You put a fair contract on the table for Purdy and do not worry he does not take it, I doubt he would be much better than Carr on a bad team, he probably will be available without bonus money in 2 years. And if he leaves it is your chance to trade the stars and it's a good time to start again, Shanahan is quite capable of going 4-13 without the right guys and take another shot at a QB, or Purdy comes back after the rebuild in 2 or 3 years.

I think this an overreaction to a down year. EVERY TEAM has a rough, "Super Bowl Hangover" year after appearing in one, win or lose. The only teams immune to that have been the dynasty teams. Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, etc. The Niners will have some roster changes next year, but they will be reinvigorated.
Like I said, if the 9ers were smart (and believe me, they're NOT) they would have blown it up this off-season and started their rebuild. Instead they loaded themselves up with a bunch of bad contracts with players who are past their primes, and it's only going to make the rebuild that much harder. They should have been trading for picks and rebuilding in the draft and getting SOME value out of your aging stars while you can. Put your money in a good QB (not Purdy), the offensive and defensive lines, one or two wide receivers, and in your corners. The rest you just churn players in and out and replace them through the draft. AND, you can't have divas in the locker room. Get all of those guys OUT. Don't put money into running backs, don't put money into linebackers, don't put money into fullbacks, etc. But, the 9ers are stupid, so I expect that they'll try to run it back one more time. I think this an overreaction to a down year. EVERY TEAM has a rough, "Super Bowl Hangover" year after appearing in one, win or lose. The only teams immune to that have been the dynasty teams. Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, etc. The Niners will have some roster changes next year, but they will be reinvigorated.

Like I said, if the 9ers were smart (and believe me, they're NOT) they would have blown it up this off-season and started their rebuild. Instead they loaded themselves up with a bunch of bad contracts with players who are past their primes, and it's only going to make the rebuild that much harder. They should have been trading for picks and rebuilding in the draft and getting SOME value out of your aging stars while you can. Put your money in a good QB (not Purdy), the offensive and defensive lines, one or two wide receivers, and in your corners. The rest you just churn players in and out and replace them through the draft. AND, you can't have divas in the locker room. Get all of those guys OUT. Don't put money into running backs, don't put money into linebackers, don't put money into fullbacks, etc. But, the 9ers are stupid, so I expect that they'll try to run it back one more time. (Look at how well that's worked out for New Orleans. Just sayin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
