Thank you Team Losi for creating the LMT. I am an old school R/C monster trucker since the very beginning. I bought a Tamiya Blackfoot when I was a kid and it was first released in about 1986. I immediately sold it to buy the just released Tamiya Clod Buster in 1987. I still have my Clod Buster but it has been totally modified over the years so it is nothing like when it was new. It has an ESP Clodzilla IV chassis and suspension kit amongst other numerous modifications. I am returning back to R/C after taking a break for about twenty years and I am dusting off my trusty Clod Buster truck and bringing it back to life. It still has the same Clodzilla IV kit. Almost all of the parts on it are from companies that are long-gone like ESP, JPS, Novak, Hammad Ghuman, and Cirrus. Back in the day, it seemed like there was no market for solid axle monster trucks. Everyone was buying 2WD stadium trucks and then when the T/E Maxx trucks came out, everyone wanted 4WD trucks with low profile tires and independent suspension systems. There was also the Kyosho Twin Force that came out during that time and it had a sold axle suspension system but it was not too popular and it quickly disappeared. Nobody wanted a true R/C monster truck. I said it back then and I still say it today - a true R/C monster truck has huge tires and solid axles. There are no exceptions to those two mandatory requirements. It seemed as if the entire R/C monster truck industry changed in the early 2000s though and it was specifically tailored to a basic truck design that I had absolutely no interest in. (No thanks to Traxxas.) I want my R/C monster truck to be exactly that - a monster truck. I do not want my monster truck to be a 4WD version of a stadium truck at all. That is what stadium trucks are for, not monster trucks. That was probably why I put my trusty Clod Buster into storage at that time. The R/C industry left me out in the cold. Now I have returned to the hobby and I am absolutely ecstatic to see that things have come full circle. People now want monster trucks with big tires and solid axles again! I am so happy to see the market returning back to the people like me that loved monster trucks that were exactly that - monster trucks, and not "tarted-up" and glorified stadium trucks. Thank you Team Losi for catering to the R/C monster truck fans! I have not bought an LMT yet but it is the first R/C monster truck that has really caught my eye in a very long time and I am seriously considering retiring my trusty Clod Buster for the first time since 1987 and replacing it with a new LMT. It would take a truly exceptional truck to get me to put my Clod Buster on the shelf after 35+ years of use but the LMT is an absolutely incredible truck.
Knocked it out of the park with this RC. I’ve already driven this more than any other RC I own and have a blast every time I do. Chris talks about trying to give it characteristics of real truck and I feel like the team nailed it. There are some amazing custom race trucks out there, but they don’t look like a real truck when they drive. The first thing I noticed about this truck was the easy the suspension worked and how realistic it looked. Great work!
The LMT is truly a dream come true. For most of my life, I was on the fringes of the RC Monster Truck community. I always thought they were incredible but had no idea where to even begin to get into the hobby. I instantly fell in love when I first saw this thing. Crazy to think it has been almost a year since it was first revealed. Since then, I've built a scale RC monster jam course in my backyard with my brother! Impatiently waiting for a Max-D LMT
I'm so jealous of your course. It's exactly what i'd want to play on with this rc. I don't care much about insane jumps. I like realism and your course is amazing for that!
@@TriggerFingerRC thanks so much man. I feel the exact same way in regards to the insane jumps. Being able to recreate a scale monster jam show in my own backyard is just the coolest thing ever.
@@TriggerFingerRC the only mods I've done are the servos. I think the truck is very durable in general, but we've had some pretty epic bash sessions on our track.
I've raced every form of solid axle Monster Truck in my 14 years in the hobby. NOTHING compares to the LMT. This is THE truck to purchase out of the box. Massive thumbs up!
I fell in love with my Son-of-a digger as soon as I pulled the trigger for the first time! I recently made my own limit straps for it and they work great. Thank you HH and Losi!
When you guy's introduced the LMT this time last year, I didn't know how much I would enjoy every experience with it once I got my hands on it. I just knew I had to have it and couldn't wait for it once I ordered it. The LMT is one of kind and I love every second of driving it. Thanks again Fella's!
If there was ever going to be a revamp, the biggest one would be four-wheel steering. Its more realistic but the truck is one of the most realistic RC cars combine! Nice video by the way!
I'm glad y'all get it. The term "monster truck" gets used pretty loosely in the RC world. I personally want my RC to have that true to full scale MT look and movement. The LMT has it all.
I've always liked monster trucks. Been in the hobby since 2013, but I met monster trucks in the Bigfoot nintendo game launched in 1990 and haven't seen a monster truck in real life yet. SMT10 did not convince me due to the really big sway bars and the size of the tires. I saved few months while I studied what upgrades it would require, and now my LMT has done its job! The weight distribution, how it performs under certain circunstances, something new happens all the time. It's my first Losi rc car and it's perfect. The only upgrades I needed were the limiting straps as a precaution, and internal braces for both axles, which was times cheaper than aluminum ones. Greetings from Ecuador.
I have one and it has been one of my favorites rcs in my rc fleet. It is extremely fun to own not just drive also fun to work on which is half the fun of the hobby. Im looking to get a second truck in the coming year.
In a way, there sorta-kinda is...it's called an X-MAXX (not trying to start a Traxxas vs Losi "war"...I own multiple products from both companies). That being said, an even-larger-scale version WOULD be cool!!!
Theres a guy who built a 1/4 scale grave digger. He put in a mini v8 engine. Search for 1/4 monster truck, its incredible. Its also incredibly expensive the motor is $6k alone
This is cool because they said it's like driving in the driver's seat. Thats what I do with all my rc trucks, I add FPV so you are latterly in the rc truck. Very very fun 😀
The Losi lmt monster truck is very amazing I love it but the main problem I have with it is the axle, it breaks very easily so LOSI can you please make the trucks have a more stronger axle.
Where is Kevin Hetmanski??? This truck wouldn't be what it is now without his many years of MT development!! I see he's mentioned on the special thanks credits. Cheers to Kevin as well! 🍻
Yeah, I was looking for this comment. I went to his shop yesterday and he is such an honest and cool person. He didn't try to over sell asked what I was trying to do and said what I already had would be good enough and that I didn't need to buy all this stuff I thought I did.
Hi, LMT is amazing and fun, but in my firts 10 minuts run, the pin that link the right rear shock with the axel was unlinked, and the jumps were not like show in the video, the jumps of my LMT were a small, I think that losi need control of quality in this truck.
all of me really hopes that little joke at the end by tom was actually hinting that you guys would actually make versions of these with maximum destruction bodies, especially given the brand new look the truck just got for its 20th id pay EVERYTHING for one of those
