Already got my plane tickets to Madrid but going to Sevilla by train the same day. I think I will be rearranging my plans to visit some of the places. Been an descendant from Spaniards from Puerto Rico, pork is one of our favorite meals and we eat EVERYTHING from the pork. Can’t wait to try the pork dishes. BTW gracias por los videos y sugerencias. My friends and I just finished our Camino de Santiago numero cuatro and in Madrid the day before leaving Spain, we did your old Cava Baja recommended tapas crawl. Taberna la Concha is AMAZING. That vermouth is so, so good. I loved the special way they prepared it, too. I even kept the little stick as a souvenir. We kept looking for you guys everywhere, just in case we'd get lucky and run into you. We're also big fans of Casa Lucas, and had dinner there. It was our second time there. Thanks so much for all you do. We're Spain-obsessed and you guys are the BEST.
Your videos helped us a lot during our trip last October🤩. Our theme for the trip was: "Living like a local" 🏘 We've tried many local restaurants, markets, tapas bars, churrerias, and grocery stores! (all through your videos as our local guide) We had the cookies, too! Special thanks to the kindest Spanish ladies who helped us order our cookies🍪🍪🍪. We loved everything about Spain! We didn't feel like tourists at all. Most of the Spanish people we've come across were warm and friendly. We will definitely go back! Gracias and more power to Spain Revealed!

bummed we didn't run into you guys when you were filming this as we were in Madrid about the same time. On our last full day in Madrid we had a tour with Arantxa and visited some of these spots! thank you for all of your suggestions in Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona and Toledo !!! we enjoyed some amazing food!! keep up the great work and hope to be back in Spain soon, it's only been a week and I'm soooooo missing it!

I visited Madrid 2 weeks ago for a business trip and I had 2 whole days for exploring and thanks to you it was awesome trip and I know I have to visit Madrid at least once more! We stopped at some places you recommended and none of them disappointed us. All places have such unique vibes! We had absolutely perfect time! Snails at Casa Amadeo were great!

We are currently on day 3 of our trip to Madrid and have labeled our adventure “must make hunger”. Thank you so much for all the great videos, we have tried several of your suggestions and they have been great. And the people have all been wonderful and accommodating, it’s been a fantastic and delicious first time in Spain. Tomorrow we head to Barcelona, looking forward to more amazing food and drink!

I was in Madrid a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The food was great. Thanks to James and these types of videos, I was able to eat some wonderful tapas. Here's my honest review of the places James suggested:
My overall best tapas was Casa Toni. My favorite dish was the boquerones en vinagre. So light and refreshing. If you're going on a tapas crawl, I would stay away from the patatas bravas (they were meh and they fill you up). The sweet breads were tasty and really the whole menu was good.
Casa Revuelta was tasty but the bacalao was quite salty.
Caracoles and callos madridlenos were quite good but not so much in 97 degree heat. More of a winter dish but we wanted to try it anyway.
Casa del abuelo - awesome gambas
Taberna Sanlucar - Hard pass on this - the food was not that great but expensive and the bartender was a kind of a d-bag
La Mallorquina - delish!
The best tapas place by far was oddly not listed on any of these "best of" videos but mentioned by Yolli in a livestream that I noted and is miles above all the places listed here is called La Castella - it's a wood grilled seafood place. Absolutely delicious. A little pricey but worth it. The service is slow but that's Madrid. FYI-It's not in the center of Madrid.
Lastly, I highly recommend doing a tapas tour with Devour to sort of get a feel for the tapas thing before venturing on your own so you can get a feel for it and they have other recommendations too and surprisingly they visit some other tapas places not listed here which were quite good and I preferred some more to what was shown here.
Great update and a walk down memory lane. Enjoyed the ride along with you. Maybe another visit to Madrid next year? Let's see.

I know from your vids that Luismi is your mate anyway but him taking Lucia to allow you to enjoy yourself, was my experience as a kid and probably what sowed the seeds of the love I have for the country now. From when I was a small baby in the 80s, until I was an older kid people just so happy to see a little one. Almost grateful to my Mum and Dad for having brought me into the world. Salt of the earth Spanish people and a great country for kids.
Fantastic video as always! These are truly some of the best restaurants in Madrid, and ones we would take people to when we lived there! Other ones we might add would be Sylkar for tortilla and La Bola for cocido madrileño. We can't wait to come back and visit Madrid! Thank you, James and Yoly!

I'm completely baffled as to how you guys don't weigh 300 pounds each right now from eating all that great food, processed meats, breads, sweets, drinks, everywhere, but thank you so much for these great informational tours, I love them. Went to Spain and Madrid last year to do the Camino de Santiago and loved it. Next time I go I will be much better informed thanks to you guys.

It was such a wonderful surprise to see you at El Riojano, I was going to ask about Cerverin, cause I was trying to Google and nothing would come up.
It was lovely chatting with Yoly , who recommended when I got to Jerez de la Frontera to look up Peña flamenca. I had a blast visiting beautiful Spain and finding the hidden gems to eat that you recommended in your channel. Bendiciones see you next year.

This was a great video. Doing a solo travel now and your spots are right on. I walked out the Plaza and saw del abuelos. I almost jumped for joy! Eating the gambas al ajillo now!
Today is 12th October, I’m on holiday in Madrid and thanks to this video went specially to try the bacalao. It was wonderful, yum. Thanks for the recommendation, and the advice to get there early doors!
All food looks divine. Try La Sanabresacin in the Barrios de las Letras. OMG! I still salivate when I think about our meals at this restaurant 😋

haha very good 😂- we tried lots of places you guys suggested in Madrid and Andalucia plus some others we stumbled across and had recommended by locals (Restaurante Casa Mateos in Ronda!!!) I think though you need to spread the tour out over 2 days at least to let your poor stomachs have a rest - loved our trip to Spain - thanks for all your tips and views of Madrid etc
We went to some of the places they recommend and it made our stay in Madrid much more special. The Taberna La Concha was a real highlight. Their tapas are as good as the vermouth.
My wife and I spent the month of September 2022 with our 3 year old daughter in Madrid. We went to Casa Toni no short of 5 times and the same for La Casa del abuelo, I need more gambas! Thank you both for showing us the Real Madrid! My wife is of Spanish decent and we enjoyed many beauties of what Spain has to offer. I hope to travel back this year!

I watched this video again after my return from Spain and must say that your recommendation on Casa del Abuelo was spot on and La Mallorquina too. I’ll take the chocolate when I visit you 😂. Now didn’t get to La Fisna which I’m kicking myself for now because I forgot(don’t know how) but adding up all the by the glass prices, one could drink every single one on the menu and it would be cheaper than 2 bottles of wine in the USA. Gotta love Spain! Writing these places all down for my next trip there. Gracias James, Yoly and Lucia.

Just spent 3 months in Madrid. I love just going out and stumbling across great places by exploring different neighbors. On almost every corner you can a great cortado or a cana with some olives .
The cortado in most cafes in Madrid tastes like $h-it

Apt timing James. I am in Madrid now. I went to Casa Toni last night but I have one thing to say- the orejas were sublime, beating the mollejas hands down. I think that might be the best dish I’ve ever tried. Phenomenal.

James and Yoli, first of all i have to say that we are watching you with love, thank you very much for your videos! We just moved to Madrid(a week) and your videos have been a guide for us. Many thanks for your suggestions! Would it be possible to also get a place recommendation for paella from you? We see it everywhere but we didn't know where to go, your suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Gracias
Oh yeh - our favourites were usually just the local bars where the atmosphere was good and happy staff doing what they do! - went on a long walk to the garment museum (my wife really wanted to go there - I enjoyed the walking) from Centro/ Barrio Cortes and on the way back had a great lunch at Kiosco palacate de Rosales near parks and trees with a relaxed outside table and friendly staff. Alimentacion Quiroga in Calle de las Huertas was really good for dinner.

Hi James and Yoli. We are an Argentine-Danish couple travelling to Madrid and the Basque Country next weekend. We enjoy a bit of spicy and would love a few recommendations for tapas and pintxos bars with a great ambience good food and hopefully not too much of a line to get in. Anything we should think of being holiday season?
Seriously, I had an entire list printed out of all his recommended places to eat out during our (my wife and I) recent three week stay in Spain. We had spent 5 nights in Madrid (including one entire day in Toledo), then 4 nights in Seville, then 2 nights in Ronda, then 1 night in Cordoba, then 3 nights in Granada, and then 5 nights in Barcelona. After eating at a few bad restaurants/tapas bars that were recommended by James Blick for Madrid -- I had immediately throw out his list of places and instead (after Madrid) we just found much better places on our own (via Google and/or just wandering around and stumbling upon some really decent unexpected places to eat at.
