more multitasking room is what you are after, its definitely the way to go. Thank you for the kind words, spread the word I am trying to grow my channel!
I’m debating pulling the trigger and trading in my 11in iPad Pro for the 12.9 2021 iPad Pro that is on a great sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I love my iPad, but am wondering if the additional screen real estate and upgraded screen is worth it…
100 percent worth it, I owned the 11” when I bought and tried the 12.9 and ended up giving away the 11”. The screen on the 12.9 is one of the best I’ve looked at
Just got mine in the mail today. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
Do you recommend any video or photo editing apps? I haven’t tried photoshop or premier Rush/ pro on the 11 inch iPad I currently have but I’ve used on my windows PCI haven’t used Final Cut Pro ever. Would you say it’s easier to learn than adobe PP?
I would highly reccomend Adobe Lightroom for iPad for image editing, it’s super easy to use. And I personally use photoshop and Lightroom on for my work, and I edit my videos with final cut. 100% reccomend final cut over Premier Pro, a lot easier to understand and get the hang off of a beginner and it’s a one time purchase fee, vs lifetime payments through Adobe for their products. I use the photography plan where I get photoshop and Lightroom and pay yearly. Final cut is free with updates after the initial purchase of the app
I'm going buy the space grey 12.9 inch 512GB WIFI only for a person I know. I suggested she have that because of her doing lots of video contents. She also edits videos too. I really want her to have the 2,000GB one but it's too high. I will be getting that for her. Plus it's her first time having an iPad.
That is awesome! I’m sure she will really like it. I agree on the storage options being priced too high, you could always look into getting her an external storage hard drive that is USB-C to use with the iPad. That could be a way to have more storage later down the road, but will obviously have to be plugged in to use
Not specifically, most of the keyboards on the market that fit it are all roughly the same size. You would benefit from the 12.9 model though because the keyboards are slightly larger than the 11” variant

How are you storing your document files for grad school, flash drive, SSD, or none?
Good video! I got a 12.9 ipad pro m1 after debating getting it or a macbook. but i am happy with my purchase

I had 10.5 pro and upgraded to 12.9, very happy!, its a monster!,

I don’t blame you lol I love the 12.9 once I got used to it, don’t think I could go back to the 11
You could get a case that you can put the Magic Keyboard
So jumping forward to now, are you still using the 12.9 ? Do you stand by your decision or regret and wish you kept with the 11?

@@foothills1008how you finding the 12.9 ? And what about the weight of the device on couch or in bed do you get sore arm or neck or shoulder?
Awesome video!

Thank you, glad I could help! Let me know how you like it
@@TechGearwithZack so far have been loving the 12.9 inch iPad. The screen on this is the best I’ve ever seen.

Bigger is better🥶🥶🥶
Are you from South Carolina?
North Carolina!
Hey for a guy with sausage fingers would you recommend a specific keyboard? Besides the apple version, too expensive.

What accent is that?
No idea 😂😂 I guess north cakalaki
The 12.9 doesn’t have a better battery life.
