I’m obsessed with how Nick is an encyclopedia of Joseph’s movie viewing history 😂 imagine being close enough with someone to know all the movies they have or haven’t seen ❤
I can’t stop laughing. You guys are hilarious and so entertaining. “They started Filming as soon as they got there. I didn’t see anyone take a shower. I didn’t see anyone brush their teeth” “it was the 70s” 💀 I loved when the old man had a heart attack the older woman asked her for help like they didn’t just spend the last few hours slashing all her friends.
Yes, the ending was cool and kind of funny ina mean way (heart attack and broken hip), it was a nice subversion on usually fast paced and manic finals of slashers and horrors in general, which suited the theme of elderly
You guys are so on POINT and hysterical in this review and have some incredible observations. I nearly died when Nick says you probably don't remember The Inkeepers and Joseph says "nope" without any hesitation. Amazing!
When Kid Cudi wakes up before going outside he drinks milk you can see a missing person photo on the milk carton. I thought that had to do with the buggy that was in the swap. I thought the guy in the basement was the director but thanks for pointing out he was still outside
Yeah I thought it was the director in the basement until Jenny Ortega is screaming for help and she yells the directors name, like calling for him not knowing he's dead. I do think they should've done more with who that guy is
The fact that the two of you love horror, like myself, and talk about it so blazé, makes me giggle. I love that you guys mention other off center Horror movies. 😊
OMG, you guys freakin' KILL me! Bring me the defibrillator, 'cause I'm DEAD! Nick, 2 minutes in: corrects Joseph, explaining that Martin Henderson played Wayne, not Luke Wilson. Joseph: continues referring to Wayne as "Luke Wilson" about three more times 😄😄😄. A side note: Martin Henderson played Naomi Watts' character's boyfriend with the 90s hair drapes in the 2002 "The Ring" remake. I saw the film tonight, and I liked it more than you two did, it seems. I do wish they picked an older actress to play Pearl, instead of slapping a wig and makeup on Mia Goth. I would give it at least a 3.5 out of 5.
Very seldom give out recommendations on UA-cam channels to my customers at my mothers restaurant but I make an exception to the both of you. Really had a poor experience when I went to see this movie. Wish I had seen it with you two.
I agree with Joseph that Pearl (Mia Goth in a makeup etc) was distracting. I did like this film. The body in the cellar I did too think it was the director, RJ. I even was questioning how did Pearl get him down there. Until we see him still outside by the van.
You guys are 🎯 with this one. The creepiest part of the movie is the elderly woman especially the part when she is applying makeup and brushing her hair.
Okay so I saw it, liked it enough, but the way people were raving about it as if it was something so different, when it was really just like any other slasher movie with just a bit more style. So I thought you hit the nail on the head with this. It was a good movie, and I like Ti West in general, but I was still expecting a bit more. Great review!
Same, I was expecting a final twist at the end, like the old couple were supernatural and killing them to regain their youth or something. Like vampires or Satanists (since the preacher was going on and on about them).
Just rewatched this and the vehicle in the swamp reminded me of serial killer Ted Bundy’s VW Bug. Also really liked Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow’s “Marilyn Monroe” vibe. She also reminded me of Madonna’s look in Justify My Love/ Truth or Dare when during the porn filming, she gets up from the kitchen table and tells Jackson to come with her.
I like learning about the metaphors. I would never catch those, like when she breaks the mirror and it has to do w the one becoming like the other … very helpful. Thank you.
first time watching your guy's channel and I'm already a fan. lol this movie is crazy and you guys reviewed it well and you guys are hilarious! I'm subscribed!!
Thanks, guys! Never been a Ti West fan. NEVER understood the big deal over House of the Devil and couldn't get through The Innkeepers. I'll most likely wait for this on streaming or DVD.
by the way! there was a missing person on the milk carton and im pretty sure thats the guy in the basement. we see a shot when kid cudi is drinking the milk from the carton and its on the side that would be facing the floor so he doesnt see it
Idk if you guys have reviewed Mapplethorpe it came out last year and I just watched it. My first though was I wonder if they reviewed it I feel like it’s very in your lane. If you haven’t you should think about it it’s pretty good
I think the humor of Pearl makes sense. It’s easy to forget she was a serial killer before she was old. So, her bitterness towards her victims being translated with her smart ass responses makes sense to me. I also think it was lost to you both that the killers played up their elderly ways to catch their victims off guard. They’re not strong enough to play fair.
As I've mentioned, I'm a wimp so no horror for me, but I did like the look of the trailer so I'm glad to watch this!!! Nick, that color is your color!!!!! It's also one of my favorite colors, but it looks so much better on you!!
Nice review. I didn’t really like the film personally. I thought they would find something more shocking in the cellar/basement. It was a bit more goofy than anything. How did nobody wake up when RJ turned on the truck to try and escape never mind people not being able to find his dead body in front of the truck.
Thank you so much for this! I'm one of those weirdos that needs spoilers before I watch something 😂 I still plan to watch this, I just needed to set my expectations at a reasonable level! A lot of the praise I've seen for this says it's very surprising and unexpected but it sounds pretty standard to me from what you guys mentioned 😅
@@user-luciddream no cause what i do is read the whole plot and watch the movie, im the type of person who loves spoilers lol. Where the hell did i put in my comment that i judge the films beforehand?🧐
Thank u Nick and Joseph for this review I was curious about it but not enough to waste money or life energy nor time to actually watch it. Your reviews are more interesting than the movies any way. 🤗 Thank u guys much love, peace and wealth to u both.

The most epic shot in the movie was of course the overhead shot of the lake with the crocodile behind Mia's character. That was awesome
“I’m very familiar with large penises” 😂 Joseph’s commentary is unmatched
That was hilarious 😂
The scenes where she was swimming scared the crap out of me! I hate swimming in dark water and that croc made it way scarier
It was actually an alligator
Exactly. I was cringing throughout the entire scene. But I'm left wondering if she even knew about the alligator.

so many people said that the gore was too much for them.. i personally didn’t find it as gory as other movies i’ve seen.. but that’s just me
