Got the chance to meet James at one of Devour Tour's Food Tours! He is really down to earth and we had so many conversations about food, culture, etc! Just super thankful to Yoly and James for all their videos!
Already got my plane tickets to Madrid but going to Sevilla by train the same day. I think I will be rearranging my plans to visit some of the places. Been an descendant from Spaniards from Puerto Rico, pork is one of our favorite meals and we eat EVERYTHING from the pork. Can’t wait to try the pork dishes. Saludos a tu bella familia.
I know from your vids that Luismi is your mate anyway but him taking Lucia to allow you to enjoy yourself, was my experience as a kid and probably what sowed the seeds of the love I have for the country now. From when I was a small baby in the 80s, until I was an older kid people just so happy to see a little one. Almost grateful to my Mum and Dad for having brought me into the world. Salt of the earth Spanish people and a great country for kids.
My friends and I just finished our Camino de Santiago numero cuatro and in Madrid the day before leaving Spain, we did your old Cava Baja recommended tapas crawl. Taberna la Concha is AMAZING. That vermouth is so, so good. I loved the special way they prepared it, too. I even kept the little stick as a souvenir. We kept looking for you guys everywhere, just in case we'd get lucky and run into you. We're also big fans of Casa Lucas, and had dinner there. It was our second time there. Thanks so much for all you do. We're Spain-obsessed and you guys are the BEST.
Your videos helped us a lot during our trip last October🤩. Our theme for the trip was: "Living like a local" 🏘 We've tried many local restaurants, markets, tapas bars, churrerias, and grocery stores! (all through your videos as our local guide) We had the cookies, too! Special thanks to the kindest Spanish ladies who helped us order our cookies🍪🍪🍪. We loved everything about Spain! We didn't feel like tourists at all. Most of the Spanish people we've come across were warm and friendly. We will definitely go back! Gracias and more power to Spain Revealed!
Watching video after video during the pandemic then FINALLY experiencing the tapas and historical tour in September 2022.....which was phenomenal.....it's so cool to watch these videos saying "we were there!"
Finally here in Madrid and ventures to Casa Amadeo Los Caracoles. Your recommendation to have snails here turned out to be our finest culinary experience in the city. Thank you both!
James, I've been watching for a while now and this is your best video to date. Parenthood has mellowed you (worn you out ha ha) and the vibe is so chilled out. I'm at a similar stage and completely get it. Vamos a Madrid pronto!
We are currently on day 3 of our trip to Madrid and have labeled our adventure “must make hunger”. Thank you so much for all the great videos, we have tried several of your suggestions and they have been great. And the people have all been wonderful and accommodating, it’s been a fantastic and delicious first time in Spain. Tomorrow we head to Barcelona, looking forward to more amazing food and drink!
James and Yoly, thank you so much for making these videos. We drove all the way from the Netherlands by car to Madrid to visit El Riojano and San Miguel. My girlfriend loves chocolate and I love savory food! I'm totally happy here, thank you!❤ Oh and we continue the journey to Valencia and Barcelona.. there too I'm going to use your great tips and videos!
James and Yoli: so cool you've done this video to support the true bars and restaurants of Madrid. Went to Madrid January 2019 with 3 buddies - wow, boy did we enjoy....I want to get back.... x Tony
My wife and I spent the month of September 2022 with our 3 year old daughter in Madrid. We went to Casa Toni no short of 5 times and the same for La Casa del abuelo, I need more gambas! Thank you both for showing us the Real Madrid! My wife is of Spanish decent and we enjoyed many beauties of what Spain has to offer. I hope to travel back this year!
Wonderful video! We look forward to visiting Madrid in spring 2023. Your videos have been very helpful and informative. I last visited Madrid nearly 50 years ago. Beautiful family.☺️
James and Yoli thank you very much for your videos! I visited Madrid 2 weeks ago for a business trip and I had 2 whole days for exploring and thanks to you it was awesome trip and I know I have to visit Madrid at least once more! We stopped at some places you recommended and none of them disappointed us. All places have such unique vibes! We had absolutely perfect time! Snails at Casa Amadeo were great!
Amazing video. Thank you so much for showing this beautiful city, where I am born and raised, in such a wonderful way. Huge kudos for you and Yoli 👏🏻 Venga, let’s go!!
Thanks a lot for the updated epic Madrid food tour. I was in Madrid for 6 days in September and visited and enjoyed several of your favorites. P.S. you are such a beautiful family and care so much for each other, thanks for sharing that love with us
I'm completely baffled as to how you guys don't weigh 300 pounds each right now from eating all that great food, processed meats, breads, sweets, drinks, everywhere, but thank you so much for these great informational tours, I love them. Went to Spain and Madrid last year to do the Camino de Santiago and loved it. Next time I go I will be much better informed thanks to you guys. Saludos y bendiciones!
I was in Madrid a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The food was great. Thanks to James and these types of videos, I was able to eat some wonderful tapas. Here's my honest review of the places James suggested: My overall best tapas was Casa Toni. My favorite dish was the boquerones en vinagre. So light and refreshing. If you're going on a tapas crawl, I would stay away from the patatas bravas (they were meh and they fill you up). The sweet breads were tasty and really the whole menu was good. Casa Revuelta was tasty but the bacalao was quite salty. Caracoles and callos madridlenos were quite good but not so much in 97 degree heat. More of a winter dish but we wanted to try it anyway. Casa del abuelo - awesome gambas Taberna Sanlucar - Hard pass on this - the food was not that great but expensive and the bartender was a kind of a d-bag La Mallorquina - delish! The best tapas place by far was oddly not listed on any of these "best of" videos but mentioned by Yolli in a livestream that I noted and is miles above all the places listed here is called La Castella - it's a wood grilled seafood place. Absolutely delicious. A little pricey but worth it. The service is slow but that's Madrid. FYI-It's not in the center of Madrid. Lastly, I highly recommend doing a tapas tour with Devour to sort of get a feel for the tapas thing before venturing on your own so you can get a feel for it and they have other recommendations too and surprisingly they visit some other tapas places not listed here which were quite good and I preferred some more to what was shown here.
Our madrid devour tour has been such an amazing highlight during our trip in September! Highly recommended! Thanks James and Yoly! Keep these videos coming!
I couldn't say how long I've been watching your videos, but I'm glad to have found you guy's channel. Turns out I may be in Madrid this summer so I'll definitely reference this video for food options!
I hope to be in Madrid by August this year. I have been on your channel for some days now and can't wait to explore all these places you talk about on your vlogs. I am taking notes
Terrific and enticing videos. We are going to Madrid and Barcelona soon and can't wait to visit many of the amazing Tapas Bars and restaurants James and Yolo are showcasing.
For anyone watching this video now, here is an update. We are currently in Madrid and went to Casa Toni. They are currently closed. There is a hand written sign on the window saying they are closed resting. I assume that means vacation. But la Casa del Abuelo is just down the street and it is open.
bummed we didn't run into you guys when you were filming this as we were in Madrid about the same time. On our last full day in Madrid we had a tour with Arantxa and visited some of these spots! thank you for all of your suggestions in Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona and Toledo !!! we enjoyed some amazing food!! keep up the great work and hope to be back in Spain soon, it's only been a week and I'm soooooo missing it!
Apt timing James. I am in Madrid now. I went to Casa Toni last night but I have one thing to say- the orejas were sublime, beating the mollejas hands down. I think that might be the best dish I’ve ever tried. Phenomenal.
I need to find a better way to say how refreshing it is to see these presentations... the natural and professional messaging and focus is inspiring. great work, thanks for sharing, gracias
Keep making these wonderful videos. Been visiting Casa Toni since, well before our man James has been going. It's great to see he loves it as much as we do. Have been coming to Spain once a year since 2002(Minus Pandemic). See you soon, my home away from home.
I'm probably the youngest person who watches your channel (21) but I have been watching your videos for years as I am teaching myself Spanish and plan to move to Spain after college. I would love it if y'all would do a video in Granada! Seems like that's one of the major places y'all haven't hit on this channel yet. Anyways, love you guys (Yoli, lol jk)
Personal notes: 1.El Riojano:deledias 2.Convento de las Carboneras(navarritos?) 3. 14:18 little v-s and potatoes +pionones 4.Case de abuelo 5.Tonys(a bit of everything) 6.La mallorqina
I watched this video again after my return from Spain and must say that your recommendation on Casa del Abuelo was spot on and La Mallorquina too. I’ll take the chocolate when I visit you 😂. Now didn’t get to La Fisna which I’m kicking myself for now because I forgot(don’t know how) but adding up all the by the glass prices, one could drink every single one on the menu and it would be cheaper than 2 bottles of wine in the USA. Gotta love Spain! Writing these places all down for my next trip there. Gracias James, Yoly and Lucia.
Just spent 3 months in Madrid. I love just going out and stumbling across great places by exploring different neighbors. On almost every corner you can a great cortado or a cana with some olives .
Hello team, Thank you for your amazing tips about Madrid. My wife and I just came from Madrid yesterday. Your food tips were super good, with just a small exception, a La casa del abuelo, where we didn’t eat because we were mistreated by the staff. The rest was amazing and 10/10 for Casa Revuelta with amazing food and warm staff. Thank you
Glad you and your wife are back , you have had interesting food tours in the past. I enjoyed watching the one you had recently with Mark Weins. Have to re - visit Spain again. I'm from Toronto, Canada
This was great, it's nice to see all the delicious tapas with you, Yoli and Lucia (she's already walking, they grow so fast). Great to see you James and Yoli! Thank you, and the book looks like a winner for sure.
Today is 12th October, I’m on holiday in Madrid and thanks to this video went specially to try the bacalao. It was wonderful, yum. Thanks for the recommendation, and the advice to get there early doors!
You guys are funny and joy to watch! I love the sense of humor. I am Filipino-Canadian, visiting Spain for the first time this October. I can definitely see a lot of similarities with our food. I grew up eating my mom's "Callos Dish". One of my favourites, but I can't wait to try the authentic "Callos Madridlenos", and other dishes featured on this Vlog. Cheers!
I took a Devour Tours food tour a couple of weeks ago and it was great! We had (American) David as guide. He had so much positive energy! I went back to Méson del Champiñon a few days later because they were delicious and I wanted to taste them again…
We love your videos and have watched them all! :). I am wondering if during Lent restaurants are serving meat dishes as usuall or is there a change in menus, opening hours etc. related to Lent period? Thanks for your replay
Hello and thanks for all the great tips! They really added to my recent visit to Madrid. Just a quick note, I visited la Casa del Abuelo in Barrio de las Letras neighborhood (I believe the street is Nuñez de Arce) and, in my personal opinion, it has all the signs of a tourist trap. They offered us a different menu and higher prices for sitting outside, which is quite sneaky as they only have 2-3 tables to sit inside. We had a caña and left.
Fantastic video as always! These are truly some of the best restaurants in Madrid, and ones we would take people to when we lived there! Other ones we might add would be Sylkar for tortilla and La Bola for cocido madrileño. We can't wait to come back and visit Madrid! Thank you, James and Yoly!
We went to some of the places they recommend and it made our stay in Madrid much more special. The Taberna La Concha was a real highlight. Their tapas are as good as the vermouth.
I've been to Madrid when I was a child and don't remember much honestly. I definetely need to go again. Also I've heard Spain is also good for pastries...
It was such a wonderful surprise to see you at El Riojano, I was going to ask about Cerverin, cause I was trying to Google and nothing would come up. It was lovely chatting with Yoly , who recommended when I got to Jerez de la Frontera to look up Peña flamenca. I had a blast visiting beautiful Spain and finding the hidden gems to eat that you recommended in your channel. Bendiciones see you next year.
Just discovered you guys & i'm already hooked! needed some inspiration & motivation on where to go next on my Spanish adventure ( my first travelling since covid), and you have both re-lit my spark for new taste's and adventure. binged lots of your content ( and still binging) and am off to Seville, Cordoba & Cadiz in September! ( perhaps a Granada visit as well). How many days for each do you recommend? How you don't have your own tv series by now is astonishing! x
My wife, her dad, and I went to Casa Amadeo Los Caracoles last night and it was amazing! Her dad loves snails and said these were better than he had in Paris. We were going to tapar but went to a sitdown restaurant after that because he is 83 at Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas and that was amazing as well!!
Another great video. Thank you so much for creating this new revision. Question: which location do you recommend for both La Mallorquina and La Casa del Abuelo? I seem to find multiples of each. All the best to you!!!!
We tried eating those white beans while in Seville - they came as a tapas - did not know we were supposed to peel them 😂. Great update to the video! Suggest some Spain Revealed merch- a tshirt with “We Must Make Hunger” on it!!
Love you guys. Planning an April 2023 trip with my boyfriend and you are my go to video’s! The places you visit seem so inclusive but You don’t talk about that very much, so I may be getting ahead of myself. Maybe something for future Vlogs.
I love your realness and how Yolly eats with her mouth full 😂😂😂 sadly no plans for Spain this year (1 month in Turkiye instead-- for the 4th time) but watching your videos now I'm torn between one month in Spain or one month in India next year.
What a fantastic video. If there is one place in the world that I would like to visit (or re-visit), it is Madrid and I would try to hit every spot that you showed.
Got the chance to meet James at one of Devour Tour's Food Tours! He is really down to earth and we had so many conversations about food, culture, etc! Just super thankful to Yoly and James for all their videos!
Great to meet you too!

These videos are a true gem, but not only for tourists. I'm a local and I don't know many of the places you feature. Thanks for the tips!
sorry but that food is simply crap

All the Best to you and family! ❤

Apt timing James. I am in Madrid now. I went to Casa Toni last night but I have one thing to say- the orejas were sublime, beating the mollejas hands down. I think that might be the best dish I’ve ever tried. Phenomenal.
Wow, bold call! Love it. Yoly will be very happy with your oreja solidarity! Enjoy your time in the city man!
Awww. What can I say, Mike? Spot on! 😉
Just finished the History and Tapas tour. It was interesting but I knew lot’s of the history thanks to you, James and Yoly.
Enhorabuena por los videos tan bonitos. Un saludo de un madrileño

I watched this video again after my return from Spain and must say that your recommendation on Casa del Abuelo was spot on and La Mallorquina too. I’ll take the chocolate when I visit you 😂. The cortado in most cafes in Madrid tastes like $h-it
here from marks, channel., what a great find. loving the videos mate
Las monjas galletas y Casa Revuelta were both deliciosa. Muchas gracias.
¡Ustedes son los mejores!
Hello team,
Thank you for your amazing tips about Madrid.

This was great, it's nice to see all the delicious tapas with you, Yoli and Lucia (she's already walking, they grow so fast). Great to see you James and Yoli! Thank you, and the book looks like a winner for sure.
Love the dynamics between you guys. Passion of course.

Great update and a walk down memory lane. Enjoyed the ride along with you. Maybe another visit to Madrid next year? Let's see.
Loved the video especially the footage of the beautiful country of Spain makes me want to go right now to Barcelona ❤

We love your videos and have watched them all! :). I am wondering if during Lent restaurants are serving meat dishes as usuall or is there a change in menus, opening hours etc. related to Lent period? Thanks for your replay
san lucar always gives so many freebies !!! love them
Hello and thanks for all the great tips!
The Revuelta , bacalo croquetas ! ... , wonderful I will be there for sure , thanks for the info ...
So far, I have tried the caracoles and it's delicious. I will go to Revuelta later for the bacalao.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Love the video! Hope you have a Seville edition!
What a well put together video. You and your kiwi humour 😂. Came here from mark weins video Weldone brother
Really love your video's and style! So much fun and it reminds me of somebody feed Phill
Every time I go to a pasteleria and can't decide what to buy, I always take the chocolate napolitana. It's just... The best
How you don't have your own tv series by now is astonishing! x
Sevilla minimo 2dias Córdoba 1 día y Cádiz ... Granada es imprescindible!!!
¡¡BRAAAAAVOOOOO!!! 🎉🎊👏👏👏😂 Divertido... y espectacular. 👌Ole.
Everything except the snails looked delicious 😍❤️
Snails are delicious trust me.
I love Taberna Sanlúcar and Casa Revuelta.
Loved this vid. You guys are so charming. Would love to visit Madrid some day.
Another great video. Thank you so much for creating this new revision. Question: which location do you recommend for both La Mallorquina and La Casa del Abuelo? I seem to find multiples of each. All the best to you!!!!
Thabks Art! Casa del abuelo in calle victoria and mallorquina in puerta del sol
@@spainrevealed James - many thanks for the quick reply. Will be updating my "target" list for the spring trip.
We tried eating those white beans while in Seville - they came as a tapas - did not know we were supposed to peel them 😂. Great update to the video! Suggest some Spain Revealed merch- a tshirt with “We Must Make Hunger” on it!!
Stay tuned for the t-shirt range.... maybe.
España es un país único.
What a fantastic video. If there is one place in the world that I would like to visit (or re-visit), it is Madrid and I would try to hit every spot that you showed.
