The Master System was my very first gaming system back then and made me a hardcore SEGA fan! One game i missed in your list is "Psycho World". A game you will L♥VE!
Yes, Psycho World is so good!! It was featured on my Master System Hidden Gems video. Thanks for watching, glad you have memories with the Master System.
My absolute favorite is Psycho Fox. I love the throwing of “Birdfly” as a weapon and the use of multiple characters for their different abilities throughout the game.
Great list! My list of 10/10 SMS games: - OutRun - OutRun Europa - Jurassic Park - Submarine Attack - Sonic 1/2/Chaos - Deep Duck Trouble - Castle of Illusion - Land of Illusion - Phantasy Star
Awesome to have you find my channel! I have tons of SMS videos, as it's such a great console. Master of Darkness and Psychic World are amazing. Great choices.
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap got a 2017 remake with hand-drawn graphics and a rich orchestral arrangement of the soundtrack. You need to check it out right away. Plus, the game gives the player the ability to switch to the original 8-bit graphics and music from the Sega Master System. All the passwords that worked in the Master System original also work in the remake.
You can also check out the Dragon's Curse remake 2007 by Vile 1011. It takes a 2-3 hours long game tops and makes it into 10 to 20 hours. Super interesting game and a lot bigger then the original WB3.

Haha, yes Dave came over all the way from Texas and we played the Master System a ton! It was a blast. Phantasy Star is so good. You better be picking up Zillion soon. Thanks for watching buddy!

Love to hear how much you enjoyed those years. Those are some great selections you have, I'd love to get Asterix in my collection. Thanks for watching!
There are some great games still on the Master System despite it not selling too well. I know you love your JRPGs so if you haven't yet, check out Phantasy Star. Thanks for watching, pal!
I'm very glad you found this channel too! Thanks for watching, and I hope you have a great journey into retro gaming. It's actually refreshing to play older games.
Nice list! Zillion and Choplifter are classic favorites of mine! Just played and completed Phantasy Star for first time this year! (On Switch tho, Sega Ages series)
It has a really good remake where the hand drew new graphics for it but the game is the same. You can switch between the original graphics and new on the fly, same with the soundtrack. Well worth a replay!
Dang, I hadn't heard a lot of these entries before, save the ones from well known series like Phantasy Star and Wonder Boy. Thanks for the wonderful suggestions!
the SMS was a strong Console for SEGA, so strong that Nintendo used dirty tactics in order to bury the 8-bit wonder. which is why SEGA comes back with a Vengeance on their 16-Bit Console with the "Genesis Does What NintenDON'T." campaign.
I have played roughly half of the games on your list and while some of these belong on here there is one game missing that I know for a fact that you love to play and show people on the Master System… 🏴☠️👯♂️
Such a great time staying up that night. Such a great memory. All of those games are bangers and I think I played all of them except phantasy star. Great list and great video my guy
We had a blast, next time I won't feel so crappy. Cherry was particularly excited to play games with you too haha. Although according to her, you only scored higher because you saw her play it first.
My 10/10 SMS games: 1. Kenseiden 2. Spellcaster 3. Wonderboy 2 4. Wonderboy 3 5. Alex Kidd 1 6. Shinobi 7. Rastan I havent played Phantasy Star but it does look like a 10/10 as well
So many of these games I still have to check out myself. I really need to play more Phantasy Star games. All versions of Castle of Illusion I played I found really fun. And Wonder Boy games are for sure perfection, love that new games and remakes have been made over time
Great list buddy and hard to argue with any of those. I really enjoy Astro Warrior so I can see why LD stayed up all night to play it 😅 Keep up the Master System love mate 👍
R-type was a truly humbling experience as a kid. Again and again to get as far as possible. Zillion over zillion2!? The sequel definitely improved the music, art direction, and animation. I might be biased from also being into Akira and robotech at that time
R Type is a tough one for sure! There's no rushing through it. Yes, I loved Zillion!! I actually found Zillion II to be disappointing but that's awesome you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Astro Warrior is like the Altered Beast of the Master System. It's short, fun and chances are you played it like a thousand times. And came as a pack in game.
I really wish a home brewer would add 6 or more new levels to Astro Warrior, the gameplay is so great, it just needs a bit more content. I agree 100% with your list, but I would also add Master of Darkness, Shinobi, and Outrun to your list.
That would be amazing if a home brewer was able to add more levels to Astro Warrior! I still need to play through Master of Darkness and Shinobi. Outrun is a blast! Thanks for watching.
Cool hearing the story about Lame Dad playing the SMS till 4am at your house lol! Sonic 2 is one I always enjoyed for sure, and Zillion is one I need to play through one day based on your praise for it! Love the idea of this video being games that you seem “10 out of 10” solely on replayability factor. Great video TC!
Yeah it was fun hosting Dave and giving him a proper introduction to the Master System. He loved it! Zillion you should play for sure my guy. These are some super replayable games, may not be perfect, but tons of fun. Thanks for watching!
I always prefer a fun shmup to a hard one. I've only played the remastered Castle of Illusion, but that looks awesome! I'll have to make time one of these days. Phantasy Star is one of those ones I'm embarrassed to have never played, so I really have to slot it in at some point. RPGs are just such a time commit. Sonic is another big blind spot in my gaming knowledge. I've played like the first level of them, but that's it. Submarine Attack really does have awesome art! Wonderboy is another super polished game. Totally understandable. I do love a good platform puzzler, so I think Zillion would be one I'd like. Another fantastic showcase here!
Yes, I agree. Shmups are much more fun when I can last longer than two minutes! The SMS Mickey Castle games are so good. I highly recommend them. Phantasy Star is so good my guy, you need to find a way to play it! Sonic is so cool on the SMS, completely different than on the Genesis. Submarine Attack has amazing artwork but it's always a great shooter. Wonderboy III is my favorite game on the SMS. It's the best all-around game. Zillion I think you would love. I could see you thinking out your moves. Thanks for watching buddy!
I remember my mum was angry when i finished Castle of Illusion in one day and it had cost a massive 30 pounds (still a siginficant amount of money today). It was good but very easy. What I really want to comment on though is Wonderboy 3. It is as good as its Mario peers of the time. The gameplay fantastic, the RPG element, the ability to change into different animals and the wonderful, sometimes haunting and melancholic music. I love the fact you talked about 'goosebumps'. There's something emotional and beautiful about Wonderboy 3 that's hard to describe - it really gets to you - you end up caring about it in a way that's quite deep. It's one of the greatest games I've ever played. A special shout out for Ultima 4 as well, which made a massive impression on me.
Ive heard you mention submarine attack several times and I finally tried it out and I can see myself finishing the game. Its fun, the graphics look amazing, the music is decent. I do have a few complaints that I think if fixed would make it a 10 for me, the submarine is a tad slow, even after the speed power ups, I wish the power ups came from other enemies, not just the ones above the water and lastly when you die and respawn I seemed to always respawn right into enemies and it looks like you dont have invincibility at that point so I almost always take damage immediately. Overall a fun shooter.
Love to hear you are enjoying Submarine Attack! It's a great game and I feel like not many people know about it. The graphics are so good. I agree, the sub is slow and your other points are very valid. Great to hear your input, I hope to hear more of it with other games. Happy gaming my friend.
while many kids of the time had an NES as their first Console, i asked for the SEGA Master System to be my first and on my 5th Birthday, my Grandma made sure that i got it. i had 15 games by the time i had to trade in my SMS to get a Console that was still getting games made for it. and 10 of them were 10/10 for me. those games are the following; Shinobi Kenseiden Phantasy Star Miracle Warriors Zillion Ghostbusters R-Type Global Defense Hang On Golvellius: Valley of Doom all but Phantasy Star, i have played and WON these games, yet still come back to them again and again over the years. Global Defense i even completed a Perfect Run, which requires every enemy in the game to be shot down in the first half of every stage. oh how i wish i had the ability to record gameplay back when i did that.
Interesting list. Not just the obvious games. These are mine - Golden Axe Warrior, The Ninja, Cloud Master, WB in Monster Land, WB3, AKIMW, Black Belt, Fantasy Zone, Land of Illusion - Mickey Mouse
Oddly my MOST played SMS cartridge, hands down, is Monopoly. The game zips along, you and 10 computer players. I had one of the rapid fire controllers so I would hold down the 2 button the whole time. Phantasy Star for sure; my save game on there still works now in 2024! My favorite is Double Dragon which I love to play over and over to reminisce how faithful the level layout and moveset were to the arcade (2 players!) compared to the NES version. I also love the first three Wonder Boy games but no longer have the patience to play them through.
Wow, what a great inclusion on the list! I haven't played Monopoly on the SMS, but on the PC it's a lot of fun. I'll have to add it to my list. The Wonder Boy games are so great. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
As with all retro games, it comes down to when and where you first played it, just as much as the quality of the game itself. Kenseiden's my favourite MS game. R-Type and one or two others are great too, but when I think if the MS, I think of Kenseiden. I played it recently, it's not as easy as I remember.... I completely suck at it! I could feel my younger self looking on with utter contempt and everlasting shame, seeing how far I've fallen. lol
I agree, nostalgia does have a lot of input with our scores and opinions of video games. Haha, I think our younger selves had more patience too! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
One game I have to put on my list to go alongside Phantasy Star is the Master System’s port of Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. It’s nearly a perfect port, with the only major change being that the dungeons are now full 2-d instead of the 2-d/3-d mix.
@2:09 aww that's precious! hahah that's so awesome he enjoyed it so much! Castle of Illusion 🔥 Phantasy Star looks great and definitely something I'd play! Love a good adventure game! lol the faces in the wrestling game are hilarious.. and the ref @6:15 looks like he is doing some kind of sultry move for the camera 🤣 @9:26 yeah just that one boss looks cool! Wonderboy 3 looks like something I'd love too! haven't heard of a bunch of these but this was cool to see this list Tiger, nice video!
Haha, he's a cool guy that I met from UA-cam. He's from Texas just like you! He comes up once a year to hang out. It was fun introducing him to the Master System. Phantasy Star is a huge time sink but it tells a wonderful story and it's cool that Alis is one of the first female protagonist. Pro Wrestling is so silly, I didn't even notice the faces 😆 Wonder Boy III is excellent, it's the best the master system has to offer. Thanks for watching, Val!
Not played these games but the ones that I'm most attracted to: "The Disney game" R Type (because I love Gradius) Sonic And worth talk about: Pro Wrestling! Because there's a game for NES with the same name but it's another wrestling game with different graphics and audio. I like the NES game and I'm so curious about the Sega 8-bit game with the same name. Most of these game should be included on a Master System Classic Mini and/or Master System on Switch Online! I love how we all still love pretty many of these 8-bit games from the 80s and early 90s. 35-40 years old games or so, some of them. One thing I totally love with that console war NES vs Master System is that almost all games were console exclusives! Now many years later that's a very good thing. Thanks to that we have a great retro games library. Compare with the constant war between Xbox and PS: 90-95% of all games are on both consoles. Almost no console exclusives. I grew up with NES and SNES and almost all friends with video games had also that. Was so hard to find someone with Master System and Genesis. I never "hated" Sega, it was just that when you were a kid you could only dream of having two consoles :) and because "everybody" had NES and then SNES it was a great thing so we all could borrow games from each other. Thanks to that I discovered Mega Man! What a game!! Love that they ported Mega Man 1-3 to Genesis and added some extra gameplay! I can probably make this comment so much longer because I love to talk about this stuff :)
Loved reading your comment, it's so fun to discover new games and share them with others. Pro Wrestling is a ton of fun, and I'm glad you want to play R-Type, Sonic, and Mickey's Castle of Illusion. All excellent games. Thanks for watching and dropping such a thoughtful comment.
Good list some of my favourite master system games here especially Wonder Boy Dragon Trap and to be honest I love all the Wonder Boy games as a kid playing from the 1st WB platform game and then on to the second introducing explorer ,plat former love all of them also don’t forget three WB games for the MD/GEN console we in the west got two and it’s a shame we didn’t get the third one which I reckon is the best as I only got to play it sometime 2010 as I didn’t even know about it and it’s great
Solid titles on here! I need to try World of Wrestling and Submarine Attack!!! This was great Seth and man congratulations on how well it’s doing, great job!!!
Haha, well make sure you look for Pro Wrestling as that's what it is called. Submarine Attack is a PAL exclusive as stated, I snagged it over there, but good luck finding it here! Thanks for watching.
Wonderboy 3 is not only one of my favorite Master System games, but one of my favorite games period, and the Master System game I've played the most. I once, just for the heck of it, tried getting to the Samurai Dragon boss using only the Mouse form instead of the Lion form. I somehow made it (that subterranean section getting to his area is a nightmare in the Mouse form) but couldn't beat the boss. However I did come close. I got him down to something like 20 hit points left, but it takes either 2 or 3 (I forget exactly which one) hits in Mouse form to take 1 point of damage away. It took forever. Still I had to try it at least once to see if it was even possible. As for 10/10 games not on here I'd have to include the PAL exclusive Master Of Darkness aka Sega's attempt at Castlevania and the Conan The Barbarian in all but name Rastan.
That's very impressive you made it so far with the Mouse! I've never thought to play through it in other ways. Wonder Boy III I think is my favorite SMS game. I do own Master of Darkness, it has one of the coolest cover art. Still need to play it though. Thanks for watching!
That _Astro Warrior_ looks similar to a game I remember playing on…the Intellivision, maybe? 🤔 Those large ships with destructible portions are very reminiscent of it, but I don’t recall the name of the game. I remember my friend playing a _Phantasy Star_ game on the Genesis, and I thought the coolest part (of that one, at least) was that even though it was turn based combat, it still showed the sprites attacking each other! It looked great at the time, and that franchise is still pretty popular from what I understand today. Great vid, man! Glad to see it’s doing well for ya! 🤘 _Side note - I believe you said your hat was for a minor league baseball team, but it definitely has the Brewers logo in it. Fun fact: the Milwaukee Brewers logo is not only a baseball in a baseball glove, but it’s also the letters ‘M’ and ‘B’ for Milwaukee Brewers. Feel free to whip that knowledge out on some baseball fan._ 😅
Haha, I'm not sure how much you've been drinking when watching this but Astro Warrior is definitely a SMS exclusive! I'd love to see what game it was on the Intellivision, but I've never played one to begin with. Phantasy Star is pretty rad, and you're right there's animation when the sprites are attacking which is pretty sweet. LOL no, this is a Brewer's hat. It just says M I L with the brewers logo on the bottom. I do love the logo for the Brewers and did know about the M and the B which is genius. Did you know my TigerChainsaw logo has a hidden weenie in it??
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames hmmm, not sure why I thought the ships were blue, but the game I was thinking of turns out to be _The Dreadnought Factor._ ua-cam.com/video/bj3ZAz3I7jk/v-deo.htmlsi=m2m-XhOShQJvmYsG It was cool, you had to destroy the big ship before it reached earth by blowing up all the little vents scattered around. They were often protected by laser guns and mini fighters, so you’d have to make multiple passes as the mother ship gets closer to earth. There was strategy involved too, because you could focus attacks on thruster jets at the end of the ship to slow it down and make more attack passes - pretty smart for how old of a game it is. Also…where in your logo is that hidden, because I can’t find it. 😅
Some absolute classics mate 😍. I’d love to carve some time out to play through phantasy star. The visuals still are pretty amazing. I remember you speaking highly of zillion before so I really must track it down and give it a go!! Have a fun one. 😊👍🕹️
*great video sir! All these games deserve full scores and Psycho Fox & Out Run sir! I like Zillion II more sorry You can get FM sound on most these games if you even know about that feature sir?!?* ⭐️
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames I watched a full run and I was ALMOST THERE. Some of these games like wonderboy are like 3hr long but some like r-type are actually achievable it seems. Another great game we played co-op in a lot was Quartet. We finished it a million times
Nice list! I wished I could add something concrete to it, but as you already know, I've never owned an SMS, so I haven't experienced any of those perfect score games! But I'm planning on buying the Retron 5 SMS adapter as it's the least expensive and easiest option to play that system on a modern tv! I definitely want to play Phantasy Star (it shouldn't be a surprise to you lol) and that Wrestling game reminds me of Tag Team Wrestling on the NES so I could be tempted to play it as well! Great video and keep up the good work!
That would be so cool for you to play the SMS games that way. Phantasy Star is right up your alley! It's a big time sink, but I know you love your JRPGs. Thanks for watching buddy, happy Sunday!
I bought my Master System when I realized that the Sonic games were different from the Mega Drive ones. Sonic 2 is my favorite Mega Drive game, but i feel the Master System version isn't as good, probably because there is no Tails. I started playing Choplifter and Submarine Atack after one of your videos, and they are really fun. And, I suck at R-Type (actually I suck at all type of shooters).
When I found that out too, I had to grab the Sonic games for my Master System! Love to hear you started up Choplifter and Submarine Attack. Thanks for watching!
Me and a friend played pro wrestling to death. We even discovered that if you pin your opponent after the second or third knockdown, it's a guaranteed three count.
Great vid again👍 Sega Master System is such a great system. My top 10: 1. Phantasy Star 2. Power Strike 2 3. Wonderboy 3 4. Ninja Gaiden 5. Sonic the hedgehog (S2, S Chaos, both equally great) 6. Alex Kidd in Miracle World 7. Astrix 8. Zillion 9. Psychic World 10. R-Type
Golden Axe Warrior should be one of the gems for the SMS also. But I don’t have it, nor played it. Relative rare to get and expensive. It is on my list to get. Everything I’ve seen and heard is that it is amazing, and actually more impressive than Zelda 1 on the NES.
And be sure to check out Land of Illusion, the follow-up, of Castle of Illusion. Beats Castle of Illusion in many ways, and that while Castle of Illusion is very good game. Check it out sometime.
12:41 When I played Zillion as a child, I eventually got tired of writing down the symbols on paper so I came with names for them all that I would recite and remember… M, Heart, Lock, Double Lock, Upside Down Glass, Bug, Eagle, Eyes, Glasses, and 0. Imagine how my mind was blown when, some two decades later, I realized the symbols were the numbers 1-9 and 0 mostly mirrored vertically! 😂 With the exception of 8 being sorta laid on its side, and I can’t quite figure out 4. But, wow! All those weeks of calling out those silly made up names 😂
Premize? Not premise? Did you write all of this or borrow from sites? Quality list. So many I haven't played before which is sad as MS was my first console
Yeah, I mispronounce words from time to time. What makes you think I borrowed from other sites haha, these are my memories that I'm sharing and I'm just free talking in this. Awesome to hear that the Master System was your first console. It was mine too. There's a lot of great games for it. Thanks for watching.
I remember playing phantasy star probably the absolute most on my mastersystem as a kid. We did everything and saw everything. The most frustrating thing though? WE could never find out how to finish the game. We were like..DONE. we just had to go confront the big bad boss but we looked literally EVERYWHERE. It was years and years later when I was in collage and I thought about it and though "hey I bet the internet knows" so I looked it up and a soon as I read what you have to do I slapped my forehead so hard. I went home that night and dug the system out and game and ...... the save battery was dead. But ya know what? fuck it I just started over and played the whole game again and it was just as awesome. This time I was able to finish it and wow that scratched an itch I never knew I had. I used some maps from online to get through the first person dungeons though. Back in the day we had to make maps for hours.
Loved reading your comment. It's always fun to meet other Master System fans. I laughed when reading your story about Phantasy Star. Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment.
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames no problem. nostalgia all around. I wish I still had mine! It..vanished at some point, I think my mom chucked it all out during some house clean up after I moved out at some point
Excellent question! When I was a kid, someone asked me what my nickname was. I explained to them that I didn't know what a nickname was, so they told me it was a combination of things that you like. My favorite things at the time were Tigers and Chainsaws 😂So I told them my nickname would be TigerChainsaw. It has stuck ever since!
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames never would have guessed lol I've heard of kids liking lions and tigers, that's common, but chainsaws? Lol your lucky you got to pick your nick name, most of us are not as lucky lol
I really didn't like Pro Wrestling. The cover art is funny though. R-Type doesn't click with me either. I prefer Sonic 1 to Sonic 2 by a wide margin. I prefer Fantasy Zone over Astro Warrior. I would add Dragon's Crystal, Golden Axe Warrior, Desert Strike, Road Rash, Rampart... Maybe Maze Hunter 3D, Micro Machines, Master of Darkness.
I'd easily swap Asterix and Obelix for any sonic game tbh. Sonic 1 was a solid game, but nowhere near as fun as Asterix. Sonic 2 is just a frustrating game (i had both i should know and yes i beat them both with all emeralds)
Sonic 2 is far from a 10/10. IMO it’s a 6 or 7 to me. The level design and level gimmicks are frustrating. (THAT BLOODY HANG GLIDER) Sonic 1 and Sonic Chaos are far better experiences. No Alex Kidd either?
The Master System was my very first gaming system back then and made me a hardcore SEGA fan! One game i missed in your list is "Psycho World". A game you will L♥VE!

I love the original wonderboy personally, always my fave wonderboy to be honest. Alex kid shinobi world is so good too

My list of 10/10 SMS games:
- OutRun
- OutRun Europa
- Jurassic Park
- Submarine Attack
- Sonic 1/2/Chaos
- Deep Duck Trouble
- Castle of Illusion
- Land of Illusion
- Phantasy Star
Jurassic Park is one I really want to play on the SMS! I need it in my collection still. Thanks for watching buddy.

Master of Darkness is so good.

Wonder Boy 2
The Ninja

That is a great list. Loved all of these
Excellent choices! Thanks for watching.
So many of these games I still have to check out myself. I really need to play more Phantasy Star games. All versions of Castle of Illusion I played I found really fun. And Wonder Boy games are for sure perfection, love that new games and remakes have been made over time
There are some sweet games on the SMS. You need to play Phantasy Star! Thanks for watching.
Choplifter is amazing on the MasterSystem!
such a fun game
Heck yeah it is! Thanks for watching.
Great list buddy and hard to argue with any of those. I really enjoy Astro Warrior so I can see why LD stayed up all night to play it 😅
Keep up the Master System love mate 👍
It was really cool to introduce him to the Master System properly and have him play some games. Thanks for watching buddy!
There is a wonderboy 3 extended game on PC and it ROCKS.
Oh wow, I didn't know that!
I never thought about it like that, but I can see it! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
Adding a few of these to the list because, since I didn't grow up with a SMS, I am new to this 8bit world and appreciate recommendations like this!
You are so silly, come over and have some sleep overs with me and I can introduce you to the Master System!
We spent hours on wonderboy 3, sonic 1, bubble bobble, asterix and obelix and so many more. Great memories
Those would be some great memories! Thanks for watching.
That’s not a bad list dude, one of would say is Action fighter that’s an underrated game.
I need to get Action Fighter into my collection! Thanks for watching buddy.
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames cheap but very fun 👊🏻
Cool hearing the story about Lame Dad playing the SMS till 4am at your house lol! Sonic 2 is one I always enjoyed for sure, and Zillion is one I need to play through one day based on your praise for it! Love the idea of this video being games that you seem “10 out of 10” solely on replayability factor. Great video TC!
Yeah it was fun hosting Dave and giving him a proper introduction to the Master System. He loved it! Zillion you should play for sure my guy. These are some super replayable games, may not be perfect, but tons of fun. Thanks for watching!
Submarine attack finally gets some love! The music is epic.
Heck yeah! I've featured it a few times in some of my lists. It's such a great game that no one talks about. Thanks for watching.
Very sold picks Seth!😊 I have a few of those...probably cos of you 😅
Haha well hopefully you enjoyed them! Thanks for watching buddy.
Love hearing all the passion about the Master System! I need to play Ultima IV myself. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Happy gaming my friend.
while many kids of the time had an NES as their first Console, i asked for the SEGA Master System to be my first and on my 5th Birthday, my Grandma made sure that i got it. i had 15 games by the time i had to trade in my SMS to get a Console that was still getting games made for it. and 10 of them were 10/10 for me. those games are the following;
Shinobi
Kenseiden
Phantasy Star
Miracle Warriors
Zillion
Ghostbusters
R-Type
Global Defense
Hang On
Golvellius: Valley of Doom
all but Phantasy Star, i have played and WON these games, yet still come back to them again and again over the years. Global Defense i even completed a Perfect Run, which requires every enemy in the game to be shot down in the first half of every stage. oh how i wish i had the ability to record gameplay back when i did that.
Some awesome games on your list. Loved hearing that you grew up with it. What a cool birthday present. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
If you like Astro Warrior, check out Star Force and Star Soldier. A lot of what makes Astro Warrior fun could be found in those games.
I will for sure! Thank you for the suggestions and thanks for watching.
Interesting list. Not just the obvious games. These are mine - Golden Axe Warrior, The Ninja, Cloud Master, WB in Monster Land, WB3, AKIMW, Black Belt, Fantasy Zone, Land of Illusion - Mickey Mouse
Some excellent choices of your own! Thanks for watching.
Solid list. Can't argue with any of your choices. Our number ones are the same.
You have great taste then! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames of course! I get excited when you cover the SMS!
The sega Master System was the first console I ever played so this takes me back! Always top Tier content bro!
Heck yeah my guy, you're in the SMS fam! Always nice to hear from you. Thanks for watching!
I still need Ultima IV too! I'd love to add it sometime. Thanks for watching.
I really love Sonic 2. It’s honestly one of my favorites in the entire series.
That's awesome to hear! I think it's a great game in the series. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
@2:09 aww that's precious! hahah that's so awesome he enjoyed it so much!
Castle of Illusion 🔥
Phantasy Star looks great and definitely something I'd play! Love a good adventure game!
lol the faces in the wrestling game are hilarious.. and the ref @6:15 looks like he is doing some kind of sultry move for the camera 🤣
@9:26 yeah just that one boss looks cool!
Pro Wrestling is so silly, I didn't even notice the faces 😆
Wonder Boy III is excellent, it's the best the master system has to offer.
Thanks for watching, Val!
3:14 that's also Mega Man vibes! From game 1 or 2. When Mickey has to jump from a moving platform to another...
Yeah, I can see it!!
Not played these games but the ones that I'm most attracted to:
"The Disney game"
R Type (because I love Gradius)
Sonic
And worth talk about: Pro Wrestling!
Alex Kidd in Miracle World should be on this list. One of the first adventure games I ever played. It was challenging and exciting as well.
Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a great game! Awesome choice. Thanks for watching.
Good list some of my favourite master system games here especially Wonder Boy Dragon Trap and to be honest I love all the Wonder Boy games as a kid playing from the 1st WB platform game and then on to the second introducing explorer ,plat former love all of them also don’t forget three WB games for the MD/GEN console we in the west got two and it’s a shame we didn’t get the third one which I reckon is the best as I only got to play it sometime 2010 as I didn’t even know about it and it’s great
Wonder Boy is such a great series! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames oh man sorry, I try to pay attention to the names lol! And I’m sure I can find the rom 😉
In the UK I think it was called Wonderboy in Monsterland...Great game we were always looking for all the secret/hidden doors in the game
It's always fun finding secrets in video games.
_Side note - I believe you said your hat was for a minor league baseball team, but it definitely has the Brewers logo in it.
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames hmmm, not sure why I thought the ships were blue, but the game I was thinking of turns out to be _The Dreadnought Factor._
ua-cam.com/video/bj3ZAz3I7jk/v-deo.htmlsi=m2m-XhOShQJvmYsG
It was cool, you had to destroy the big ship before it reached earth by blowing up all the little vents scattered around.
Phantasy Star is a time sink, haha! But like you said it looks amazing. Zillion truly is wonderful. Thanks for watching buddy!
*great video sir! All these games deserve full scores and Psycho Fox & Out Run sir! I like Zillion II more sorry You can get FM sound on most these games if you even know about that feature sir?!?* ⭐️
Psycho Fox is a great game! I'd like to play it fully though at some point. I wasn't aware of the FM feature. Thanks for watching!
the r-type big green ship enemy was next level so much fun/memories there. never finished it though, I should go watch a full game playthrough video
You definitely came to the right channel if you love the Master System! You should give R-Type another shot sometime.
I didn't realise Submarine Attack was PAL exclusive.
Yeah, and it's a darn good one! I'm happy to add it into my collection. Thanks for watching.

@@TigerChainsawVideoGames no problem, I'm enjoying your content.
@@gradsgames That means a lot! 🤙
Great content! Congratulations. First viewer here and I just subscribed. Great list, I would add Power Strike/Aleste serie and Wonder Boy 1.
Love to hear it, thank you for the support! I'd love to get Power Strike into my collection, it's a pricey one though. Thanks for watching!
Me and a friend played pro wrestling to death. We even discovered that if you pin your opponent after the second or third knockdown, it's a guaranteed three count.
Pro Wrestling is so much fun with a friend. Thanks for watching!
@TigerChainsawVideoGames its amazing that such a simple game was so much fun. What do you think about the game "cyborg hunter"? I loved that game!!
Great vid again👍
Sega Master System is such a great system.
My top 10:
1. Phantasy Star
2. Power Strike 2
3. Wonderboy 3
4. Ninja Gaiden
5. Sonic the hedgehog (S2, S Chaos, both equally great)
6. Alex Kidd in Miracle World
7. Astrix
8. Zillion
9. Psychic World
10. R-Type
Thanks watching! I love your list too. I need to get Power Strike in my collection still.
12:41 When I played Zillion as a child, I eventually got tired of writing down the symbols on paper so I came with names for them all that I would recite and remember…
M, Heart, Lock, Double Lock, Upside Down Glass, Bug, Eagle, Eyes, Glasses, and 0.
I also came up with nicknames for the symbols! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.

Love to hear it! Such a great series.
Where does the name Tiger chainsaw come from?
Excellent question! When I was a kid, someone asked me what my nickname was. I explained to them that I didn't know what a nickname was, so they told me it was a combination of things that you like. My favorite things at the time were Tigers and Chainsaws 😂So I told them my nickname would be TigerChainsaw. It has stuck ever since!

Wonder boy 3 is the best game
Yes it is! Thanks for watching.
I'd easily swap Asterix and Obelix for any sonic game tbh. Sonic 1 was a solid game, but nowhere near as fun as Asterix. Sonic 2 is just a frustrating game (i had both i should know and yes i beat them both with all emeralds)
I haven't had the pleasure of playing an Asterix game. Would love to add them to my collection. Thanks for watching!
@@TigerChainsawVideoGames It was never released in the US, but there's ways :-)
