Tabla is a Percussion instrument of Persian origin. It’s said Sufi musician Amir Khusrau was a famous musician and he is believed to have invented the Tabla. Khusrau is credited for the invention of the sitar and tabla. He instructed to develop a more melodic percussion instrument that could accompany the new style of music called Khayal.
