Nice video. The cars look nice, I hope CRRC and MBTA can resolve the issues on these cars, so that the rest of the order can be built out. I have heard CRRC builds quality rail products.
Don’t count on it. With current administration coming down hard on China, would not be surprised if US government labels CRRC as security risk and is banned from doing business in U.S., just like Huawei. The silver lining is MBTA chose Mitsubishi traction system instead of crazy sounding CRRC Times Electric traction system.
OMG Dont even get me started on how BAD an idea it was to contract CRRC to build the new OL cars. Why didn't they use something like the blueline cars but without the pantographs.
Say what you wish about CRRC, but I actually really like these trains. The Asian influence in them felt refreshing. Mind you I was a tourist who only spent 2 days in Boston and didn't experience a breakdown... *I disliked the XDE-60s on the Silverline tho, seats were trash. And those I did witness a breakdown.*
These cars are nice, BUT the beeps for the doors closing are quite excessive and annoying, why not have the announcer just say "doors are closing" followed but a single beep. Also why are the "EXIT" signs not above the doors, they're in the middle of the cars with an arrow, very odd.
Those cars look interesting. They remind me of the PATH trains

Splendid!

Is the new crrc orange line cars still in service
4 cars in 1 unit?
Very much resembling PA5s from the side, only orange instead of blue. Recall the 01200s were based on the PA3.
What’s the repetitive beeping when the doors are open? Is it supposed to let blind/visually impaired people know that the doors are open?
Exactly. Also to give them an idea of where the doors actually are.
the beeping is quite annoying when the train is at oak grove or forest hills or is stoped with the doors open for a long period of time
CRRC safety feature
Of course there's no open gangways
