I am surprised the first map at the beginning shows two towns where my mom was born and raised. One is Puiesti where she spent her earlier life there after being born from Bacau and other Rachitoasa where she grew up to being adult. I go to Puiesti when I was there last time every Sunday for mititei and buying things and sometimes even spending time there. And also the first anthem in the video gives such a patriotic feeling although born in NYC, USA.

It's going to take time for Moldova to become part of Romania again and even for a great Romania to come back it's impossible because Bulgaria and Ukraine will not give their lands back. Moldova is our last hope for greater Romania. Otherwise you can kiss the dream goodbye let's hope not. I mean you still got a good majority of people who doesn't want to be part of Romania yet so it may take two to three generations before that actually happens, hopefully less because now we're standing at close to 40% who wants to reunite so there is strong hope.
Never an official anthem of Romania. The legionaries practically never took power. It's just that Antonescu was the Prime Minister, but Romania remained a kingdom and the anthem wasn't changed.

@@CipherWolf Well, you are right in one way. On the other hand we also had Communist oppression in our country, but the Hungarian anthem remained the same since the 19th century. Before that there were different anthems for Protestant (Psalm 90.) and for Catholic people (a Mary-song). You are right related the Communist explanation. The Communist oppressors wanted to replace the anthem also in our country, but they couldn't find anybody who wanted different Hungarian anthem. So it remained the same despite the Communism, and only the melody was allowed to be played, singing was forbidden. Singing the Hungarian anthem was called "nationalism" by the Communist oppressors, and even punished. I think it casts a good light to any nation that does not replace its anthem according the political trends. Because it means that the nation has a good anthem suitable for every situation. The anthem is related to the nation itself and not to changing political trends.
@@CipherWolf I was thinking over the question of what makes the Romanian (before the 19th century Wlach) people Wlach/Romanian. Because whatever is the essence of the Wlach nationality, the heart of the Romanian being, it's very flexible. Romanians or Wlachs can have a country or not, the size of their state can be smaller or bigger, nationality itself survives. Even the anthem can be different four times in a century, the political system can always change (Monarchy - Fascism - Communism etc.) the Wlach nationality or Romanian being is not affected. Then what is the essence of this people whithout which they are not Romanian or Wlach anymore? I ask it you because in our nation being Hungarian is nailed down in many things: the anthem, the country size (despite Trianon), the political system (one of our symbol is the Holy Crown), the Constitution (the 1000 years old historical one), the language, the special Hungarian writing, the moral behavior (we could not betray our ally nor lie), and so on. That's why one of our great leaders in the 19th century said: it's good to be Hungarian, it's not easy, but it's possible. Because to be Hungarian is very determined in many things. But I cannot see this so much in the Wlach nation or Romanian self-identity. If there is an essence of national being of this people, what is it - without which somebody cannot be considered Romanian or Wlach? The only thing I found until now was the hatred. The world wide famous Romanian writer, Lucian Boia (if i spell it correctly) as a historian admitted that in some questions the Hungarian are right historically. Then 90% of the population of Romania considered the word wide famous writer "not being a real Romanian". So whatever is the truth, if the truth favors the Hungarians, it cannot be acknowledged,. And those who accept the truth are not real Romanians. In this meaning the anti-Hungarian attitude is the essence of the Romanian being. But this is a negative characteristic of the Wlach nationality. And it's not even historically Romanian, because The Wlachs did not hate us before the 18th century (that's when the Romanian ideology appeared). So what is the essence of the Wlach nationality, without what somebody cannot be Wlach or Romanian? It's not the anthem, the political system, the size of the country, special moral behavior, etc. By special moral behavior I mean that for example the Hungarians are reliable, the Germans precise workforce, the Japanese high working capacity etc.
