People need time to consider the full pros and cons of their relationship commitment before other people on the sideline encouragingly determine their needs for them. As we all know, marriage is not a situation to be taken lightly. I saw a man on "911" UA-cam who took his own life recently. HIS healthy, beautiful (schoolteacher?) wife was injured by an object carelessly tossed on the freeway as they were driving. She lost an eye, her beautiful face was disfigured and she also had brain surgery as a result. They later mentioned that her long-term husband had been her caregiver. Yet, he killed himself two years later. Don't know why he did it, but 24/7 caregiving can take a toil on a kind, ablebodied person. They NEVER said why he did it but I remember when an important relative was ill, my sister and I had to empty her bed pans and turn her every so many minutes to prevent bedsores and etc. I LOVED my relative but our health became compromised for a period of time, (we became totally exhausted) before she passed. Caregiving cannot be taken lightly. It is easy to encourage others to do it BUT how long could we do it ourselves without craving a normal life again. Sometimes, I feel that kind caregivers become distraught and highly depressed because they may feel guilty about desiring a less stressful life for themselves, especially if they love that limited-abilities person. I have some limitations myself but after having an ex husband violently extricate himself from my life for his own health's sake, I decided I would stay on my own. And our GOD is leading me towards "a PEACE that surpasses all understanding." Blessings to you- woman of GOD.

They can go 3-5 more years before getting married. She has 2-2.5 to finish school. They have time.
