Hello Paddy. I also looked at Kioti and New Holland. They are probably all good machines, but the Kubota's turning circle and local dealership probably swung it.
Hi Ruben. I still haven't got my head around discussing my finances in public! If you have a chat with clarkesofcavan.ie/ they will tell you the going price.
@@GubbFarm Hello. Thanks for the response. I completely understand. I am going to buy a new (or second hand) mid size tractor for my organic vegetable farm and im looking what the options are. Kubota is at this moment on the top of my list. I was told the kind of tractor I need should be between 50 and 70hp and should cost between 15 en 25k €, but I think if I go for a new model like this it will probably be closer to 40k. (with front linkage and some other options). Anyway, I will find a dealer in my area and see from there. Best of luck with the hazelnut farm!
@@Ruben00021 your pricing is in line with what I experienced, but I did not have the front linkage, which I would like! One of the reasons I went for a new Kubota, is that I struggled to find a second hand one at a good price. I would phone as soon as I saw them on Done Deal, Farm Autotrader etc but they were always gone. Whatever the list price is, you should be able to get around 15% discount on a new machine. I settled on a new tractor because when I compared the depreciation on new machines versus second-hand machines, there wasn't much in it after offsetting it against taxable profits / other income. However you have the initial tie-up of capital, but thereafter if I refresh the machine every 5 years, I should have similar depreciation when compared to buying a 5 to 10-year-old machine, with the comfort of knowing that if it breaks the dealer fixes it (as I went for the 5-year warranty). On a side note, I would love to learn more about your organic farm and have subscribed to your channel, so put up some videos and give us a walk around. Good luck.
@@GubbFarm Yes, that makes sense. I will probably also go for a new tractor so I can choose all the options. These kind of tractors seem to be pretty rare here in Belgium on the 2nd hand market and the good ones are also sold very quickly. I might post some videos about my farm at some point. There is a FB page (@laatsteveld) where I try to make posts regularly but social media aren't really my strong side :) Thanks again for the feedback!
@@GubbFarm Yes, they are very handy. if you have the choice, it is better to use a front loader because you can easily dismantle it when you don't need it and put it on again when you need it. btw my english is not very good because i am only 13 years old
Great new equipment !
Thank you Giri. I am putting it through its paces as I type this, with a trailer full of clay. Video on its way!
Well wear!
Was it just the masseys and kubotas you were considering or were there any other makes that you might have gone with?

Great video! What was the price of the tractor?

oh yes kubota is very good we have the same one but with front loader
I have been thinking about buying a front loader for the Kubota. Are the front loaders any good?

@@GubbFarm before we got the kubota we had a tractor without a front loader and with a front loader it is much easier. it's best to put a shovel on it
Thanks Jonas!
