All we really need is electricity, good local governance and reduced tax burden. Provincial and national government are also services, you pay all that income tax and it gets you nothing and also helps nobody else. Probably 80% of national government is just bloat and black holes for money. I'd close half the ministries for a start.

Phumlani Majozi is right that we need an environment where jobs are created and therefore reducing the number of social grant recipients. It is important to do so as in some countries that have this kind of social grants there is a tendency to have generational social grant recipients.

I think that the first step to fixing South Africa would be to make all the businesses such as shopping malls, amusement parks etc, operate 24/7, this will reduce the unemployment rate. Secondly, increase the minimum wage to be about 12k per month so that every South African can pay their bills such as electricity, water and sanitation, etc. From this, get rid of loadshedding so that businesses operate 24/7. Fix roads and renovate RDP houses in townships into something like estates with security guards, thus creating more employment opportunities in our country. After executing all these plans, now that everyone will be earning atleast enough money to pay their bills, get rid off social grants except the disability grant. Adding more on social grants, I think that the retirement age should be 65 yrs. The renovated RDP houses should no longer be free, anyone who needs the house should buy one, each house sold at about at atleast 300k. Anyone who cannot buy a house in full amount should pay 5k for six years, if they don't pay for the house for about maybe two months after moving in, they sholud be kicked out and sentenced three years in prison. Furthermore, if anyone builds a shack anywhere, they should be fined or sent to prison. Again, since corruption is such a huge issue in South Africa, I believe the only solution to this is to replace the government and anyone who fails to deliver to South Africans, must be sentenced five years in jail. You cannot promise to deliver and never deliver to South Africans. Provide street vendors with carts so that shacks are removed on the sides of the road, keep the country clean by making sure that anyone who fails to clean up their living and working spaces are fined a certain amount of money, I am referring to our residential areas and business hubs. I believe that fixing roads and making sure that everyone is safe in the country, this will even make it possible for tourists to visit townships which will be much safer with easy access due to good infrastructure in all parts, street vendors will be able to make more money from selling their goods to locals and tourists.
This is what I have been thinking of and I strongly agree with Phumlani Majozi. Give black people their pride back, stop spoon feeding them, making them more poor.

A SADC report claimed that for every middle class family that emigrates from South Africa, 10 local jobs are lost. About 1 500 000 people (mostly middle class) have emigrated since 1994, so that's about 300 000 families, which equates to about 3 million jobs....

The solution depends on the desired goal. If the goal is a first world capitalist economy then :
ENCOURAGE AS MUCH PRIVATE INVESTMENT AS POSSIBLE.
This could be low taxes, incentives, red tape, minimum wage, BEE, local manufacturing requirements. None of that makes lasting meaningful economic change (employment) to an increasing number of people, they're once off events that have a one time time ROI. You want everything you do to have limitless potential in order to have the greatest long term impact.
A lot is said about HNW individuals as well. Remember that a HNWI does not keep their money under their mattress. It sits in..... An investment.
They want their money to work and grow and they will put it wherever it will deliver ROI. Noone is talking about this.
Make SA as attractive to HNWI as possible and encourage people to be and get paid as much as possible. CEOs being paid millions a year is NOT a problem. Their money is INVESTED and powers GROWTH in doesn't sit in their pockets. Sure, some might go on a spending spree, but.. that goes into an economy as tax on purchases. Get the money FLOWING. The more that is moving around the better. Encourage the AMOUNT that is moving to be as high as possible.
Short answer: Play SIM CITY to understand what encourages growth and what retards it. Everything anyone needs to know is literally in that game.

You cannot fix South Africa without first and foremost addressing Foreign Intelligence Agencies influencing Government Decision-Making in crucial sectors such as Energy exploration, Power Plant construction, Land Reform, Foreign Policy, Language policy, Family units (household asset holding and legacy), Intra-African trade.
In South Africa, this is especially difficult because the NIA is in cohorts with the former Apartheid Security Agents and Mi6 in directing the news / perception in the Media, the Judicial Court judgments and who gets investigated.
For example, South Africa did not build the Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactor, did not do Shale Gas fracking in the Karoo, did not build Nuclear Power Plants, abandoned NEPAD (Intra African trade) and is being coersed to leave BRICS with the present President Ramaphosa a functional Agent of SA White business.
