5:17 I was at that same mudfest in 2006!! It was my first ever Sea Otter Classic and my *first* downhill race. The conditions were _god awful...._ trying to pedal my nearly 50 lb Ironhorse down that peanut butter like track is still one of the most exhausting experiences of my life. So many people just collapsed at the finish line, covered in mud.
This years weather is gonna be 👌
Definetely worth the 23 hour flight.
I used to live near there, in fact I went 13 years in a row. One year I won a bike, a Giant pos comp, which I sold in eBay; and the next year I won a Manitou Dorado Pro, which I ran on my dh bike at Northstar for like 3 summers. And this isn’t touching on all the other smaller things I won at raffles. I also remember the year of torrential rain of 06 (Still have my mud-packed pedals from that year in a box with other bike junk) but there was also another year of torrential rain in 04, or 05 I think. I haven’t been in 10 years, though, I wonder if it’s still as good. I miss Sea Otter.
Second year in a row, can't wait! 🤙
Dario is a great addition to PB.
@Pinkbike you need to cover NW TuneUp Music and MTB Festival in Bellingham!
Laguna Sicka! 🤣 See everyone there!
In short: Cool people, cool places, cool bikes. They're events for our community to enjoy
I wanna go so bad! but it's in the middle of my final exam period, a few more years and I'll be there!
I remember going to the first sea otter, it was tiny, its definitely changed, i am sad there is no longer anything having to do with bmx and trials comp like back in the 90s
Shoutout from Monterey!
Its gonna be a good one!! this will be my third year and it just gets better and better!!!
Oh man, was Dario's run in 2019? I swear I watched someone do exactly that with Brett Tippie yelling at him the whole time!
She said Laguna "Sec-ca" twice. 🤦🏼
Class, let's say it out loud so Christina can learn... "Say-ca."
Side note... RIP Pole.
I moved to Santa Cruz recently, I might as well check it out. First time.
We got perfect 👌 weather for it this year.. Good Vibes.. 👍
Christina we love you
RIP Pole
😢
cool Dario's origin story
Not sure why should I give any fks still I'm about a border and a 6 hours flight away, if I'd go to Laguna Seca it would be to see cars racing 😂
Great Video, but what about this fu** headline? Clickbait?
I remember when pinkbike weren't woke and toxic
I totally LOVE the idea of bike fests and demo shows but... I've never been a fan of waiting a long time in line to ride a normally fun to ride trail super slow from trail congestion. And that's pretty much what you get here on the East Coast....so I totally avoid any crowd. I ride a lot out west as well (Colorado, Utah) on my hardtail and enduro bike AND my emtb...but I've entirely quit riding areas that strictly forbid emtb riding and I refuse to give those trail systems or shops my money any longer. The destructive stigma that emtb's have gotten over the last few years is a complete fabrication of smug purists.
What happened to Friday fail?
not everybody lives in North America though
Thank fucking God for that! Stay where you are!
*sad face from Amsterdam
Where is Friday Fails #319?
Not much else are good reasons to congregate in Commiefornia.
I was waiting for something like this. There's always a troll under the bridge. Get a life, go to Sea Otter!
@@MikeL-w8b You were waiting for this? I doubt it.
California's political, social, and economic troubles are setting an example for the rotten State I live in. I'm only making a statement, agree or not.
I like mountain biking.
The gay state lol lol maby they schould give it to Mexico
@@Paganiproductions84 It belongs to the USA. It's going to stay in the USA. Maybe people should fight for what the USA was built on.
Someone calls it gay.
I personally refer to it as s0domy, perverted intercourse. Nothing gay about it. Just ask that population about sVicid3 rates, @buse, dise@se, d3pression.
I'm broke and live on the other side of the world, idgaf
I should care about it because people like to race there?
Racing is irrelevant to my enjoyment of the sport.
So are massive press events.
I don't really care 😅😅
More important is saving the Laguna Seca Raceway from the disgusting NIMBYs!
