I agree it is very sad and the poor chap probably had no next of kin to pass it all on to, very tragic. As for the house, it's beautiful. I would love to live in it and restore it as best l could. What a shame that it is left to rot.
I agree 100% with your comment at 11:56 where you say, “you go your whole life collecting possessions and a house, then your stuff ends up like this (ie: rotten and trashed) ... so why even bother consuming stuff?” That is my exact thought when I watch these abandoned house videos ... especially when I see old family photos covered in black mould and dry rot ... children or other relatives don’t give a shit, and let all those memories disintegrate. Makes me think ... “it was a pointless waste of time and amounted to nothing in the end except a pile of rot”.
If there were any potential heirs . . they would have been scared off by the probable tens of thousands of $ in council rates owed etc . . the usual story

They probably lived out their retirement in that house, and had noone to will it on to, as you said.
