Sometimes gotta do what ya gotta do, I remember seeing my dad change a starter in a snowstorm on the street with a lighter for light, and a ratchet, while I was in the car I was like 6. That made want to work on cars that day.
All my respect to you guys! Great when you just can get things done no matter what is going on around. Thanks for you feedback brotha!
What a cool memory from your dad
This dude fit it in bad weather conditions. Makes me wanna get out an do mine
Right on brotha! Little bit a snow and cold doesn't scare me) When you know temperature could drop down to -25 C. Otherwise you have another 6 months to wait for a warm weather. Thanks foe watching. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
Did u do a video on the brakes
@@cmcdadedetails5791 No, my brakes are still okay. Later on, I will make one! Thanks for watching brotha!
Thanx! I could not find the front sway bar on my Xterra, turns out it was removed by previous owner, I suspect due to some other offroad suspension upgrades that they also did.
Sounds good I'm glad it helped you out. I will recommend to install sway bar as well.
@@PistonShack Some people are saying you don't need it if the suspension is heavily upgraded, it's set up for off road too and the sway bar is not liked for offroad driving. Some people take them on and off according to what kind of driving they are doing. For whatever reason, they left the back swaybar on though, maybe because that area was not as upgraded? Everything on this truck has been done in a smart way from what I can tell but I am not sure on this one!
@@OnceUponaTimeline If you drive only off road or staying out of the road more than 50% of the time. You probably don't need it.
you just saved me from Nissan's quote of 255$ thank you so much! legit 255 bucks to replace a 14$ part like what
Awesome, Liam! I am glad it helped you out!
NEver take your vehicle to the dealer unless you wan to be ripped off
Excellent vid 🍻
You're so welcome brotha!
Thank you
You're so welcome Craig!
You installed the sway bar mount bushings the wrong way, the flat side (where the split is) faces the back of the vehicle, not up.
I thought I seen that too
Thank you for this video. :)
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you sir
All the best! You are so welcome Tomas!
What kind/type/power rating is your impact driver? I was under the impression that to really begin undertaking these kinds of repairs on my X, I’d have to have an air impact driver so this was a relief to see….thanks for the vid!
My Ridgid 1/2 impact delivers 450 ft./lbs. of torque according to the specs. It works great for me every time. I love it.
How did you like your ky gas shock? Did you notice a big improvement? I had a 160k on original shocks and they were still in pretty good shape so I didn't notice a big improvement
Honestly, I didn't notice any difference.
Good video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
@@PistonShack 😎
Great video!
Where did you get the torque specs? I need the torque specs for all the steering and suspension components. Any help?
Hey Paulo. I have Nissan Xterra Shop Repair Manual. Send me the list of components torque specs you need.
@@PistonShack Just curious, is it possible to buy that manual somewhere?
I basically need the torque specs on every single part, bolt and nut from the whole steering and suspension components since I'm slowly rebuilding the whole suspension on my 2000 Xterra. Any help is appreciate it.
@@paulocrxterra9138 I am not sure. Try Google it, you might find some free and paid sources.
@10:33 what was that sound I heard ? Sounded like a exhaling noise.
I listened carefully) That was me tried to get that shock fit in!
May you share with us moog frame bushing part no
Hey Marcin. I think, I used Moog K90024 front sway bar frame bushings.
@@PistonShack thx m8
@@Mavericco69 You're so welcome Marcin!
How did those moogs hold up? I'm super suspicious as they are only $4 each on rockauto!! I bought a set of clearance quicksteer front sway bar links and they literally snapped in 2 months... can't complain though, they were ultra cheap as well!
They last me just over 20K km - it wasn't that bad, considering I drive quite a bit on rough roads.
close to 150k on stock steering and suspension. it is time. to battle seized bolts.
Hi Kevin, Sounds like could be some fan, Specially if your Xterra from the Rust Belt. Thanks for watching!
How would I know if the sway bar needs replacing?
If sway bar has excessive wear at the bushing brackets or any deformations that's time to put new one.
I feel cold just watching this video
Only 2 washer by shock
That shock really wasn't doing its job was it? LOL
Hi Bruce, You right, those shocks were wasted completely) Runs like brand new again!
