This technique isn’t new at all lol it’s called a partial-sew in or sew in. Very popular within the African American community,. I get sew ins all the time. I’m glad to see more salons learning and teaching others how to do it!

Don't a lot of women have problems with losing their hair from sew ins? I thought that was a big problem with them. Very different then clip ins.

The African ladies that have done my sew ins have always used a different technique with braids going across my head and much bulkier.
Perhaps she meant new to her, new to that salon etc which is fine. Lol
@@karenmccann8644 yes and no. As you know, you shed hair, roughly 100 or so strands on average or something like that, daily. You're able to brush all of that out routinely when you brush or comb your hair. Well when you get a sewin, like hers, partial or full, that hair isn't getting brushed out daily. It's not until you take the extensions out that you finally are able to comb your hair so you tend to notice hair loss more. It's still the same amount as normal, it just had no where to go for 8 or so weeks. Now there are exceptions, like in the case you have someone who has no clue how to put them in, or you don't properly care for the extensions and your scalp while having them in, or you tend to be rough during the wearing and during the take down. To a certain extent, the same can be said with clip ins. If you're really rough on your own hair while putting them in and/or wear them in excess it can lead to thinning. Same can be said of any extensions placed in close proximity to the scalp. It's all in what you want. Personal choice ya know.
Im from Arizona! I got my hand tied extensions in The Habit Salon by Brittany ! All those girls including Chrissy are Hair Queens!! I loooove looove this process! I already got mines moved up after 8weeks. This is the best method to hair extensions everrrr 💗

The extensions look amazing, but I am even more in love with the color! 😍 as a brunette, it’s so hard to change up your color without it becoming brassy, and then you just end up coloring it back all dark. This looks gorgeous! 💖

I had similar years ago and I'm so glad I got them taken out. It looks amazing but they are heavy and you have to be so careful when you wash and brush your hair and it feels weird on your head too.. just take some biotin, let them air dry and you'll get beautiful long hair , and you can say they are natural! 😊
Not everyone has the same experience as you, unfortunately everyone’s hair is different and just by “taking biotin” will not fix everyone’s hair growth.
Biotin only works if you have a deficiency but if having long, full hair is not in your genetics there’s no much you can do

Same! I have hairtalk extensions and they sound similar to this hair in many ways. Although this seems even better, even more less noticable than hairtalk is! I wish my hairdresser will adapt this technique sometime in the future :)
Idk I don't think I'd be willing to pay for this or travel somewhere for extensions ....lol not realistic for I guess the average person .I'm not saying UA-camrs. Are celebrities .cause obviously there not ... whatever I'm ranting ...looks good tho on a younger girl
Kathleen Renee a lot of salons do this! They just aren't called hand tied extensions because habit salon trademarked the name. The actual name of these are partial sew in. Google places that do sew in extensions and ask if they sew them into micro links! Most places only charge 75$ per weft and usually a full head is 2-3 wefts. That doesn't include the cost of the hair though! But just google it! It's something that a ton of saloons do!

I went to a Redken school for my esthetician's license and then came back to go through 2 more years of hair/cosmetology. I really love Redken color techniques and their formulas. Your hair looks amazing!

Had a consultation and fyi for 2 rows 22 inches with Chrissy they estimated me at 3500. For some of the other stylists at habit its 500 deposit for hair then around 1500-1750 color included. I live in AZ. Also hairbylauren is also amazingly talented there!!

Currently reading yelp with this salons awful terrible mortifying reviews. Instagram is a BIGGG deceit to what really goes in here people are paying 350 for botched highlights and color that fades within 2 weeks. I’m shocked at all these reviews and I KNEW something was fishy when I was quoted 1k+ for some fcking hair extensions that require Very little work. I’m just beyond myself right now I will be posting them on Instagram (the reviews) Stephanie I really hope you read them and reconsider endorsing this disgusting salon. I’m sure you had no idea but educate yourself please for the love of god so no one else goes there

I'm glad you have had a good experience so far is the important thing. Hair extension salons can be hit or miss, or some hair types just don't mesh well D:.
It’s not worth that all they done was put micro link in then sewn the extension in that isn’t anything new I had lady do that to my hair 10 yrs ago
They quoted me $4,000. Although, they are SO beautiful and I want them anyways!
For $400 (give or take), you can get halo couture extensions and they look just as good. They’re also removable so you don’t have to sleep in them or wrap them at night, etc (which was the biggest PITA for me when I had tape extensions). I love my halos. They usually last at least a year and they’re beautiful.

I’m a hair stylist and do a technique similar to this. Basically this is a beaded sew-in. Micro beads are used to create a foundation for the wefts to be sewn on to instead of cornrows like a classic sew-in (this is not a braided sew-in) . The difference in what they do is how they attach the beads to the hair. I may have to rethink my price menu. But to be fair...I believe the price is higher because they provide the hair, color/highlight your hair, probably color the extensions, install, cut and style. That’s a lot of work. Some salons charge everything separately or don’t offer as much. They’re work is beautiful though.

I hope this isn’t off putting of a video request...I know you did a video a looooong time ago about breast augmentation but would you mind doing an updated video....what kind you got, how many cc’s, over or under the muscle, what Dr you used, saline or silicone, healing time, your progress so far with them, sleeping on your stomach,etc? I really want to get mine done but yours are the most natural out of the majority I’ve seen. I don’t like how ‘far apart’ or obvious most look. I hope that’s not weird!

I got my augmentation 500 cc's, gel implants a few years ago. Under the muscle, moon cut on breast crease. I love love love my augmentation. However... 5 years in i started getting excruciating joint pain. I was diagnosed with An autoimmune disease. Some days I can't even move or get out of bed. My body is attacking itself, since I have something foreign in my body. The implants. It's horrible. Taking them out might help but will look awful. Just wanted to pass this along to you. You are beautiful just how you are.

I used to get these all the time but it gave me tension alopecia in 2 large areas after doing it for years. Unfortunately the dermatologist said the hair in the bald spots will not grow back. Tried everything. It was awesome when I had them though.

I've done these extensions before, you have to extra wash in between, mine looked gross when I took them off! And I actually thought I was cleaning extra good lol

I go to Habit Salon, I don’t get them complimentary (maybe one day), but they cost about $1500 the first time with an all over highlight. I get two rows. Then when you go in for the readjustment which should be done every 6-10 weeks, costs $250.

Just be very careful with these beads they sawn in your hair is a lot of tension on your real hair. They need to sawn close to your scalp with some tension. That tension will weaken your own roots forcing your hair to come off. I worked long time ago as a hairdresser in a place in Connecticut where people with thin hair or a loss of their hair will choose this technique to improve their appearance. When they come back for maintenance my job was to recolor give them haircuts but after I will take off the extensions or hair pieces. When i will take them off i will realize how much more of their natural hair they will loose. That was very scary. Our hair does not need that tension and if we continue to do so we loose lots of hair

We naturally lose hair every day so it obviously has no where to go while everything is sewn in until you take them out
My sister had hair extensions like this and they looked gorgeous, but when it was time to remove them, she did have bald spots. When you attach long hair, no matter what type of extension it is, the weight of it will pull on your natural hair. This tension WILL cause bald spots.

Are these sewn into braids? How are they sewn in staying put if not? Are they damaging to your hair? How long can you leave them before you have to redo them?
I have sewn in wefts and love them. Lots of hairdressers do them. I need wavy wefts. Sunny's Hair in Mesa sells wavy Indian Remy hair wefts and I pay $198 for a bundle, which is enough for initial install and a touch up replacement in a few months. I get mine moved up about 9 weeks. These are the easiest to maintain and cheaper than I- tip. I feel them in my hair but you get used to them. I use sulfate free shampoo, Mane and Tail spray detangler, a good conditioner and a good detangler brush. You dont need all of the expensive products youre talking about, waste of $$. I also use hot rollers with a protectant spray, which really curl my extensions. No flat iron since I am wavy. I have to brush a little bit differently and wash very gently but overall, love sewn in wefts and would never do tape-ins and clip-ins were such a pain to put in. .....Kris

So, question. When I was little I had really thick, long hair. I now have PCOS and my hair takes years and years to grow, and it's thinning significantly due to the hair loss PCOS causes. I want to get permanent hair extensions to replace the volume I've lost in my hair, but I don't want to be doing it every few months. If my hair doesn't grow, can they stay in longer? Can you keep them in for like a year? What is recommended for me? Getting desperate from the hair loss and not growing hair fast enough to replace it...
