- A nice lady at church gave me this box of dolls. I should have said no, I don't need them...but I could not find the right way to do so. So, let's look at the nice vintage porcelain dolls together before I find them a different home. Vintage toys, vintage dolls, collectables, antiques - whatever you want to call them.

All of them are so beautiful. I can't imagine why someone would throw or give them away, honestly.
I enjoy repainting Barbies so a few weeks ago I picked up a fancy porcelain doll from value village to challenge myself to paint and it’s just so beautiful, I know I have some of the super collectors quaking in their boots by trimming the hair and repainting everything completely different but it’s extremely fun
Oh wow they are gorgeous. I would never give them away. I have a collection of porcelain dolls at home ,mom isnt very happy about it but i still keep them. Some of them are just some more modern dolls but my most valuble one is one that i recently got,she was made in the 70s in germany
I couple I have are genuine Porcelain! I have an eye for them and God my OCD when kids brake them and parent's just leave the shop.

The dolls head is made out of porcelain, it has detailed clothings you can take off (unfortunately they arent made greatly) its mostly hand painted...

My local thrift store always had porcelain dolls. As a little girl, I always had to get at least one. I went through a growing up phase and got rid of all them... now I’m so sad. I miss them. They’re so pretty.

Those dolls are gorgeous (: My mom always bought me porcelain dolls when I was younger and I still love collecting them today. Seems like many people don't like these dolls now, sadly. I always find them at thrift stores though and "rescue them" since nobody else really buys them lol
It sounds very familiar about "need to rescue". My love are Russian Nesting Dolls and anything Russian/Slavic handmade. I do rescue these items. However, I am able to walk away from porcelain dolls most of the time.

I'm in the UK and same here they are always found in charity shops I also buy them if they are in good condition as I have liked porcelain dolls since the early 90s when they were still very popular
My grandmother gave me dolls when I was younger and one of them was a porcleian doll. At the time I thought it was creepy and was planing on giving it away. But that was awhile ago, and my sense of fashion and style changed. (Feel in love with the 80s, don't judge me) yesterday, I came back to the doll and decided to keep it bc it had a unique touch to it. I'm just glad I didn't get rid of it.
I love porcelain dolls!! I’m 25. I only have 3 because I’m a bit picky, but I know when I love the doll. They are super inexpensive and bring me so much happiness cause they are so fragile and beautiful. Happy I got to keep them someone needs to like them :) I have the Russian looking type doll she has a dark blue dress♥️

There's an antique shop right next to my dads house and there are a bunch of porcelain dolls there and I always go there to get porcelain dolls and I would really love the dolls that you showed I love to play with there hair also but I mostly just put them on a shelf

If you buy them from second hand shops like Good Will, unless they come in a box with a certificate of authenticity they aren't worth much more then the shelf price!

Here's an idea! how about you take all the clothes off them, then take the dolls apart however the bodies allow without destroying them and put them back together with limbs, heads that didn't start off together, re-forming them into a brand new sculptured doll. Use whatever glue that will do the trick to tilt the head in an unusual way or make the legs into fashion poses. If the hair is neatly set in place, pull it into a new style, re-cut a wig to make it more on trend. Try painting over the face in a more dramatic way. Putting bits of clothing together in a new way can make a girl look like a high fashion model. Cut the seams open and re-sew the costume onto the new doll, you're not going to have to undress her in the future anyway are you? Go on....try it. Give the poor neglected girls a new life! I have been a doll maker for over 20 years and can see heaps of fun potential in this box of orphans.
I love this idea and have created several sculptures from recycled/found objects in the past. Sadly, I do not have time for much these days. I am working and going to school, so my creative side will have to wait. Some day, though!

+aleks Dane Don't get me wrong, I like these dolls. But it does not mean that I have to keep them. Sometimes, taking pictures or videos help me to feel less anxious about getting rid of things. The dolls were pretty, so I thought my viewers might enjoy them too. Beauty enjoyed- no need for dusting. ;)

Me personally, I would've have salvaged the dolls for parts, their wigs and their clothes.
OK. You don't want them, either. So, call up Social Services. Tell them you were given dolls you don't want and ask if they know any children who would be happy to have them. Or donate them to the children's ward of a hospital. Or, perhaps a local museum might accept them.
I think you are acting a little ungrateful. I'm sure the dolls were given to you out of love. I hope you find a way to n.v enjoy them. Best of luck to you.
