Excellent compilation. Awesome work. I was there along with my camera & thousands of other Christchurch people to welcome SOFIA back for another winter mission after a 2 year absence due Covid. NASA has sent the SP here for winter night time reconnaissance since 2013 & over the years the aircraft & crews have become fond visitors & friends for Christchurch folk. Sadly, this is SOFIA's last mission to Christchurch as NASA is decommissioning the aircraft later this year. Says a lot that the US government cannot increase NASA's budget by USD$80 million/year to do more scientific studies, yet, in 2021, the US government spent USD$801 billion, yes, billion, on the military! Don't worry SOFIA, we Christchurch folk will be out in numbers to bid you farewell one last time when your mission is over in a few weeks. Hopefully, the SP will do a farewell fly past over the city & someone will get amazing footage for you to put into one of your videos. Keep up the great work.

Thanks about your comment about SOFIA. I had the chance to visit the plane three years ago in Stuttgart. It is quite impressive how they manage to keep the telescope calm enough for the pictures during the flight with the plane's flap open, and to fly in such a way that the pictures are not blurred!
Yes, it is a pity that these are the last flights of SOFIA and that the mission will be discontinued. The reasons are probably that the James Webb space telescope can take better images.
