I found myself doing less even though I had more home time. I’m retired and am 76yrs old. I used to do a lot of crafting but after becoming widowed had no one to share them with. The other day I was frustrated with something that I was crocheting because though I made it before could not seem to read the pattern right. I needed something to bring more joy into my life. I remembered how much I enjoyed crafting though my sons were not into receiving them, I thought I will just give them away and if it’s something my family isn’t interested in, maybe it would bring happiness to Facebook friends. So here I am after a fun time at the dollar tree. Having fun with doing something I can do. Thank you for your beautiful work and fresh ideas.
Miss. Judy you should show your work on you tube. If you have a smartphone you or someone can film it. Plus there are awesome communities on Facebook. I'm not a facebook fan, but I do belong to a couple crafting communities. One is Maymay made it and so can I. Check it out. I would love to see your work. I imagine how lost you were to lose your hubby. I bet he would want you to find Joy again! We know life is short. I hope you keep taking steps to start enjoying things. I've been with mine 35 years. Happiest of New Years to you friend! 💜 From Oregon.**I see now you know about facebook missed it before. You could totally bless someone with the beauty you create. (I have 2 sons myself)
I got married at 17 yrs old and weve been married 40yrs this past December. We have 4 grown children and 12 grandchildren so hang in there. It's worth it in the long run!!! Happy crafting
Hi Katelyn, I really enjoy your videos. The Love sign turned out so nice! Yes, in the beginning I was into crafting, but I was also in denial to how long I thought this would last! Now, reality is hitting...my grandson went back to preschool last Monday, by this Friday 4 children and 8 teachers are now positive with Corona!! And tonight (last night) MY GRANDSON started with the fever and same symptoms. He will be getting tested tomorrow. I do not believe we are through the woods on this Corona pandemic yet! I have not been able to sleep tonight, I just keep praying for the children and my grandson. Now I am laying here watching your video. Take care and please everyone be careful and stay safe!! God Bless
Love the Love sign with the frames and the Mason jar sign with the flowers. I love the color flowers you used. I like that they can be changed out. Everything is beautiful and so are you. I feel your living spirit really come through in your videos. Have a great weekend with your family. Happy early Anniversary. I was married before for 45 years. I've remarried and coming up on 3 years. Love is grand, celebrate your time together in your faith and joy of home, church and family. You only go around once in life so celebrate it. I'm 79 and my husband is 83. I'm in love with love.
Ok 1st, 10yrs, CONGRATS!!! (Yeah, I'm a little late.) My hubby & I, WOW!!! December 28th makes 29yrs!!! I was 21yrs old. & We have 2 (now adult) sons. Trust me, when I say "they DON'T stay littlevery long!" So, take LOTS of pics, make LOTS of memories, & give them ALL of your love. They'll return it in abundance!
LOVE chalk paint, too, but use whatever I have in the color I need. OMGOSH! I love all of these projects!!! So very farmhouse!!! I recuperated from surgery during the quarantine, so I didn’t have the energy to do much of anything! I LOVE giving and GETTING homemade gifts! I’ve been using peel and stick wood-look contact paper...looks amazing!! I was married when I was 19...47+ years later we are still married! 3 kids, 8 grandkids...life is wonderful!!
Katelyn, please don't loose your inspiration. I've been sick and out of work now since the middle of November. In and out of the hospital 8 times and 3 surgery's. Hopefully now I'm on the up and up. I've just got to gain my wait back. When I got sick in November I was 180 lbs, I now weight 102. So I've got to gain some back in order to go back to work. If it were not for that I would never have been led to find you. I get sooo inspired watching you on UA-cam! Your one of the best out here. I don't know if you realize how you have lifted my spirts and make me want to make something's for my house when I can get out of bed and work on something's again. Please take care during this virus, as I hope everyone will and keep on making your craft's. And by the way, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Many Thanks, Scott.
Love you girl friend. I have been with my husband for 31year’s we have 5 beautiful children. I am having my 32 anniversary February 4 can’t believe 32 year’s and I love him so much. I would be lost with out him. I’m going to make the last diy you did for are anniversary coming up thank you for that beautiful idea Kaitlyn you rock. And I love your little girls every time I see them in your videos it just melts my heart I miss my girls being that little.❤️
The 4 piece HOME blocks are pretty cute. It would be cool to make little seasonal plaques (christmas tree, heart, leaf, etc) to swap out for the flowers throughout the year, and as the blocks are hollow you could keep the spares inside the little squares off season. 😁
I use both. I laugh sometimes because if Waverly quit making white chalk paint there would be no UA-cam diy channels. 😊 It seems to be everyone's favorite color.
I have stalked my Dollar Trees (one 30 mins away the other a hour away) for the LOVE, HOME, and FAMILY words to the point I am about embarrassed to go in. Never fear though, I ALWAYS find something. My craft stash is growing and growing and growing so Dollar Tree is benefiting by failure to find them. I'll probably do a cartwheel and starting singing in the aisle when I do finally have success and find them.
During the quarantine I didn’t have the heart to craft. My daughter who is a nurse got the COVID virus and was very sick for almost three weeks. She is a nurse and caught it at work. She is much better now and I want to start crafting.
I actually thought you were around 17 years old when I first came across your videos , which I love so much. So once you mentioned having 3 little girls I was like NO WAY , lol.. You are a true inspiration and explain your techniques so well. I have bought supplies mainly from dollar tree to try making some of your projects.. Thank you sweet Katelyn
Knowing someone took time out just to make something for me , makes me feel so special, and means more To me than anything, the love we put into our krafts. I’d rather have something home made, as you make that Special gift, your whole mind is thinking about that person, at that time., you are such a sweet person, I know That family feels so lucky to have you as part of there family. 👍👍👍💕💕😃😃Happy Holidays 🎄🎄🎄😢👍
My favourite craft project was the Home sign, with the rub on wreath. I have been keeping busy crafting with dollar store items, and Micheal’s and Walmart for paint, it helps my Mind, Body and Soul to craft during this time of being home and Social distancing. I do enjoy getting out in nature as well, to balance out staying indoors crafting. 😊. Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe.
I also went crazy during quarantine. I chalk painted and weathered EVERYTHING!! Dining room table and chairs, desk, sofa table, storage hutch, three chairs to be used with high chairs some knick knacks and a very old stool my great grandpa made.
I did a bit of both some days I crafted for hours and some days I focused on the house or garden , I found this type of video very inspiring and have kept me focused when it gets a bit much being stuck at home , so I’m very grateful to all the crafting ladies like you that post these videos because it really does change your focus to something better , thank you katelyn so much ♥️🌹
I got married at 19, as well, and we are going to celebrate our 25th anniversary in January. Nothing wrong with getting married young, if you find the right person. At 29, I had 4 kids (actually I was 27 when #4 was born) and had twins as a surrogate for someone else between #3 & #4. I lived a whole lifetime in my 20s. 😂 No regrets. 🥰🤗🥳
I am alway giving home made goodies away to friends and family and they appreciate them. I love watching your makes please keep them coming love from the U.K. xxx
I’ve gone DIY crazy during quarantine. We just moved the week before Christmas, and with working, unpacking and organizing, there wasn’t really time to decorate until we were quarantined. I love the signs you did in this video, but I especially loved that you didn’t use a label maker (or whatever they’re called). If I was making money by crafting (I’d love that so much) I would probably invest in one, but it helps and encourages me to see you making beautiful crafts without using a machine.
All very well done. The jar is really pretty, but I think it needed the same ribbon around the top so that it doesn't look like it's missing something. I really love the cotton ball wreath. It's very nice !
I started crafting again during our Covid lockdown. Unfortunately I had to rush to get a few items done as gifts by Christmas, since I did contract a mild case of Covid. But now after several trips to the Dollar Tree I need to start crafting again for my own home. I enjoyed all your projects today .Thank you.💜
You are my lil soul sister and so happy i found you. You are the cutest!!! Now i can finally use all the craft crap i have in tubs and tubs in my over crowded craft room. Obsessed with your videos now. 😄
Wow! You have just blown me away with all these cute, cute, cute diy's. I love all of them. You do not look 29. Your face is so young looking. You'll really like that the older you get.
Katelyn, these diy's are so cute. I like the color of the flowers in the Mason jar - they look like tea-stained paper flowers. Also, if you keep a jar of water nearby as you craft - just put your brushes in it and clean when you're done. The water will dilute most, if not all, of the paint off the bristles. Also, I will take a brush out of the water, wipe it dry with a paper towel and use it for other colors. Then there aren't so many brushes to clean when you're done crafting. Hope this helps.
Quarantine - I found you and lots of fun crafts on UA-cam that are inexpensive. I am totally inspired by you and love listening to your sweet voice and seeing your OH-SO-CREATIVE DIY crafts. I am having so much fun. I have a real job working from home but keep getting distracted with these fun videos. I have been finishing home remodeling projects AND crafts. I didn't love quarantine at first but I love it now!
I love that love sign/frame!!!! I just started watching sooooooooooo many videos for inspiration and I love the farmhouse decor!! You have inspired so many for me. I just recently woke up one morning and decided to paint my living room!!! It went from a light coffee color with a dark brown wall for accent to a deep gray blue. The accent wall isn't quite finished yet (it will be a pallet board wall). I painted all of my frames in farm house, chippy grays, blues and whites (made all of my own chalk paint too!!) I used pallet boards that I white washed with homemade white chalk paint and used L brackets to attach to the wall. There are 2 on each of the 3 walls in 2 different levels. Added some diy'd projects and some knick knacks.....I am so in love with the way it turned out!!!!! Thanks so much for the inspiration to think outside the box and go for it!!!!!!
Oh wow, that sounds so pretty!! I love painting with diff colors and getting inspired to makeover a space!! Set back and enjoy all of your hard work! 😍😍😍
I’m to crafting and so enjoy your detailed descriptions❤️. I’m a retired florist, but I don’t have your creativity, how to use stuff from the Dollar Tree!! Thanks for all you do😊❤️‼️
It was so fun watching these again. I got really sad when the quarintine started, I had just retired. But about a month ago I really started crafting again. Thank you for doing this video. I love your DIYs. TFS!
Rosie Hedger I retired this spring, too, after 37 years in education. It broke my heart I didn’t get to tell my students goodbye so I was pretty down when this all hit. Doing better now because I am busy doing more home projects and crafting. I hope you are, too.
I put my brushes in sealed zipper bags while I'm still in the midst of a project. Even my foam ones. I've recently seen a long wide split in a pool noodle attached to a dish pain. It had sliced in it and the brushes hung down over their water cleaning surfaces. Children can use the slits to dry their own brushes after rinsing them or put one in use in a zipper baggies, brush side down and store it on the pool noodle. My children each had a color growing up. The color in paint, round sticker, and ink silently spoke to them. I dudnt have to ask who. Ever. They each need a little DT dish pan and craft carry cubbie. Thank for sharing all your ideas. I watch on my TV via Roku so I dont comment as often, but I'm here watching you. Someday I'll get behind a camera, when I figure out which one. I need frugal UA-cam set up ideas. ~Heidi Cali girl transplant to South Carolina
I love watching your videos. I would not have guessed you are 29. My anniversary is this month as well. We will celebrate 29 years 😊. I have still been working during the quarantine time at home, so I didn't have a lot of extra time to do things. I have been trying to clean out and organize and do a few crafts. Thank you so much for sharing.
Quarantine allowed me to start crafting again.Crafting has always been one of my loves but I got busy with my little loves and hubby the last 16 years and was so excited to watch your videos and they inspired me to jump back in
Loved all these inspiring crafts. Thank you for sharing your ideas and talent. You are a true artist who can draw such realistic flowers, plants, leaves, etc. I wish I could do that and make it look half as good as yours. The tulips were beautiful.
I love your channel!! Your just so down to earth and so creative! I just recently started crafting again, I used to craft and see with my mom, she passed away a couple off years ago😭 I miss her so much!! I think though when I’m crafting she’s here with me🥰 she was the most talented person I’ve ever known she could take a box of scraps and make the most beautiful dress, outfit or whatever!! She was maxing!! I hope eventually to be half the seamstress she was!! I really enjoyed this top 10!!! I loved that you used those small arrows for houses!! I picked up a few of those the other day for the exact same reason!! I’m so glad I seen this video before doing mine thou bc I never would have thought about those blocks for a roof😍 I got them because you cannot find those little wood houses everyone’s looking for😂 I was going to use craft sticks to make the sides and dupe them😂😂😂 Thank you for sharing your talent!! Your inspiring!! Btw side note my oldest daughter is my rainbow baby, she’s 31 yrs old now 🥰 her name is Kaitlyn (at the time I named her no one had ever heard of that name😂) you remind me of her she’s blonde with green eyes😊 your a doll!! Have a blessed day!!
We actually have enjoyed the quarantine. Got so many home projects done and got my fall, halloween and Christmas decor started. Cant wait for July 4th to be over and let's get on to fall. I've made and hand painted all of my garden signs for the upcoming seasons. Now working on wreaths.😊
All of these are so nice. Always enjoy watching you make things. Love watching you paint and use the markers to write words and figures. I love the way you made the cotton bawls and then completed that picture. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing and take care.
So much for a great DIY project today thank you so much for sharing how to put this together and get an awesome job on it. Hugs and kisses from grandma
I always look so forward to your videos. I get tons of ideas. You are so talented girl. I love to watch you freehand. I know you say you get nervous, but you always do a great job!!!
Quarentine... That's when I found you! Lol! Every morning I'd sit with my coffee and hot down what you were doing. One day I looked up and realized I had been sitting there for 2.5 hrs. Yikes! You and a few others gave me so joy in a world that has absolutely gone crazy!!! Have a blessed day. ❤️
Really, really like the beads and your hand-drawn flowers. Like how you are using the metal words that were gifted to you. I wouldn’t have thought to paint the love sign either. Episode after episode, I’m amazed with your creativity.
We painted the exterior of the house, added a window box, got beautiful double front doors installed. Crafting as far as trying to save money and painting out door cushions. But my yard looks great. The house not so much!
I love your crafting style. It’s very relatable. Congrats on your 10 year anniversary. March of 2021 will be our 40 year anniversary. Keep the crafting coming!!!
Awesome., never knew how many different tools are available for working on your arts and crafts. I love it. Thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to your next video and in between have a wonderful day.
The large love sign with picture frames is gorgeous! And I feel the same way, I thought staying home I was going to get so much done but my 3 year old boy and 14 year old girl were such a handful and I got in a slump and didn’t get much done at all between the kids and the day to day. I get more done when I’m working a full time job! How is that?! Lol
Everything is adorable,I love it all, fabulous ideas, nice to have such a beautiful young creative mind, mine is about wore out, I love to see what comes up next, so exciting, to see what you are doing next. 👍👍👍💕💕😃😃😃🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I just started crafting with dollar tree products. I love all the craft ladies I have found but Katelyn is my favorite. She has great ideas more my style. She is very creative. Thanks for your videos Katelyn.
I just love your home sweet home with the cotton and that beautiful bow you did so good thank you for the share I'm most definitely going to save this one
Hi Katelyn, I am new to Video DIY, started when Covid began, you are the first person I watched. I have been inspired by all you craft, love them, and have recreated a lot of your ideas Thank you so much you and now some others, have saved my sanity ;)

Happy early anniversary. I got married when I was 23 in May of 2013. We just celebrated 7 years. I couldn't believe it when you put down 2010 lol.
Love these ideas! The LOVE sign with the blocks was my favorite! 😉
LOVE your channel newly subd! Found it from Katelyn's comments and loved your Thrifty" it caught my eye 😜😘

During quarantine I lost motivation until I found your UA-cam channel. Thank You!
The candle and star piece looks more Christmasy than patriotic to me. I would love to have two of those to hand somewhere for Christmas.
Suggestion for the jar w/flower.....brush/distress the center of the flowers with a bit of light pink. Loved each one of your projects.
I got married at 19, as well, and we are going to celebrate our 25th anniversary in January. Nothing wrong with getting married young, if you find the right person. How beautiful you design these crafts from the dollar store.. I am totally blown away by your work.. Katelyn you are amazing and so are your crafts!!
Chalk paint ALL day EVERY day 💜 Dries fast and coverage is great! Perfect paint for farmhouse look....easy to distress it!
Wow yess the " love" sign came out
So nice.. easily over 20$ at any other store. Well done!
The love sign would be pretty with your pink rose like flowers
I 💖 how you used color on the blessed vase & off-white flowers. Instead of just white stuff all the time 😊. 💖 Your videos!! Ty
Wow! You have just blown me away with all these cute, cute, cute diy's. I love all of them. You do not look 29. Your face is so young looking. You'll really like that the older you get.
Aw, thank you!! I'm happy you like them! 😍❤️
I love all your DIY’s but especially the little house shapes. You have a very pleasing voice and you explain everything so well.

I love the yellow flowers on the turquoise jar, white would have been too bland. Pink flowers would have been pretty also. 😊

Rosie Hedger I retired this spring, too, after 37 years in education. It broke my heart I didn’t get to tell my students goodbye so I was pretty down when this all hit. Doing better now because I am busy doing more home projects and crafting. I hope you are, too.
Luv it
I thought the wood circle was a pizza and mushrooms for a minute:) tfs love your projects!
Love all these ornament ideas especially the game one! Thank you
I put my brushes in sealed zipper bags while I'm still in the midst of a project.

This is a fantastic video my favorite is the blue jar with flowers popping out the top it’s just darling and I want to make that for my kitchen
Its amazing how you can make popsicles sticks look like real wood.. you do such an amazing job, I just love your diys,
The LOVE sign was my favorite
Thanks for always showing bows. You are so talented.
Pink flowers would have looked great too.
Quarantine allowed me to start crafting again.Crafting has always been one of my loves but I got busy with my little loves and hubby the last 16 years and was so excited to watch your videos and they inspired me to jump back in
Aw, I want to enjoy mine being little but I hope lots of quite crafting time is in my future! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful projects ,fresh and so expensive looking ..Who needs designer stores 😀
Haha, exactly! 🤣🤣🤣
I really liked the jar with the flowers and the cotton picture both turned out gorgeous!!!
You are amazing, I can not wait to get home from work and stop at dollar tree and Walmart and make some projects tonight !
I love the golden tone flowers in the blue jar
I crafted every day during the quarantine. Several of them I learned from you.

Everything is so cute especially the Love Photo frame ❤
Quarentine... That's when I found you! Lol! Every morning I'd sit with my coffee and hot down what you were doing. One day I looked up and realized I had been sitting there for 2.5 hrs. Yikes! You and a few others gave me so joy in a world that has absolutely gone crazy!!! Have a blessed day. ❤️
SAME HERE!
Same here Sherie!!! A life saver!!
I have been crocheting like crazy since lockdown. Learned so many new stitches
You do look super young. I was shocked when I realized you had 3 girls 💗 Congrats on 10 years💗
I absolutely love the LOVE PHOTO diy!! It is GREAT !!!!!!
Keep a cup with lightly soapy water and put your paint brushes in it as you finish and you can wash them a couple times a week. Works really well
I would love to see some farmhouse toddler boys room decor. Please!!
The jar is beautiful and the flowers are perfect!
I really love that home sweet home sign
I love your crafts!! Maybe some pink would look pretty in your jar-maybe even mixed in with your yellow!
Really, really like the beads and your hand-drawn flowers. Like how you are using the metal words that were gifted to you. I wouldn’t have thought to paint the love sign either. Episode after episode, I’m amazed with your creativity.
I love those houses. I have those arrows and thought about making them into houses and now I have something to follow.
We painted the exterior of the house, added a window box, got beautiful double front doors installed. Crafting as far as trying to save money and painting out door cushions. But my yard looks great. The house not so much!
You always come up with such good ideas. I love all of your projects. But i have to say your Blessed jar with flowers is my favorite.
Lol
I absolutely love the Love picture frame!!
I fell in love with chalk paint as well. I love how hard it gets after it dries so it will last forever.
Love the small home sign.
Everything is adorable,I love it all, fabulous ideas, nice to have such a beautiful young creative mind,
mine is about wore out, I love to see what comes up next, so exciting, to see what you are doing next.
