Beautiful French actress Mimi Coutelier's ❤️ boogie lady was & still is my all time favorite from the disco era. Classy & glamorous 70s disco. Ugh😞, I was so young, free & single when that album came out! Thank you😊.
I would think the songs were intended for them all along. Remember The Ritchie Family were the established act at the time, the Village People had only just released their second album and not yet hit it big with YMCA.
@@srenjensen5735 True. You've got a point, but the thing is that when I hear African Queens (just to mention one) I keep hearing Victor Willis' voice in my head 🤣
a very pleasant, special disco record from the group, I think, it should have had much more success and artistic recognition. The production is almost impeccable, you have all the Morali/Benlolo elements at their height. I have been also wondering why the song "I feel disco good" did not become a smash hit back then. What a catchy, energetic disco song with a stunning, very luscious promoting clip
@@srenjensen5735 Actually, it was Milt Grayson doing bass vocals on African Queens and Voodoo. Milt Grayson also sang bass on all Village People recordings from 1977 to 1980 (Don't go in the buuuushes)! He also sang backings during their live shows, somewhere behind a percussion set. Milt Grayson rocks. Check him out!
I remember the summer this came out, American Generation was blasting everywhere. Good times . It was definitely a unique time in American and world culture.
Thanks Soren. This is another job well done. Are The Ritchie Family the only group in music history to have a complete line-up change between albums? The accompanying pictures, the lyrics, videos and even matching fonts are a joy to look at as well as sing along to. The French album was most interesting. It also appears you translate to French too. I am impressed!

#Søren Well dayum🤯 I 4got all about #TheRitchieFamily🤭 My Mumz & them!! 💃🏽🔥
Proud sub from Harlem, Ny👍🏽
The music of La Barbichette (Instrumental) sounds like 100% Village People song! Love it!
Because they had the same producers- Jacques Morali & Henri Belolo, and the same live band- Gypsy Lane
if your compilations where on sale on CD or Vinyl i would buy (almost) every re-worked Album👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That is a lovely comment to receive. Thank you so much!
@@srenjensen5735 Well, I would so as well!!! I so enjoy listening to your work here and have been for years. Time to say thank you :-)
Can you upload the Bad Reputation Full Album Please
They were fabulous ❗😜👍🏻💌💌💌🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃
I watched the video with Vera Brown saying she did a lot of vocals for Village People and sung the backing on YMCA and IN THE NAVY
But didn't she mean when they were touring with Village People? I don't think she meant on record.
@@srenjensen5735 oh I see, wasn't listening properly lol

Thank you very much for the upload it is very much appreciated.
Is it possible that The Ritchie Family were given the songs that Village People could not sing at that time?

Once again many thanks Soren!!!
I loved the Ritchie Family , both old and new lineup . Let me tell you when this lp came out , it was MAJOR.
Which part of the world are you from, Paul?
@@srenjensen5735 I’m in the United States. Texas.

It is strange the single never charted,@@paulcarvalho8477
@@srenjensen5735 I don’t know how it did on the charts, but it was played a lot !
Another great job Soren 😉
During this era, Village People released the album “Cruisin’”. The style were similar
