My local goodwill got super greedy for a while and everyone started leaving negative reviews and soon enough all employees including management were fired.

I wish I could find someone who loved me and who loved thrifting, and where it came so effortlessly. I have so enjoyed watching the pair of you vicariously and it gives me much hope that I should continue the hunt :)

I don’t know why goodwill cares what you purchase or for what , they have everything donated , and they should be happy to move inventory . The problem is the rent & wages have gone up so that may be why prices have risen . However our hospital auxiliary thrift shop is run entirely by volunteer & every day they have a special section that is half price , so t shirts become $1.50 and all sweaters $2.50 !!!
You two are my favorite couple to watch thrift. I love that he looks at handbags, my hubby has no clue. Shopping with someone is definitely fun. I love the estate and yard sales the best.
I hope Kayla knows how lucky she is to have a man that loves to go to all the sales and even looks at things that our men would not bother with! Shoes and Purses? Never! lol

Open the pillow cover and look inside for a tag. A goose down pillow insert is expensive and will increase your asking price. You can spritz them with watered down alcohol and leave them in the sun to disinfect (the insert). A silk or velvet cover can be spritzed with water and left in the sun for 30 minutes. Decorator pillows can easily retail for hundreds. Y’all found great stuff this day!

I can’t believe the prices at our Goodwill here in Oklahoma. They help people yes but pay beans and all the stuff they get is free. Doesn’t make sense!
When you said Neiman Marcus I started laughing thinking the two of you should do a road trip to New York City. What a blast you would have. I furnished almost my entire fist apartment with free stuff left on the street in the city. Matt would get the education of his life on knock off stuff. Do go and have fun!

Some pillows are used to stage a house, then donated. Others change their pillows with the season, and always want the newest item, because they can!

The Yankee Candle skeleton bowl is from their Boney Bunch collection. Some of them go for high prices. Plus, they discontinued the collection in 2023. Nice find.

I won’t give to or shop at goodwill any more. They get stuff for free, charge a lot for there stuff, employees makes are paid fairly well and according to information, very little goes to charity.

It's a dog hair exchange program LOL! I don't pass on that, if it has dog hair on it, it will simply acquire a similar patina from our german shepherd. I wash stuff anyway. Some pretty fabulous dryer sheets eliminate dog hair and we LOVE them!

Now that you are venturing in pillow world, start looking at quilts. I live my quilts and they are so versatile to use. Can be used as a throw, wall hanging, tablecloth and on beds. Picnics too.

FYI I always wash the pillows unless they are new with tags. Then I steam them . Pillows are good to sell . Never hurts to steam them and gets rid of germs or other creatures that may be hanging around . Steamer is a must have for clothes in my opinion. Men's shirts especially do well after being steamed . Great finds today !!

If the bag has the tag in it saying L.L. Bean, you've hit the jackpot if it's a Walmart bag forget it. You can't throw it in the wash. It obviously has already been through the wash.

Kayla a tip for washing pillows.......toss a canister of tennis balls into the dryer w them! Prevents wadding
I wouldn't recommend those pillows in the dryer even the washing machine would be iffy. For regular pillows definitely a good tip though, I do wash my own bed pillows as I have gathered some people don't they use them until they are disgusting and get new ones lol.

I highly recommend getting a Blackstone! We have one that has the air fryers, and we absolutely love it and cook everything on it. We splurged and got all the Blackstone accessories, lol. Blackstone has such good spices too.

I was just Texas my sister found a brand new pair of Tory Birch flats for $25.00 and I scored a beautiful Kate spade purse for $20.00 along with a full length Micheal Kores down filled jacket for 40.00 it had never been wore. Buy Dryell for home dry cleaning in your dryer for the pillows! Also if you want to freshen up pillows buy the space bags and spray Lysol or Fabreeze on pillows, liberally place in space bag and suck the air through them. I do my couch cushions even to freshen!
