The Salieri character in that movie is so relatable... When asked about a "suitable teacher" for the Emporer's niece, after it's been made clear that W. Mozart is the man first in line, he most wryly and shrewdly replies: "My concern, your highness, is to protect your majesty from any 'hint' of favouritism..." Emporer Joe: "mm-hmm.. Well, there it is." Mozart: if his majesty desires my services, why does he not simply appoint me to the position? Count Orsini-Rosenberg: "You're not the ONLY composer in Vienna." Mozart: "No, but I'm the best." C. O-R. : "My dear Mozart; a little humility might suit you better... If you want to be considered for this position, you must submit your stuff, along with your colleagues." Mozart: "Must I?" C.O-R.: "mm-hmm" Mozart; "well, I won't." Fuck yeah! I love that character.
F. Murray Abraham played Salieri so well that we hate him to this day 😂😂. He won an Oscar for the part, Tom Hulce who played Mozart didn't. F. Murray Abraham is a legend. If you met him in the street, you'd probably go: "Damn you Salieri, you killed Mozart!"
The song opens with fear of the Lord, the opening crescendo giving way to an interaction between an angry God and a fearful soul, with the terrible power of God represented by an entire chorus of thundering voices as the lost soul cries out for mercy in fearful soprano. And then the music softens, reflecting the mercy and unforsaking love of Jesus Christ. And then we hear the soprano again, no longer crying out in fear but now singing in humble adoration as the soul is transformed by the grace of God. A chorus of angels join in adoration, culminating in the most sublime moment as the soul ascends to Heaven. Now once again we witness the power of God from the soul's perspective, no longer terrible and fearful but now full of awe and adoration as the soul joins the Father in eternal harmony. Absolutely beautiful.
Fun fact to show and tell: Although the format is familiar, Mozart wrote this specifically for the visit of his father (and sister), who did not approve of his marriage to Constanze. She is appealing to Leopold for mercy, not Jesus. Now that's clever. How does it sound now?

@@DoctorDewgong hmm not sure really. I don't think this composition had liturgical use tbf. Personally I like it, but yeah some compositions (Verdi's Requiem is one I feel) are a bit too grand and more of an exercise in awe of the musical achievement rather than the true purpose. I find Bach and Handel and earlier composers usually the best for this theme tbh.

Back then, all the great composers influenced each other, sampling and riffing from each others' works. There was an example of this in the movie, when Mozart did a variation of Salieri's march after he met the emperor
In this piece I tend to find the solution to the problem of entropy. The solution is returned by feeding it its own medicine and catalyst management is directed by the powers that be. Constant war. For peace and prosperity.

Bach? Yes... Mozart? Doubtful... Beethoven? Never. Mozart and Beethoven seem to be far more popular with people who "just" got into classical music, mostly because those are the only two names they know. I think you are 100% wrong, to be honest with you.
"to pass him over as just being the typical same old"
Who ever does that? Have never heard about that.
I've seen it as well and appreciate your comment
Is it ok to cry a little bit white listening to Mozart work. I feel so peaceful and calm and relax and quiet.
Era un absoluto genio este tipo
Kyrie Eleison
Christe Eleison
Lord have Mercy
Christ have Mercy
Yes. It seems kind of inappropriate to have part of the Mass being sung essentially in the style of opera
@@MidnightIsolde I'm sure it had liturgical use at some point. His requiem, for example, was used at both Napoleon and Chopin's funeral masses
so much beauty
why can't the world be more like this
Gloria in excelsis Deo. Et in terra pax hominibus bonæ voluntatis. Laudamus te; benedicimus te; adoramus te; glorificamus te. Gratias agimus tibi propter magnam gloriam tuam.
Domine Deus, Rex coelestis, Deus Pater omnipotens. Domine Fili unigenite Jesu Christe. Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Filius Patris. Qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Qui tollis peccata mundi, suscipe deprecationem nostram.
Qui sedes ad dextram Patris,
O miserere nobis. Quoniam tu solus Sanctus, tu solus Dominus, tu solus Altissimus, Jesu Christe. Cum Sancto Spiritu in gloria Dei Patris. Amen.
Amen.
what s?
This music healed my soul
Une des plus fabuleuses lignes mélodiques de MOZART , la perfection...
The purity of the saprano's voice is sublime! Simply amazing!
This masterpiece starts in such an extraordinary build up , goosebumps.Mozart getting married at the church

"You told me a great musician could conquer Vienna, with my wife I know I can do it. When I'm rich and famous you will come and life with me papa, we'll be so happy."
As I listen to this piece, I feel as if I died, have gone to the heavens & found eternal peace.
Rommel Abundo One cannot help thinking of heaven with Mozart’s music.
right? i was just thinking at 4:40 mins this is the closest we will get to heaven...
You can clearly tell this has Bach influences
Mozart was such a fanboy of his work.
That being said, it is beautiful in its own right.
Back then, all the great composers influenced each other, sampling and riffing from each others' works. There was an example of this in the movie, when Mozart did a variation of Salieri's march after he met the emperor
A la altura del Requiem. Solo Mozart podría hacer algo así
2:13 Absolutely sublime!
Best performance of this piece. Thanks for posting!
Это Божество ОН Сам того. НЕ ЗНАЕТ. !!!
3:32 this is so beautiful. And it was that great moment in the film if you remember
I recently watched the movie again, and this scene caught me so off guard I started crying. It's truly beautiful ❤️
Greatest music on Earth!
6:05 Hasta la última parte te recuerda tantas obras de Mozart.
Una vos de Ángel “maravilloso
This is my absolute favourite when it comes to Mozart, that an the opening of his Requiem
I am scattered into pieces dear Mozart
One ring to find them all
I wonder if this will now be banned by Pope Francis from being sung at mass because it's not in the vernacular.
when I listen to this sound, I get chills
The music is celestial.
In this piece I tend to find the solution to the problem of entropy. The solution is returned by feeding it its own medicine and catalyst management is directed by the powers that be. Constant war. For peace and prosperity.
صوت ملائكي💕
3:29
Alan Gall Two octave leap!!! 😌
Yeah, Constanze Mozart must have been an awesome soprano.
Thanks man
Could anyone tell me who the soloist is? She sings here the most perfect version of this Mass...never heard any better, neither before her, nor after..
This was breathtaking!!!
Can somebody please tell me who performs "kyrie eleison" in the actual movie? Band and soloist
Thank you kindly
It’s the melodic manifestation of the immense spiritual longing throughout the piece that ushers the transcendence and reveals the holy.
Non sono un'esperta ma mi sembra che l'acuto al minuto 4:40 sia fantastico.
The only person who ever lived who has ever shook my believe in atheism. Sometime i swear I hear God talking. His requiem is astonishing.
Divina Musica💖💖💖💖💖
"... I was staring through the cage of those meticulous ink strokes, at an absolute beauty."
