      @@benjo_5 how can you possibly compare frasier to the simpsons?! Intelligent humor and incredible acting,or, a bunch of yellow cartoon characters ?🤔 nope.

    • @benjo_5
      @benjo_5 3 роки тому +3

      It depends how you are measuring "best"....I agree that the quality and humor was far more superior in Frasier, however, the Simpsons is more successful and more people have heard of Simpsons than of Frasier
      I absolutely adore Frasier and have watched the series multiple times, and can honestly count with one hand the number of episodes I've watched of the Simpsons on one hand

      I agree, that The Simpsons could be considered as being “better” than Frasier, but I wouldn’t really class it as being a spin-off, like Frasier is; Frasier took an established character, from another popular show, and built a whole new world around him: filled with different characters, and even a different style of humour, to what we saw previously in “Cheers”.
      Whereas The Simpsons merely started life as “shorts”, and then changed to a longer format; but it kept the same basic premise: a show about the many hijinks of a yellow family, and the people they know in Springfield, and didn’t change much else, apart from the character designs.
      I suppose, technically, it can be classed as a “spin-off”, since it debuted as part of the Tracy Ullman show; in which case, I’d probably agree, that it is the greatest spin-off in history.
      It just really depends on how you define a spin-off; but, either way, Frasier is not only up there, with the greatest spin-offs in history, I think it’s also one of the very best sitcoms of all time.
      All the best. 👍😀

      I don't know. The episode, "The Baby Sitter" in Season 11 destroyed any growth that was previously developed. Compare that to the episode, "Police Story.

    That is one of my favourite moments of acting in any sitcom
    Doesn’t matter if they were laughing about an inside joke
    Or whether they were cracking up because of the audience
    That was just genuine and it felt so much like a father and son feel good moment. Just beautiful

    • @redacted2275
      @redacted2275 2 роки тому

      You're right... I think they didn't expect the audience to laugh at that line.
      For example, I was doing all kind of sad relations between "a couple of years" and Martin being old, therefore it could be in fact a couple of years until, you know... and then I heard laughing lol and it took me out of my melancholic thought process. They looked kind of surprised, too.

  • @emmarutherford4003

    Me being the sad individual that I am, I actually timed their third conversation and it's exactly three minutes. The timing of these two stellar actors is genius; the way they can work all these emotional nuances in right until the beep of the timer. I know it probably took a lot of rehearsal but I also think that with actors of the calibre of Kelsey Grammer and John Mahoney it came naturally. I've also noticed that, in the early seasons of Frasier, John Mahoney's long stage experience comes through, he projects his voice like he's talking to a whole theatre, not just a set and live audience. :)

      its a dark cloudy rainy day here today so I'm on a UA-cam run, and I actually thought about timing it (but only after the timer went off) and then I saw your comment and I'll take your word for it that it was three minutes. Thanks for doing that so I don't have too lol. But yeah, I have to admit that I didn't watch the firet few seasons of Frasier, just like I never watched Cheers when it was on Thursday nights: something I regret doing but never appreciated it when it was around. It was sometime after 9/11 when I watched Frasier (I believe it was on Tuesday nights, but I could be wrong) and then I got into Cheers, and I was really pissed off with myself for never giving 'Cheers' and even 'Frasier' a chance - but thankfully for DVDs (which I'm too lazy to put on, hence why I'm on UA-cam), I can now watch what I missed out on. Sorry for babbling, but I think the weather has made me nostalgic today - it is the perfect kind of day for lazying around, and watching good comedy gold

      Uhm... late reply but... it's actually 2 minutes long, not 3. This video is 4 minutes and 57 seconds long. Their third conversation starts at 1 minute and 27 seconds and ends at 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Meaning their conversation lasted for 2 minutes and 3 seconds. Not 3 minutes.
