@mrboulder9714 I actually sorta missed the whole heavier heavy metal wagon from '85-'90 once priest n maiden jumped the shark. Bands like merciful fate and venom opened the doors for king diamond sepultura destruction etc and I was on another tangent. Glad to be listening now. !!!!cheers
Great albums there. Waiting for that debut Deicide to come in the mail as I'm new to them. The Bleeding is in my top for Death Metal albums of all time! Enjoyed this one!
Very nice pick of the lot for your 10/10. I have seven of those on your list. Thank you for sharing the best death metal that's still available. I am looking forward to seeing your alternative 10/10.
Such a great video James. To be honest most people are going to complain if they don't see their favorite album, not sure why they think everyone should like what they like but it has always cracked me up. Keep doing what you are doing. Awesome content, I don't comment as mush as I should but know I always try to watch your videos and these videos are always awesome. Cheers!
Great video dude. Few definitely would be wolverine blues, heartwork, covenant and early obituary. Thanks for.putting me onto a few gems.i haven't Heard👍
Awesome picks for perfect 10 death metal albums, James. No complaints from me. Carcass, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Decapitated, Morbid Angel, Cancer, Pestilence, etc.. All excellent picks overall.
i only own that one Deicide lp , its that good they never came close again imo .11/10 lol .... I bought legion i was so excited and just sold it .... Cancers first 3 lps are all great , the second one is my perfect 10/10 , but they really did crap in their own bath after the third lp . Shame as i thought they were really on to something . oh the 90s really did mess up some great bands great video mr b
I'm busy didn't watch this but Deicide 1990 it's definitely one of my favorites especially when I'm pissed off I throw that on and feel a lot better! 🐐
Hi Mr Boulder, Another interesting video as always, thanks for sharing, and for giving Decapitated a bit of love, they get love but not enough in my opinion…. Hey, here are my 10 - 10/10 Death Metal albums, some standards and some hot takes in there…..in no particular order..... Decapitated - Cancer Culture Entombed - Uprising Carcass - Swansong The Black Dahlia Murder - Everblack Morbid Angel - Alters Of Madness Death - Leprosy Obituary - Frozen In Time Arch Enemy - Anthems Of Rebellion Behemoth - The Apostasy Bolt Thrower - 4th Crusade Always enjoy the videos, listening to your takes and seeing your amazing collection. Take care mate Cheers Colin
I'm glad Testimony of the ancients made the list. It's a timeless masterpiece. Absolute perfection. Even the sleeve is flawless. Here's another albums that made my 10/10 death metal albums Death : All albums to me are 10/10 Necrophagist : Epitaph Atheist : Unquestionable presence Beyond Creation : Earthborn Evolution Bolt Thrower : For victory Morbid Angel : Covenant Disincarnate : Dreams of the carrion kind Cynic : Focus Cattle Decapitation: Terrasite Edge Of Sanity : Purgatory Afterglow and The Spectral Sorrows Carnation : Where death lies Sadist : Tribe The Crown : The burning Gorefest : False Just to name a few 😅
@techdeath3609 Testimony Of The Ancients is an absolute beast of an album. Great list, there's a few there I'm not familiar with. Cheers for watching and leaving your list
Interesting stuff as always James. Necroticism would be on my list too as well as Heartwork. I'd be one who would say Consuming Impulse beats Testimony but not a 10/10. Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness would be on my list. Never been a fan of Deicide or Cannibal Corpse or Nile. Others on my list would be Death - Leprosy, Sepultura - Beneath the Remains, and Arise and Schizophrenia. Obituary - The End Complete and Slowly We Rot, Entombed - Clandestine.
I think Slowly We Rot is a massively overrated album personally, Cause Of Death is much better for me. Clandestine is amazing, I'm definitely with you on that one. Cheers fella
One of my favorite death metal album is Fear Of Tomorrow by ARTILLERY. Their debut album is unfairly categorized as thrash metal but in fact it is a proto-death masterpiece. This album is dark, raw, sinister, the music sounds even quite scary and the cover drawing adds to the horror atmosphere.
Cancer- that artwork put me off checking them out until I started doing videos!. Aye, Deicide is indeed a weapon, but I prefer Legion- one of those "first one I heard" albums. Necroticism is a belter, perfection really. Testimony Of The Ancients is superior to the debut for sure.. I need to get that vinyl. Covenant is a killer record, Morbid Angel were on top of the world then. Yes! The Bleeding is a masterpiece! Do fucking good. The Negation is an absolute beast. Underrated Nile album that.. I always liked it though. Skeletal Remains have done no wrong for me, every album has been stellar.. I need to pick up that Blood Incantation album. Great band. Awesome stuff James!!
Those first 2 Deicide albums are essential. The Bleeding is perfect from start to finish. Blood Incantation's Absolute Elsewhere is a banger. Cheers Dave my friend
Agree on a lot of these being 10/10. Glad to see someone give Sethu a 10/10. A couple of my 10/10 would be Death- Spiritual Healing Necrophobic- The Nocturnal Silence Suffocation- Effigy of the Forgotten Autopsy- Mental Funeral
Good list my Man. So many good albums. Somebody says that Nile/ At the gate of Sethu is their weakest album. So wrong! Nile never release shitty bad albums. Their gatalogue full of good records. 😮😊
Hi James!!! No need to explain why you picked those albums from your collection..... people sometimes don't understand a single thing, lol. Some awesome stuff from your music room, just listen a couple of day ago that Blood Incantation release i was curious and intrigued about so many good comment, sounded good to me, but i need another listen thou..... cheers and be well
I own 5 of these thd other 5 i haven't heard. I certainly like the 5 I have but for me I think death metal albums all have a song or two that pull them down. I love the first Deicide album but even that has me zoning out 3 quarters of the way through. The alternative genre probably has the most i could pick from.
Hi James, I'm positively surprised to see a 10/10 for the Skeletal Remains' second album. How would you rate Devouring Mortality then? It's a 10/10 for me. Thanks. Great video.
I totally agree, "Testimony" is Pestilence´s best album. I would have picked another Morbid Angel but I´m glad you didn´t show "Domination", that album sucks, hahaha... I never realized that the backcover of the Deicide debut looks aweful on the reissue.
Yeah, I don't know why some people like to hate on blood incantation? They say that it's generic death metal? I think it's because they've been able to gain a lot of success in a short amount of time, so it's easy to criticize them and their blended styles of music.
@markgreene1162 The same people who say Blood Incantation are generic are probably the same people who fall over themselves to heap praise on Bolt Thrower and Obituary who have pretty much released the same album over and over again. Cheers
Can’t fault you on any of these albums here boulder you schlagg! The bleeding is without a doubt is their finest album and barnes best vocal performance agreed mate. Top stuff pal 😉
Some great picks here James! I like the debut Cancer album, but I think I just preferred the second one. The debut Deicide is great, Necrotisism is my favourite Carcass album. I've gotta check out that Morbid Angel and Pestilence album. The negation is a fantastic album, awesome pick. I think The bleeding is my least favourite Barnes album, but it's been a while since I heard it so I might have changed my thoughts on it. That Skeletal Remains is awesome, so glad to have it in my collection after looking for it for so long! Nice one 😁🤘🏻
Butchered At Birth is the weakest Barnes era album for me, The Bleeding is far superior. You gotta check out those Morbid Angel and Pestilence albums Josh, both excellent albums. Cheers mate as always 👍
@mrboulder9714 Ah ok that's interesting; Butchered is my favourite haha! But that's fair enough. Yeah, I definitely need to check out those Morbid Angel and Pestilence albums. You're welcome mate 😁🤘🏻
The reason Carcass's debut album sounds like shit is because Earache just stuck 3 or 4 of their demos on a record. I don't know any Carcass fan that doesn't have the debut rock bottom in their ranking.

none of these are a 10/10 for me. especially surprised you picked at the gates of sethu which is considered by the majority of fans their weakest record to date especially production-wise. also from Decapitated I would have chosen Organic Hallucinosis.
It might be the weakest for many people but not for me, and i have no problem with the production on Sethu. If none of these are a 10 for you that's great. It would be a dull world if we all had the same opinions. Cheers for watching
