- The breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe is known worldwide, but that beauty is fading. The entire Lake Tahoe basin is an ecosystem under considerable stress. Today, scientists from UC Davis, University of Nevada, Reno, and other federal and state agencies say the lake, one of the deepest and bluest on Earth, has less than 30 years before pollution turns it green. This documentary examines the expanding scientific exploration of the Lake Tahoe and a look at how humans can be included in a sustainable natural environment for future generations. I remember watching this video in highschool
As someone deeply interested in studying Tahoe's environmental history, I want to congratulate everyone involved in this project on a job well done: You successfully condensed a daunting amount of history and controversy and science into to a half-hour of thought-provoking entertainment. I just wish I could require every single visitor and resident in the Basin to watch it(and to ponder what their own role in forming the those "rings of hope" will be).
Great video - very informative & well put together - I learned alot - thank you!
