Was a member during these days and still am.There was so much pressure not to just get Port in the AFL but to keep winning premierships here and they did that. John Cahil will probably always be my favourite coach he always had teams primed at the right time of the year and was a very engaging man to members
Crows supporters refuse to acknowledge how many ex Port Adelaide players they had in their premiership sides. Wouldn’t have won those premierships without them.
Didn’t know about Port paying players to stay in the SANFL. Of course it was the right thing to do. The AFL clubs weren’t going to give them any worthwhile concessions once they were in
In some ways this was the AFL equivalent of those several big European soccer teams trying to break away and form the European Super League, and being held to account by their respective national leagues for it. Difference being that the AFL already existed unlike the ESL.
The AFL was the VFL, all they did was change their name. The EPL could just change their name to the European Premier League and pretend its the biggest competition.
@Highbudget the right thing to do??? It was illegal mate!. That's why they were ostracised by SA for it. The only ones that think it was right was port supporters. SA still hates port and forever will.

We don't refuse to acknowledge it at all mate, we absolutely love it.
I doubt that's the case

Right thing to do lol classic Port response. Cheat.... it's the right thing to do
Actually Norwood and Stuart also started the talks with the AFL
They were to merge but didn't make the meetings.
Port Adelaide did
"Teal is a really popular colour amongst kids and women" wow. Bro predicted hatsune miku lol

The difference is that Port going into the AFL was the right thing to do

It's not remotely similar and I have no idea how anyone could think that.
