@@Spironic We have completely different takes. I was actually concerned that Lily seemed genuinely upset multiple times during the podcast that Toast was misrepresenting her. I also thought when she said that he accepted he couldn't change her that they have had offline conversations about things and that he realizes he has issues. You know how she kept saying things like we're REALLY going to go there during the podcast? Toast definitely likes to push the limits. I was also surprised how much he talked about drugs.
@@EileenChow2007as someone who tunes into toast streams he rarely talks about drugs. He and lily have mixed viewpoints on the world and I’m sure they have had talks about that behind cameras.
Toast is definitely a control freak, also naturally manipulative, a natural guilt tripper. This podcast was incredibly painful but also I found it hilarious and very raw and real and somehow endearing. The awkward silences, the jokes about heavy topics out of fear of actually opening up about them, the jokey toxicity, Toast's clear desire to do therapy but afraid of the stigma and probing for support from Lily as in "can we do it together?". It's amazing, first time I see them, love them both even though they both have so many issues, specially Toast.
therapist lily: does it hurt you when i crumple your knee patient toast: yes, ive told you this before... therapist lily: have you considered like try stop being a bitch about it and man up?" patient toast: i activate sexist trap card 😂
I feel like too many people view happiness as a sort of "state" that they can achieve, when in reality we should be thinking of it as an emotion. It comes and goes.
Issues in relationships segment: at this point, if you make a request which is repeatedly being “forgotten” you must realize that Bob just doesn’t give af about your request. While you can continue making a request, Bob can also continue denying or forgetting about a request. You can’t change Bob but you can change whether or not you’re around Bob.
Seeing lily now vs before OTV is a wild difference. Looks like she's doing so much better on a personal level and has gained a ton of confidence from the outside looking in. Good for her :)
The biggest lesson i ever learned from my therapist is you cant make anyone feel or do anything. No matter how much we would like to, we dont have any control over anyone else's emotions.
Such a soulful episode. Love having conversations like this one with my close friends. It was a very pleasant experience seeing Toast and Lily discuss these topics.
Love this episode of the podcast. It was understated but the topics resonated with me and I sat through the entire hour all focused? Lily and Toast have a very fascinating dynamic and it kind of warmed my heart to see them talk more about personal ideologies and feelings.
as a parasocial viewer - I have noticed Toast doing a lot more edibles in recent year (or atleast becoming a LOT more vocal) IIRC I think every stream of group hangouts for a couple weeks involved them talking about getting edibles etc. and that WILL effect short term memory lost, this is confirmed. it'll have more damaging effects on you if you were younger/brain not fully formed, but it still lowers your memory regardless, so you can become slower etc. and these effects are VERY apparent if you take em constantly/daily. I've noticed toasts being slower a bit BEFORE concussion so i assume its the edibles also if you don't challenge yourself mentally your brain won't be as quick, its a muscle after all. in previous years you were constantly playing tactical games and over thinking, even with amongus, so that could've kept your brain sharper, but since not playing heavy tactical games + lots of edibles + concussions it's clear your brain wont be as strong as it is. I find shrooms to be a lot better for daily use (microdosing) as I get a similar strong high as I do with edibles but my day-to-day functions don't slow me down as much as when I constantly use edibles/weed
Hey editors, i hope you notice this but I noticed a weird reverberating, vibrating noise, seems to coincide with lily's vigorous arm motions, might be due to the mic not standing leveled, I can see that the mic stand is very close to the table edge and is wobbling. happens a lot during the 20-23 minute mark edit: ohhhhhhh i seeeeeee I remember now in a previous episode they mentioned being told not to bang on the tables and prior to this episode it was getting editted out
Middle of the vid. Don't forget Toast, that's YOUR view of a their perfect self. Their values of perfection etc dont necessarily align with yours. And that doesn't necessirily mean either is wrong or right. It just is.
I love them discussing mature themes like happiness and depression and internet culture. It reminds the audience that these guys are real people, not just actors on stream doing goofy games and playing video games. Edit: I think Lily is wrong. A lot of millennials just are not super invested in having children and care more about living their lives and working their careers. I think not many streamers will have children...
38:58 loved toast's follow up rebuttals. my mom raised two kids on her own, first at 17 and second at 22. to support us she took a night hostess bar job. she'd come back home 6 early mornings a week drunk and bitter. sometimes she was calm but wicked, most of the time she was loud and violent. over 4 years since i've cut all contact and i still wake up between 3am and 6am like clockwork gasping and my heart pounding.
happiness is just silence, you feel it when your mind gets quiet because is too busy working on understanding the outside environment, that's why traveling brings happiness, or going into a concert, or your child born... at that moment, nothing else matters, there's no past or future in your mind. its all internal
I had a co-worker kicked me in the back of my knee while I was on shift after standing for 8 hours, and I fell to the floor instantly. But had to get back up to do my job. I never talked to them ever again.
Poki is still in OTV, every time Lily gives a reasonable empathetic alternative or route I replay Poki's Lily impression in my head "I see both sides" XD
Okay, totally random. I'm at 24:50 in the podcast, and why tf are Toast's hands so majestic. Like literally more smooth than a new born baby's butt. Im not even kidding either 😭
The thing that lily does to toast about the knee thing is a common shenanigans amongst friends and siblings here in the Philippines... They sneak behind you then do it. Sometimes they use their hand and mimic a dog biting the back of your knee. It's a good practice to keep your guards up...
I think happiness is when you are full of joy and in the moment you forget about your worrys. Social media is robbing our happiness im tellin ya all the comparison and the way people present themselves even if they dont even have that perfect life you feel like they do and you feel like what makes you happy isnt worth it and then you good down a path of comparison and self hatred
I know exactly what Lily is talking about regarding the knee thing. We did this all the time in school because it's hilarious to see someone fall from basically touching the back of someone's knee inside with your own knee to make them fall.

Toast and Lily podcast with a therapist would be peak content.
That is genuinely a great idea

I feel bad for people who take their banter seriously lmao this is absolute comedy gold
Lily is quite the therapist. Toast would be a tiger mom.
Lily has potential to study it, toast has money but no direction.

This episode actually hits me. I enjoy these kind of conversations. They're meaningful and shows how people interpret things differently.
I get instantly happy seeing either of these 2 on an episode. Seeing both of them made me giddy like a kid.

there is no better duo than toast and lily.. what a great friendship..
This whole podcast felt like what i'd envision my deep talks with my friends would be like, just random scenarios/questions and we'd talk for hours.
Love the dynamic between Lily and Toast. They’re like brother and sister
I love the Toast + Lily banter. Can't get enough of it.
I love how toast is always consistent, truthful and cares enough to remember what his friends say to him.

Toast being honest and talking about his feelings is fun 😂
Honestly my favorite OTV pair interaction, but I do think the topics on this podcast were particularly good and relatable as well.
