I agree, I wish children were taught crochet and knitting, the younger the better, it stays with you. I am 56, my mum taught me the basics of knitting when I was about 10, but I taught myself with the help of UA-cam tutorials to crochet 4 weeks ago, and it saddens me that I hadn’t learnt before. I wish schools offered for people to come in and teach, after school for free, or something like that.
It turned out SO cute! I love it! I couldn't agree more about crochet being good for our mental health. It's been a great help with my depression and it's so rewarding to see my finished creations. I hope you enjoyed your time home.
15:31 yes 😭 the first stitch i learned was a double crochet, so i got really used to yarning over before i put my hook into the next stitch, and then i learned arigurimi and it is literally single crochets EVERYWHERE. but now ive gotten used to that, I’ve gone too much the other way and keep forgetting to yarn over when doing a double crochet 😅
I’m making a patchwork cardigan while watching this. Perfect video to Crochet and Chill with lol. Love the look of your sweater, you did such a good job! Thanks for showing me such an interesting new shop!❤🧶❤
New subscriber here! Just wanted to say I love how you showed the "mess ups" you made. Not everything goes smoothly the first time and a lot of UA-camrs don't show that. Thanks for being a breath of fresh air!
That's so funny that yesterday I found your videos when I was working on my sweater! I love the wavy look! I might have to try it once I finish this color block sweater.
I just started crocheting this week and I agree crocheting is a therapeutic hobby but some people told me my project was ugly so I kinda stop crocheting for two days now and been binge watching your videos hehe I hope I get the motivation soon but keep it up genna you are so sweet and to everyone who’s reading this, I hope yall are doing fine as well 🩵
Omg the sweater turned out so good! I just started crocheting 3 days ago. Whenever I practice my stitches I always watch your videos. You are such an inspiration to me! Keep up the good work!❤
I really enjoyed this video and watching your journey in doing something new. Love your personality and energy! I watched your other videos and made your octopus several times...a great way to decompress after work. And I wouldn't have considering crocheting a sweater until now.
Love the sweater also my grandparents live in New Jersy im visiting them tomarrow you do live closer i live in california but nice to know i have a crochet friends who also visits there.
13:35 bro I started about a month ago and making my first grid project rn!! I love watching your videos and crocheting it’s so nice and gets my mind of anything ! I’m almost 10 and really love your videos ! keep posting I hope you get to the top with millions of supporters one day!! ❤❤
I found your videos just the other day and I'm loving them and this one as well! the sweater turned out sooooo cute! little mistakes/unexpected results can turn out so well and make your sweater unique~
It turned out amazing! I also mainly just do amigurumi and have been intimidated by clothing, but you've inspired me to branch out and try to make a sweater!! Thank you for another great video!! :)
I love your positivity and excitement so much! This sweater is gorgeous! I honestly didn't realise sleeves were just 2 panels put together ahaha. I've wanted to make a sweater for so long but thought it would be a lot more complex. I might just have to go shopping for yarn 😝
My tip to you as someone who makes mostly wearables or blankets is STITCH MARKERS lol. I've been at this for a bit now and I still always put stitch markers in the first and last stitch. It will help not to accidentally increase or decrease.
OH MY GOD! this is super super cuuuutttteeee !!!! Its so so nice on you !! Love this! i started watching your videos yesterday, and i'm addicted !!!! You are super cool and good ! much love from Sri Lanka ! 🎊🔥
How you were on your first panel is how I was my first time making a blanket. Lol I have come a long way since then but loved the sweater. Amazing job!
New subscriber here. I too have that fear that I am going to run out of yarn. And unfortunately I have run out sometimes.😪 The sweater turned out great, looks good on you.👋
I don’t like foundation chains either! Haha I can’t make them look right 😅 Currently making my first clothing as well (cardigan). hope it turns out as well as yours!
I love this! Thanks for sharing your struggles. I can relate 😂 I'm always scared I'm gonna run out of yarn, especially with kits. Also, I was crocheting a skirt for a doll today, and it was all half double crochet. When I had to start single crochet again, I automatically did hdc out of habit. I had to consciously remind myself how to sc 😆
I cant afford to buy kits like that i barely can afford yarn. But i wanna make this sweater. I found pattern by itself. Now can i use any yarns to make this? I got a ton of red heart i was given and this is perfect to use it.
Ahh! Let me be honest I haven't watched the full vid yet just wanted to come in and comment real quick because im actually a new subscribers and I love you and your channel your honestly SO Cool and Talented I love how Joyful you are! Love from India! ❤️
I'm new to crochet, but I constantly forget how to do other crochets when i've been doing one for ever.. I was hoping it would go away with practice :D
Yeah that always happens to me yesterday I had one ball of yarn and I had more than enough to be fine until I needed to get more but I made a run to the dollar tree and got four more😂🤦♀️
I do that too, I was crocheting while watching this video and when you said that I was like, IT'S NOT ONLY ME GUYS even tho I actually didn't say that to anyone 😭😭

What is the difference between a chain and a foundation chain?
Foundation stitches allow you to skip the starting chain and instead work a row of single crochet (or double crochet or treble crochet), building the stitches out side by side. Rather than creating base chains and starting chains, you just create the number of foundation stitches you need to start your row.
You have a chain and a foundation chain. The chain is just the thin long strand of just basic loops that you will build the rest of your project on. The foundation chain is when you use foundation stitches to create a base for your project. A starting chain tends to be too tight and will make it more difficult for your project to lay flat.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
