Big up Fam...I love how you took accountability and have shared these learning experiences with us all, a lot of people wouldn't do that!!......I look forward to continuously watching your development from a good pilot to a great and good pilot...I will fly with you any day..Big up!
Absolutely! No shame in my game. Something we can all learn from. Sometimes you’ll have to go through stuff like this to make you better. Thanks for the comment fam, and the support. Blue skiesss 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Good video. I will be heading to Bowman to take my commercial written test soon, just got my endorsement today. I was down there last fall for my instrument test.
Working on IFR rating out of RYY in my 79 Cherokee Six. I decided not to share our family adventures on YT, but big props to you. Every video I see on IFR procedures have been extremely helpful. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! Love the Cherokee’s. I have documented lots of adventures that the family and I have been on, most don’t make it to the public but I do like sharing a few to show what it’s like. I’m happy it helped. Definitely more to come. Blue skies, my friend.
I trained at JWN and fly out of here much of the time. It can throw folks off that there is no radar for such a busy airport. Well done. HMU next time. That's my Cherokee at 9:20 !
Hey, JB. What is the Air Devil's departure? What elements does that include? I'm from The Ville originally, so I'm familiar with the AD bar and grill on Taylorsville Rd. I expected to see you turn in that direction and was surprised to see you fly the runway heading through the SDF Class C. Just curious. P. S.. I'm not a pilot, but I did take a $5 ride with Cardinal Aviation at Bowman for a magazine article I was writing back in the 70s when intro flights actually cost $5. My dad often played golf at Seneca GC, and in her last years my mom was in a nursing home just across the street from the driver's license testing station. LOL. Fond memories of the area.
What’s up Larry. The Air Devil is just an unpublished departure procedure. ATC gives an assigned heading and tell you to fly at or below 2,500. It’s supposed to keep SDF traffic and Bowman traffic separate. They gave me an assigned head when I called up to tower. In this case it was runway head. My flight plan was taking me that way anyway. I agree, Bowman is a good area. Cool memories. Thanks for sharing.
