Me and my buddies even though we are all in our 30s we love our custom built racing carts they all use to he a yard cart of some sort and mine is the 1997 one that came with the 5hp brigs and stratton fun power motor with the roll cage and the frame and cage is all red with a decal on the floor board saying fun power and a rainbow looking logo with it. I have jad it sonce i was 7 and now it has a fast predator ghost racing motor thats been moded and built and the cart tops put at 105 mph i have rebuilt the whole front end and rear drive axle so its safer for hogher speeds snd me and my buddies theres 8 of us meet at this abandoned parking lott of a old target super center thats been closed for last 9 years and we lay out cones and lale a massive road course racetrack and race all night the cops will come and watch even let them take a few carts for a little race as well. We have jad ppl show up with karts and race that we didnt know and now ot has turned into a full blown go kart meet every other sat night and we race for money everyone puts 10 dollars in a jar basically and winner takes all with three heat races or depending on amount of karts with a 40 lap feature race. Bigfest race we had was 24 go karts show up and that was a good paayday for me. Only rule is no purpose built racing karts that was made for racing must have been a yard kart new and no shifter karts and no lototcycle engines and other then thet anything else is legal as far as go kart motor soze and how uou buolt the motor and carbs. And if you want more of a racing style chassis it must be home built and cant be offset in anyway must be equal all the way around. We have no tire rules exceot for no tire compound treatments so it doesnt stain the parking lot and other then that we race and have fun and never once had anyone get into a fight over who won or who wrecked who its all fun even thoufh there can be a good bit of money involved. Last sat night was our first race of the off season of real oval track racing that most of us do and went parking lot racing and we had 18 karts show up and the guy who was leading got dumped coming out of turn 10 by second place for the win and they shook hands and wasnt mad at each other at all. Even though there was 180 dollars on the line nobody got mad. Labor day weekend we are racing at a new oarking lot of a business owner that i know personally who said we can use his property and parking lott to race on sp we are jot doing it on provate property with no permission like we been doing and we are gonna have everyone put 40 dollars in for the pot for prize money and split it between 1-3rd place only and as of now i have 26 huys committed to come race including 6 kids which we allow kods to race with us adults cause they already race full size dirt ump mods at age 11&12 and asphalt latemodels at same age so they can come run as well. And thats 1,040 for prize money. And still got 6 more guys who come every race night that i know will come but hasnt told me they are committed yet to come so we will see and only 15 karts will start the main race after heat races will determine starting spot and we will draw poker chips with numbers on it to tell you what position you atart in heats and each heat will be 5 karts and 5 laps so if i drew a 17 that means im in heat 3 starting 2nd place and if i win i will be starting 3rd place in main race
