i am watching this for the first time and tearing up at how cute these reactions are! the whOOOAAHs at cliff climbing, terraforming, pole vaulting, and even something as simple as moving a tree made me feel so happy. new horizons is my first animal crossing game - in fact, it's my first video (console) game *ever* ! i had wanted a switch for years, and got so motivated to persuade my mum to let me buy one that i actually managed to finally convince her :')
I feel so stupid tearing at a video with reactions to a game I've never played. I have watched a lot of gameplays this quarantine, i wish I could play this game.

I think it’s because I’ve also loved this game as a child, and I didn’t have many friends (or any..) growing up. I’m actually not into many games as well besides n64 ones.
It’s the energy of a game where everyone has the same “friends” and no one is lonely for me.

Can’t believe the first reveal of Animal Crossing New Horizons was only two years ago and we called it “Animal Crossing Switch” not knowing the official name for the game. I remember watching so many videos to past the time for the wait. Now we’re only 4 days away, geez I might just cry! :’)

"Also...". They know. They very well know.
New Horizons is great, and they did a lot to improve the gameplay, as well as all the details and stuff. But they also backtracked a bit by having tools break, having less full building shops (like not being able to get a proper Kicks store), having the villagers just be a bit *too* nice (would be cool to see a niceness slider when making a new save, so you have the option of having them more like the original AC, or nice like NH, or somewhere in-between). Also while I like the *idea* of the island, it loses some of the charm when there's not a big shopping district like New Leaf and City Folk had (which we COULD re-make on our island, except there's not enough actual shops to do that).
I'm hoping the next AC is sort of a "best-of" game, taking all the best aspects from each game. Unlockable retro games from AC1, the amount of separate buildings that New Leaf had, the terraforming from New Horizons, the actually hand-placing buildings from NH too, a middle ground for how nice/mean villagers are, tons of custom design slots, let us enable decorator mode outside, etc etc.
