You’re telling me that the studio version of ‘Blue’ was Leann at eleven years old?? Holy cow!!
First recorded the song for her 1994 independent album.
Then re-recorded for the Blue album in 1996.
Everyone knew this, she is probably one of the most famous child prodigies of all time 🤣
It was first recorded for her 1994 independent album All That when she was 11, she then re-recorded it for the Blue album in 1996 when she was 13.
When they pulled the master tape for the single they accidentally pulled the 94 version when they were supposed to use the new 96 version and the 94 version was the one mastered for the single released on June 4th/96, after realizing their mistake they used the correct 1996 version on the album Blue about a month later and as well on the music video although it was shortened by about 15 seconds to fit properly with visual music video.
I have heard both and I honestly can't tell the difference between the two of them.
There is a mashup on Utube of the two of them played at the same time and they are indistinguishable from each other.
I can most definitely say that my copy of the tape single does not have on it the recording that we hear on LeAnn's Blue album, but it isn't the recording that came from her album named All That either. Why was it made, the recording that was placed on my tape single, I guess only the Curb records company can explain. I am guessing that LeAnn was almost 13 when it was done if she wasn't 13 yet then. @@SweetHeartHolly1982 What i said was correct, more specific information is on this recording ua-cam.com/video/n3hZij2PA3g/v-deo.html "Rimes told a BBC radio program in October 2016 that the record company accidentally released the version she had recorded as an 11-year-old. She said it was this version that peaked at number ten on the Billboard Country Chart." This was the single that they are referring too. Blue the album was recorded from mid 1995 when she was 12 to early summer 1996 when she was 13. When the single was released on June.4/96 the album was still not finished as they were still working on it putting the finishing touches on it.

NOTE blue was wrote for Patsy cline but after she died she never got the chance to record it the guy who wrote blue said he was not going to give patsy song to anyone but the moment he heard Leann sing he just knew the song needed to go to her so LeAnn cut blue amd did amazing on it

She didn’t mention it, but I believe it was originally written for Patsy Cline, who sadly died before she was able to record it. Nobody could’ve done it better.

She fell in love. She made a mistake. No right to blackball her. Same thing with the Dixie Chicks. Country music and a lot of their fans do this with women. Example: Morgan Wallen with his outburst and words. And so many more. 🤷♂️
