Protecting the puppies from getting lain on by momma

One of the reasons why I stay in the puppy room 24/7 the first 2 weeks, is to protect the puppies from getting accidentally squished or stepped by the momma.
Momma doesn’t mean to do this, but she herself is fatigued from the 35 long labor, and thus not always aware of where the puppies are at all times.
So my job is to protect each puppy & move momma if necessarily out of the way to keep this young puppy safe.
I stay in the puppy room for the first 2 weeks, until the puppies are stronger & more mobile.
