I have just brought Papyrus-Cyperus, the Egiptian ones in Europe. Propagating is the same, only difference is that this is much bigger, and can be real paper made of it. The procedure is 100% the same as this on your video. ❤
Thanks for such an informative video, Ramona! I am getting ready to divide an indoor plants and feel confident that I'll be successful now..this is by far the best video I've seen!
Hello, I have grown 2 papyrus plants from 8 in. potted to their present state 2 to 3 ft at base and 8-9 ft high outside in the ground. I want to divide them now. Can I just dig around the base end that I want to remove, then separate it from the main part that is staying with a sawzall and then move it? I definitely do not want to harm the plant; it is so beautiful. I also planned on giving some to a couple of friends that admire these plants so much. Thank you for your help, Jan Lee.
I just bought a dwarf papyrus plant and wanted to re-pot it, and was having a hard time finding anything about it. So finding this was great. Love your attitude and presentation! Thanks so much for this! I couldn't find the ingredients to make my own soil - I didn't want to mess around with clay and all that stuff- so I bought aquatic soil, which is supposed to be pretty much the same composition as the home-made soil recipes online called for. Question: it's still in the original pot and soil it came in. I've been keeping it on top of a bookcase where it can get bright indirect light. I've been wary of putting it outside because I live in the midwest, pretty intense sunlight all day (which I was afraid would scorch the leaves). Would it be good for the plant out on a front step with direct intense sun all day, and high humidity? Thanks again!
I live in MO. and I have the plants in large pots outside and the are growing like crazy. I want to divide them and store them in the house or garage for winter, and replant them again this spring...😊
Hi Dicephalous, dividing them into too many plants might have caused a little bit to much distress for them. They should however recover if you either take them out of soil and put them in water for a while so they can recover. If they are dead, check out my etsy, I am selling rooted plants ;) Good luck

Its platypus
Do yourself a favor and don't plant papyrus.
