- Hello everyone! How are you all this week? I'm back with another pregnancy update today. I am now 22 weeks pregnant - is it me or is time flying now? I touch on my symptoms, my latest consultant appointment and the fact that baby boy now has a name! Exciting! WHO AM I?
I'm Charlotte.
I'm 28, love carbs, rubbish 90's music, Prosecco and baths without finding a bath toy stuck under my bum.
I have a little boy called Bill (born June 2012) and a little girl called Daisy (born April 2016).
I am, very recently, a full-time vlogger and blogger (the stuff dreams are made of), but I am also a trained journalist, former magazine editor, and content lead.
I'm also part of Channel Mum - which is really worth checking out if you're a mama like me and want to find videos to make you laugh, cry, nod, or get advice. / channelmum
I was a single mum, just me and Bill. But then I had a bit of a fairytale moment when I met Mark (he's a bit lovely) and things are better than I could have hoped for now. Daisy was born with Stickler Syndrome, and a cleft palate like me. Her start has been rocky but she'll be fine. She's got a family who adore her after all.
I know that all mums are different in their own way, but I hope you enjoy seeing snippets of my life, all the same.

I just had my anatomy scan yesterday (19 weeks and 3 days now) and the reassurance that baby is looking perfect is amazing. Especially when you and your significant other have quite a bit of things that could be passed on. I'm so happy for you! :)
Also, I have major respect for waiting to reveal. I could not hold it in. I was way too excited when we got the second "It's a girl" that I told everyone her name the moment I arrived home, which is Iris.

Glad things are going well for you and you're getting the support you need. Yes I would love to hear more about hypnobirthing it sounds very calming. Loved watching SJs video for you and the reseach she did, liked lots of the names and can't wait to hear what you have chosen. I'm pregnant with our first and we're really struggling on the boys names!! I've been so enjoying watching your pregnancy vlogs with Daisy and this new little boy, it's lovely to hear what's going on with other mums who are pregnant. Yes I really do hope for you that you get that wonderful aftermath and you can hold and feed your little one, all seems positive so far. I'm due the end of march, feeling pretty good and trying to enjoy every moment. Will start looking into hypnobirthing as everybody seems to only have good things to say. As for the names we'll just have to keep searching, we get until six weeks after birth right 😂 take care xx
Lovely video Charlotte and you are positively aglow! We are 20+1 with a baby boy and after a lot of back and forth we settled on the name Oscar. I also love classic/literary names but didn't want anything too OTT. Have a good week!

Another grate video mate thanks again we turned 22 weeks on Friday cant wait to meet her. We have just felt her kick properly fir the first time tonight wow what an experience. Looking forward to watching week 23 next week

I'd love to hear more about your hypnobirthing experience. Specifically about how you approached it without taking a class. I am also in a position where I don't think I can justify the expense but have been reading up on it.

oh I wish I could give you a huge hug; sometimes it helps to know you aren't alone in birth being frightening.. I've had three, and each was uniquely challenging.. first was a preemie, third didn't survive, so our middle born was our only one we could hold immediately.. you are a strong momma, and you're perfectly entitled each and every emotion💝 prayers that you get a beautiful healthy delivery!

I totally understand your anxiety about a micro managed birth. My birth ended up as an induction due to placental issues and I was terrified about the pitocin, the drip, the continuous monitoring, having to have my waters broken - all things that I hadn't wanted in my birth "plan" but I still managed to stay mobile the whole labour, got through without pain medication by using my labour strategies and lots of support from hubby and a tens machine and hot water bottle and even with baby back to back, I felt really in control the whole time. When I think about it now I feel like it was a really beautiful experience even though all the interventions wasn't what I had originally hoped for. It taught me to feel less anxious about birth in general - and even though my preference would still be for a birth that is intervention free, I no longer carry the intense fear about it. I think hypnobirthing is totally doable in all kinds of contexts and I hope, hope, hope that you get the birth you hope for, but I also hope you still feel positive about giving it a good go, even if plans change and monitoring etc is required. I know that my natural birth strategies functioned perfectly well even with the added complexity of an induction and back-to-back labour and I'm so thankful I still gave it a go even though I was super anxious about coping with the interventions. Birth is so amazing in all its many forms! I am in constant awe of how women get through it, each in their own way!

Oh my goodness off to watch her and follow for baby names we can't agree on names at all. I always have to have names early on. Control freak hahaha. You look so beautiful. It's gone so fast can't believe not long you get another beautiful bundle of joy. Hope we get to have playdates with them. Love the outfit too glam mommy alert. They have been asking if I want a home birth I can't decide. Nervous it would scare my littlest. Lovely prego update babes.

I hope it's Francis on the birth certificate then Frankie for short, that would be cute! Frank on it's own just sounds quite sharp next to Bill & Daisy which are quite soft names imo. Though any of SJ's names would be nice :) Xx
I had the whooping cough injection this monday & thankfully i had no side effects even though the nurse said i would almost defintely have side effects this time due to having it last year too when i was pregnant with my son X
I would love to hear more about hypnobirthing experiences. I have bought the same book and MP3 tracks, although I have to admit so far I have been a bit rubbish at practising daily, and with how much i am supposed to do daily.
I was same with my second but it ok to been worried but end of dsy then to help u and advice what best 4 u and breafully baby bly i can't wait

I found them SO HELPFUL! You have to do a lot of practise yourself. But it’s so worth it. I managed Daisy and Stan’s births without pain relief. xx

We were the same with our first, I wouldn't even tell the midwife what our name was incase our baby boy turned out to be a girl and someone stole our name! Yep basically hormonal crazy logic lol, saying that we aren't telling anyone the name of our second baby for the same reason!!! xx
