Thank you! Sometimes I don't fully understand what Gail is saying in the pattern instructions. And I got the basic concept, but your explanation of the zipper pocket lining made it a piece of cake .
This is a really comfortable bag to carry, even under a coat to keep your wallet, etc safe and close to you because it is so slim. I suggest skipping the velcro and just using is as a handy, hands free bag. Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial, Chris! I followed along with you and it went smoothly!! I agree with another post - why is there no top stitching? I enjoyed your video so much - now moving on to the “miss kitty”! Thank you for the videos!!
There were instructions in the pattern to skip the topstitching but I can’t recall why. I need to look at the pattern but I am on vacation this week, I will check it out when I return home.
Fabulous, Chris. Thanks sew much. I sent join request to Gail's fb group and look forward to making this bag. Super CONGRATS on reaching 1K plus! Exciting and well deserved. 🤩
Thank you! I am excited about reaching 1k subscribers and want to celebrate with some product giveaways but everything is moving at a snails pace😩. Hopefully soon!!
Have you done a video of the Cheryl? If not could you. I find the original one to be very hard to follow due to back ground noise. I find yours to be very easy to follow.
I have not made one of the Cheryl yet. I do want to get through all of the American Stitchers patterns so hopefully I can get it done soon. Thank you for watching!
I don’t think I could’ve done this without your video. I wonder if there’s a reason why you don’t topstitch? When I unzip the pocket with the foam, there’s a lip that could’ve benefited from some topstitching the other pockets as well just wondering.
It has been a while since I made this bag, I will have to look back at the pattern to see if there are topstitching instructions. I certainly don't see any reason why it can't be topstitched though. Thanks for watching!
@@simplyclassic ok thanks. You said in the video to not “top stitch it even though we’re tempted to”. I thought I’d understand it later on but I didn’t 😊
Great video!! This will be my next bag. I had no idea that there was a line on a zipper. Where do you get your double sided tape that you use for your zippers. I have purchased numerous types and I struggle to get the paper off. Thanks.
Wonderful tutorial, thank you so much! I'm so excited to make this cc bag! May I ask if you wouldn't mind sharing the link to the basting tape you're using in your tutorial please? I've searched for it on Amazon, and found several different options, but the one that I thought matched the one you're using for terrible reviews and I couldn't be sure that I had the right one. Some double side tapes work great reviews were not water soluble and they recommended you do not sew through them or else they gum up your needle and thread, so I'm at a loss! I appreciate your help with the wonderful video!
Hi Angel! Thank you for watching! If I am sewing on my domestic machine, I use an 1/8" from Amazon, here is a link www.amazon.com/Ultra-Thin-Permanent-Double-Sided-Photography-Scrapbooking/dp/B01N27LYV9?pd_rd_w=dn44X&content-id=amzn1.sym.724fac2e-0491-4f7a-a10d-2221f9a8bc9a&pf_rd_p=724fac2e-0491-4f7a-a10d-2221f9a8bc9a&pf_rd_r=XSV1F43RPDSAJCSJK04D&pd_rd_wg=4fljT&pd_rd_r=e6a86fa0-34a4-4300-a88c-f505f9bab73d&pd_rd_i=B01N27LYV9&ref_=pd_bap_d_grid_rp_0_1_ec_i&th=1 It is less stick and does pretty good with my needle. If I am sewing on my industrial I use the Hyperstik because my needle doesn't mind it. www.wawak.com/bag-construction/basting-tape/wawak-hyperstik-super-strong-double-sided-vinylleather-basting-tape-clear/#sku=tpe29 I hope one of them works for you! It is a free American Stitchers pattern to members of the American Stitchers Facebook group. Join her group and then search for Maney and it will be yours!
The new item that is out is the Handy Quilter Zipper Jig, here is an Amazon link so you can see it. I have purchased one but personally, I like my fork the best. I think it is because it stands higher and it holds the pull better. I just used an old fork, bent back two of the prongs, and then had my Hubby screw it to a board. It is a good, affordable alternative! www.amazon.com/Gypsy-Quilter-Handy-Zipper-Purple/dp/B09NCZ9QTG?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A1ERMC9UA3GLFK
Yes. I am on both FB and Instagram. The next tutorial will be the newest pattern by American Stitchers, the range bag. After that, I have a few inspiration pieces that I want to do, one by Kate Spade and the other by Dooney. I have been working on the Dooney one for a while, I think I might have it figured out. 😀 Instagram is “simply classic handbags”, FB is “simply classic”.
I’m trying to go through all your videos and just found this. That is really cool 😎 Thanks for the video ❤

Not a gun person as not done in Canada, but love the pattern. So happy I found your site, your instructions are always so well done. Thanks once again

Thanks a million!! ❤
I noticed the CC zipper side is facing left.. can it be reversed to carry towards right hand?
Yes! The pattern shows how to lay the pieces for a left hand draw.
Am not a member of facebook. Not on facebook but i love your pattern so so much. Is there another way i can get this pattern?
Hi Kim,
This is a pattern by American Stitchers, I just did the tutorial on it. She has a shop on Etsy and you can contact Gail directly from there.
@@simplyclassic thank you very much
Where can I purchase the pattern for the Maney?
It is a free American Stitchers pattern to members of the American Stitchers Facebook group. Join her group and then search for Maney and it will be yours!
Could you give the name of the new zip installer? post or email? thanks
