How do you cope with the anxiety of waiting for a call/email or casting and what are some things to distract yourself from thinking about it? I'm currently waiting after a callback for a huge tv show, and it's stressing me out. Also, how do you get an agent and get into equity since most equity shows already require you to be a part of it. Thank you so much ☺ (I love your channel btw!)

Hi Krystina. My most huge win was walking 21K on Monday November 7. Also a question. How do you as an actor deal/handle with negativity in the media when like you get a bad review or backlash in the media? Do you stress over it, do you have a major break down, or do you just take time away from social media and ignore the nasty comments?

Tips for studying songs or lines when you’re busy.
Record yourself speaking the lines and listen to it while doing chores/ cooking etc.
Record yourself speaking your opponents lines, with pauses for you to speak your lines in between.
    - record with as little interpretation/ ritme as possible. That way you won’t get used to just one way of saying it.
Have a pianist record a note/ melody guide for a song and listen to it on the train for example. Or listen to an already existing cast album if that’s the same cut as your audition.
Plan to study/ rehearse with somebody. A scene partner, a singing class, your friend etc. Active study for an hour will beat trying to study tired by yourself for hours.
If you’re really in a time crunch and you’re asked to prepare material for different roles, have your agent ask the casting director if there’s a role you should focus on. (I don’t know wether this is ok or normal practice in the US.. But I work as a musical theatre actress in Europe, and here it’s totally fine).
Try and make use of travel time. Maybe take a train that’s 15 mins longer but without change overs, which will allow for more efficient study time.
Let friends and family know you’re busy. So you’re not dealing with the guilt of neglecting them.
Take time for mindfulness, a strong mind with a good mind set will perform better. Sometimes going to bed 15 mins later after some yoga will give you a better sleep. Or taking a 5 min break to listen to a positive meditation will help you study better.
Lastly take some extra time in the beginning to have extra time in the next days (if you have days). E.g. meal prep, print out your sheets, high light them, tape your sheet music, prepare your outfit, PLAN your time and write it out.
    Hope this helps 😊🙏🏽

I’ve always wondered about the difference between an agent and a manager - would love if you could explain! Have a great week ❤

an agent represents a large group of people (roster) while a manager is more one on one! they both reach out and get you auditions, both equally just as important. managers just have certain perks that will help you once you're more of an established actor! hope this helps :)

Hi Krystina! Love this series. Thank you so much for it :)
A question - I know a bunch of people who were set on being a full time professional actor/singer/performer, but weren't finding success and decided to pursue some other career instead. Did you ever consider other career paths? How did you make the assessment to keep at this one, and how did you know it was the right move for you?

Loving this weekly series! Thank you so much for your transparency and positivity!
Win of the week: Started rehearsals for my first musical since the pandemic! Having so much fun singing onstage again.
What are your thoughts about joining the union vs staying nonunion? The support and care from union seems amazing. But the loss of all nonunion job opportunities for someone who is trying to build a resume seems daunting. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated!!

Obviously actors lives are a little more complicated when it comes to scheduling. For momentous life occasions like bridal/baby showers, weddings, etc., how difficult is it to plan these things when the majority of your friends are in the same career as you? Is it just understood that some people (on tour, in a show, spontaneous job) won't be able to attend? Just curious about the logistics and the feelings around it

I had a super stressful two days of callbacks, my school is doing Matilda which has been a dream of mine for a long time. I was working really hard on my sides and songs, but I was overwhelmed due to all the sports and other extra curricular I do. A lot of my friends auditioned and that was all they talked about up until Friday. There was a really tense vibe around them... On Friday the cast list came out , I got my dream role: Matilda in my middle school play.

btw love the cabinet that is ...the camera turns things around, so let's go with it's stage right from what the camera is showing me! Is that a an heirloom, thrift store find, did you refinish it yourself, is it a credenza for an office or a sideboard for a formal dining room....? I love furniture! Love the video content too of course!
